I'm with you too. We really want to stay at WL and nothing was available when my TA called this morning.

We'll be there Aug. 15-24, so no free ddp for us. We plan to buy it for half of our stay. We will buy the ddp for our first 4 days at OKW and not buy it for our 5 nights at BCV. We originally were hoping to do the free ddp for our first 4 days at a value resort, but that didn't work out. At least the price is the same for us, but just have to use my points for OKW now and had hoped to save them.

I'll join in to. We will be at the Poly 8/20-8/26 (ouch!). It is the only week we can go ~ so we will love it anyways!

I'm also in the rack rate loser's club. No free dining, no 40% off code ... I couldn't even get an AAA rate, as it wasn't available for the cheaper room types at AKL on my dates (and I booked way back in Jan). I'm hoping enough people cancel early August stays to move to the free dining dates, that Disney decides to stretch out free dining one week earlier...

Otherwise, looks like rack rate for me and my honey on our Disneymoon! We'll still be happy to be married and at Disneyworld!

CathrynRose, don't give up! I didn't get my first choice either. I had a room at CR MK View booked already and thought I could just add dining when it came out, but that didn't happen (I wanted to sleep an extra half hour, OKAY I forgot, it's that damn Sanjaya he's got me crazy!! ) Anyway I tried at around 8, didn't get through, held for about a half hour so then I came to work and tried and only waited about 10 minutes, but no CR MK View left, so I went with the Poly Garden View (never been and am kind of excited now ) Hubby wasn't too happy but he always gets like that when his first choice is gone, so I explained to him how me (and you wonderful people) helped save us about $2300 with roomrate and FD and now we're all best friends again!

Anyway, a couple of years ago, same thing happened but we wanted GF so bad, but got Beach Club instead, but I never gave up and I finally got GF to which that husband of mine said (after whining about not being on the monorail!) "what? I was excited to stay at the beach club!" So, after the major beating (and six months rest in jail ) I gave him, we stuck with our origina GF and had a BLAST and even met Lou Diamond Phillips who strangely enough has just been arrested for beating his new girlfriend (Okay joking about the beating on the hubby, but we didn't give up and I won't this time either, so don't give up, keep trying!) That goes for all of you who are going in that time frame, got it? No more blues, big hug now

That gives me some hope. We really want to stay at Wilderness Lodge but apparently they only have concierge left (oh how I wish!) I'm going to keep trying though.. and if we don't get freedining, I'm hoping we'll get some kind of discount.

No matter what, it's my first trip to Disney ever so I am not gonna let it get me down!

We are going in early August, so there is no free dining for us. If we were able to travel during the free dining dates, I'd try to be open to get any value or moderate to get in on the deal. It's a great bargain to get the dining plan for free. I hope that those who can travel during the free dining dates this year can get their reservations made OK.

I wonder if they will offer free dining in 08? I'm hoping that it will be offered again!

I'll join your pity party re: the NO FD blues! Our dates are 8/9 thru 8/16, and with the childrens' school schedule, will no longer be able to go to WDW in late Aug., Sept again. I wasn't counting on FD anyhow so it would have been a super surprise. We will still have an awesome time, and will just be paying for the DP like most people to elect to purchase it do.

Doesnt matter - deluxe or value. When you have your heart set on a resort (or a time frame, or whatever) it just stinks. Youre not going to jump off a bridge, but you can whine.

And Whine I am gonig to do..... the group pf people whom are going the same time as I, ALLLLLL GOT THE DINING AT POP TOO!

Im going to attempt to lay major guilt trips on them.

DH is the one who vetoed me. Says we just went last year and can't afford it this year. Plus he doesn't want to come home (we drive) the day before school begins. Since when does this affect him. I do all the school shopping and getting everyone out of the house! We also "must" not miss those soccer camps that those bright individuals plan for the week before school begins . Give me a break, I need a vacation

I tried for Pop got All Star Sports instead. CM told me to keep trying for POP, they sometimes come available. How often should I try? Every day or week?
