Can any of you help me in deciding whether Chef Mickey DINNER is worth it? I want to go there, haven't been there in like, 13 years-as a teenager. This will be my 5 year old and DH first Disney trip and I remember loving CM and figure my 5 year old will too. But I've read SO many bad things about their dinner, I have a ressie, but I just don't know now. Especially for the price.

I have a sentimental attachment to this place as well, and we have eaten at both breakfast and dinner and never have had a bad experience. We tend to choose "off hours" such as a late breakfast time or very early or late dinner time. Doing this has allowed for wonderful character interaction, they have lingered long enough for several pictures and many characters have even made their way around twice. We have a 11:30 am ADR for the day we leave as a "Good Bye For Now.." end to our trip. Good luck and go with your heart! :upsidedow

We like chef mickeys and plan to go there gain on our first night. Love the mashedotatoes, the beef and the dessert bar. The characters are great. W e travel with my dd and her two sons 5 & 13. The young one likes the characters, the older one the food! We are not on the ddp but still this is a must do.

Holy cow! That's crazy! I would have asked for a supervisor. Unbelievable! Do you know who it was? If so, I would call back and report them. Maybe a supervisor can pixie dust you.

That's ridiculous. I would have asked to speak to another CM who would be happy to to at least TRY and meet your request!

I second this....I don't care how many people call for FD you need to check. That's ridiculous.

I called back and asked for a supervisor and the girl was very nice and friendly, but she told me I had to email my complaint. So, I guess that's what I'll do.

I'm trying to decide about this as well.. I have never been and am just not convinced, but a friend o mine and my sister keep telling me I HAVE to go as it is my kids first trip to Disney. The dinner buffet honestly did not look all that good to me and I'm having trouble getting a reasonably timed (before 8:30) reservation, is the breakfast any better? I currently have a 12:05 ADR.

Really? I've never needed a supervisor but Ive read on here that people just got connected to one.

Yep. So I'm torn, do I use his name or not? I would feel terrible if he got in any sort of "real" trouble, ya know??

Thanks, Smitch. Joining now.

Yes, use his name. If he is not spoken to about it he will continue to do this to other people. He was in the wrong, you have nothing to feel guilty about.

We are doing CM and did it last trip. The food was OK, nothing wonderful but the characters were great. We have FD so the cost is not an issue. We have a dinner ADR on my niece's 3rd birthday; she loves the Fab 5. But she did tell me last week that she wants Mickey, Minnie and princesses to say Happy Birthday to her. :) Sorry sweetie but CRT lunch is the day after your birthday. The kids don't know about CRT, we've never done it.

If he is being rude to paying customers, and refusing to DO HIS JOB and search for FD availability, he needs to have some re-training done. It doesn't sound like this is an offense that would get him fired on the spot (unless there are several instances of this sort of behavior by him on file). If I was his supervisor, I'd want to know so I could tell him the appropriate behavior to display towards customers.

Has anyone had experience with emailing Disney? The CM that gave me the email address said ill get a response with in 48 hrs. I just wonder if that's true.

ALD85, I just listened to a great episode on NPR about customer complaints. It seems, according to their research more companies are responding faster to customer complaints. One person was told they'd be given a refund for a product and it would take 2 weeks. It only took 24 hours after the person tweeted about their situation. I, also don't care to report people... however do it nicely and perhaps you'll get that pixie dust. Good Luck! If we don't stand up for ourselves who will? Always use honey.
