The Disney Tourist Blog has an article out on this. It seems to be confirmed. And while a bounceback offer is not necessarily indicative of what the general public will see, I agree with the blog's conclusion that Disney is clearly moving to ramp up their summer promotions. We've already seen some of that this year, as was discussed on yesterday's podcast, and it looks like it's going to continue into 2017. I think Disney's bookings have been "soft" this year, for a variety of reasons, and they're having to move back toward getting more aggressive with their offers. As a result, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a more expansive free dining offer in 2017 than we've seen in the past few years.

Regardless of all that, though, it *does* seem odd, as @sharonabe mentioned, to have holidays like Independence Day and Labor Day included, even for a bounceback offer. Yet these dates appear to be confirmed as accurate. That does make me raise an eyebrow.

Thanks for the info. We'll be down end of next week and are already planning on taking advantage of this! Nice to see they bumped the dates earlier into August again. We weren't able to take advantage of the 2016 free dining offer this year as it started just a few days before our schools go back. At least we got a great deal on a stay at the Poly this year, but honestly, the free dining is still a far better value for our family.

We were just at WDW after the fourth, and the crowds were very, very light at first. Maybe that's why they are offering this uncharacteristic FD offer. I'm a bit worried about what this will mean for crowds and ADRs next year.

While the offer wasn't in my room, (We stayed at a Value and when I called to book bc I knew about the offer anyway, the CM told me in room marketing is only for Mods/Deluxe) I was super excited to book the bounce back yesterday morning for 6/2-6/10. I was surprised that the beginning of June was available. So I completely agree very odd holiday time periods are! I also agree on how bookings and ADR's will fly off the shelf. That's why I booked today vs when we go back in early October. Especially with Port Orleans being excluded, I knew choices would go quick. I had to book a CBR water view due to standard not being available for my dates. Even at that, the savings was incredible. Who would have thought for the summer!

We are going for one night in September before our cruise and going back late August 2017 for a week. We will definitely be booking!

Is it still true that if the bounce back offer isn't in your room that you can just go ask someone for that paper?

The best thing to do is to call extension 8844 from your resort room phone to ask about the bounce back offer. Front desk staff never seem to know a thing about it.

I definitely find it odd for July 4th to be included but not Labor Day as that has been included before. Always call the extension x8844 from your room like PP said as other CMs seem to not know much about it at all.

I know this is an older post, but wanted to confirm that POR is included in this offer-we just booked it for a span including over July 4th, so maybe it depends on when you are booking as to if it is available?

Right now it is only available as a bounce-back offer. You have to be at WDW, staying in one of their resorts right now to book this for next year. It's not an offer for the general public booking from home.

I understand that- we did just book as a bounce back (just leaving today) but earlier someone listed that Port Orleans was not an option for their booking, but it was for ours, booking over different dates- just wanted to let others know that it was an option as bounce back for us :dogdance:

About Stay, Play, and Dine - we've done it twice in January and found it a good value. We paid half-price, give or take, for the Dining Plans and I think we got our money's worth. Not as awesome as the Free Dining we've had several times but not bad at all.

We were there last week and that was indeed the bounceback offer in our room.

It must depend on the dates, because we booked the bounceback offer for dates in December and asked for one of the Port Orleans resorts and was told neither were included in the offer.
