Free Dining, Bluuuuuuuuuues!

Only difference? I flat out refused ASmu... My nose TURNED UP at even the THOUGHT of it.

I tried for Pop got All Star Sports instead. CM told me to keep trying for POP, they sometimes come available. How often should I try? Every day or week?

My girlfriend has a package - couldnt add the code. ***stomp foot again***

Poor g/f, I gave her instructions on what to say to call (she's a disney virgin) and when they said ' we dont have POP, we have AsMu or Sports...she froze!!! I dont know, she said...this wasnt on my list!!

Thankfully the CM held while she called me and asked... and ALSO which I thought was kinda cool, wehn we half considered switching, even though I was still on hold on my othr phone (4 phones involved in this whole thing!!!) the CM SHE was talking to, was willing to change my reservation too, since we were all on speaker, with my g/f in the middle.

But we didnt.

If they dont open some POP rooms up...****shake fist****

Doesnt matter - deluxe or value. When you have your heart set on a resort (or a time frame, or whatever) it just stinks. Youre not going to jump off a bridge, but you can whine.

And Whine I am gonig to do..... the group pf people whom are going the same time as I, ALLLLLL GOT THE DINING AT POP TOO!

Im going to attempt to lay major guilt trips on them.

Once again Cathrynrose, please don't give up, if you check everyday including on the internet, rooms open all the time, you'll be surprised. I am surprised that it does state 10 day maximum and people are booking for up to 3 weeks, it seems a little unfair to those who didn't get a room if the promotion was suppose to have a cap on it. Don't get me wrong (and I don't want anyone being mean to me again and taking things out of context) but I am happy they got their choice and they got to book as many nights as they would love (wish I could go for three weeks! lol) but if it's suppose to be for 10 days, then they should have made it only for 10 days so that everyone had a fair chance.

PLEASE, I am NOT saying that those who got more than 10 nights should give them up, I'm truly happy for you, it's just that Disney is limiting some and not others, must have been a hectic day for all the CM's. I told the CM who I spoke with who as fabulous to go home and take a LONG hot bath and nap after today, lol. She said some people waited over 2 hours and she was willing to even check some other things for me, but I told her no thank you, I wanted to get off the phone to let others have a shot.

When are your dates btw? Maybe you could give them to a TA like dreams or smallworld and see if they can get something for you. TA's seem to have a better shot and it doesn't cost you anything. It may be worth a shot.

Please just ignore this poster. Perhaps it was meant to come off as sarcastic? I could totally see where it would hurt your feelings though, but I, for one, was given a glimmer of hope with your post....not snootiness.

Just keep in mind, its hard to read 'tone' in posts, y'know???

And if they WERE being a jerk... well then, consdider the source and dont bother getting yourself worked over someone who would make such a comment!

Besides we're all going to WDW - its party time!!

I called Disney myself and a wonderful CM was able to find me a room at WL. We have to go Sept 4 in stead of Sept 7 but that's not problem. So thank you, Lori you did give me hope and I got to shakes the blues!

I would be singing the blues too if I wasn't able to get the free dining at CBR. My TA asked me if I would be willing to change, and I really wanted to be able to, and even posted a poll here asking if others would change (and they would), but I couldn't do it. I told him that I wanted CBR no matter what. I was lucky that he was able to get it and just have it added to my reservation, but if not, I'd be crying here a little too.

Thank you, you're right I shouldn't let someone I don't know get me upset. I am sure they were being sarcastic in a mean type of way (I guess that's what all the caps were for). I truly did come here just to try and cheer you up and give hope because you seemed so sad and I hate reading about people being sad regarding Disney, it's suppose to be FUN! You're right I could careless if I were staying off site (which I have a few times) because to me Disney IS the happiest place on earth and I would sleep in a tent to go there (and believe me it's been discussed, lol). Well GOOD LUCK with your FD, got some good vibes and pixie dust going your way! Well, to ALL of us!

I'm also in the rack rate loser's club. No free dining, no 40% off code ... I couldn't even get an AAA rate, as it wasn't available for the cheaper room types at AKL on my dates (and I booked way back in Jan). I'm hoping enough people cancel early August stays to move to the free dining dates, that Disney decides to stretch out free dining one week earlier...

Otherwise, looks like rack rate for me and my honey on our Disneymoon! We'll still be happy to be married and at Disneyworld!

Keep on calling to see if an AAA rate opens up. I couldn't get one for CSR, but one opened up yesterday for me for two rooms.

I have been following your posts!! You are a great Diser!! Listen, I know how you feel. I had my heart set on my family/friends. All being together also. But, it was not possible. We all wanted POP too. But, only one party got it. Everyone else is at another resort. Does it suck yes. But, think. If you stay at another resort you can just meet up in the parks, and,for all the rides, lunch, and then at dinner. I dont want you to be down, you are the best!! I say you just book another value, and just meet up. You will have the best time sweetie I promise you will. I wish I could cheer you or give you a hug. Truly it will work out!! And just like that other sweet poster said. Dont give up trying!! I have a feeling things will work out for you!!

Yikes!! I thought that would insure the room if you called as soon as the promotion started. A good thing I had a Disney Visa. Good luck, I think people jumped in and called hoping to go and will cancel. Not they I wish them ill but I think you will get a room.

DH is the one who vetoed me. Says we just went last year and can't afford it this year. Plus he doesn't want to come home (we drive) the day before school begins. Since when does this affect him. I do all the school shopping and getting everyone out of the house! We also "must" not miss those soccer camps that those bright individuals plan for the week before school begins . Give me a break, I need a vacation

I feel bad for you. I like to go the week before school starts. It's actually my kids who don't like to get home the day before school starts. They told me they need at least a day to "unwind". Kids - unwind?

I really hope your DH changes his mind. Maybe you could go without him and just take the kids. I did this last year. Went with a GF and her kids.

Since you couldn't add the free dining to your POP package, have you considered upgrading to a mod resort? Wouldn't it be about the same you are already paying for POP with dining? (Of course, I'm assuming you have POP with dining).

I know I considered this, and was going to do it if I couldn't get a value with the free dining. But this year I actually elected to stay at AS MU. I stayed at POP last year and wanted to try something new. The refurbished rooms sold me. Since it's just me and DS 12 it really didn't make sense for us to upgrade. But if more of my family was going, it would surely be tempting.

A little bummed I could not get WL for free dining. Only had concierge level. Cha-ching, cha-ching! Going back to CBR for the 3rd time, but it is ok. We will eat for free!
However... I will still keep on calling to see if something more reasonable opens up at WL. When we got CBR, the only had standard view, no preferred location which we "prefer." I called back and a preferred opened up, so I jumped on that...
Who cares where we stay tho?! WE R GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!

Since you couldn't add the free dining to your POP package, have you considered upgrading to a mod resort? Wouldn't it be about the same you are already paying for POP with dining? (Of course, I'm assuming you have POP with dining).
