Free dining 2014

I recieved the email from Disney Chase Rewards and it mentioned a 6 night stay. I'm not quite ready to book yet but we are planning on 4 nights and our friends are planning on three nights so it sounds like from what other people are saying three nights is the minimum. I hope that is right!
I think you should be able to book it with the 3 night stay. However I would not wait long to book. I wanted a moderate resort and the only option we could do was Caribbean Beach which we were fine with but the rooms seems to be booking fast

Lucky to have got FD our last two trips in Fall, but was hoping to celebrate hubbies birthday this Dec. and see the holiday happenings. We were planning on WL from Dec.6 - 13. Does anyone know why these dates are blackout?? Is there any other offers ( ie room rates) that might possibly occur then?? Not sure what to do now??

My guess it's blacked out b/c of Pop Warner and possibly the parade taping. I think that usually happens around that time and brings lots of.folks to the parks.

I received a Disney Visa e-mail for Free Dining yesterday around 2pm Eastern, and booked last night with the code, so go check your e-mails!!

I will officially be in Disney in 176 days :yay:

Oh! Here are the dates in my e-mail: "This special offer is for arrivals most nights: 8/31-10/3/2014, 10/26-11/1/2014, 11/9-11/20/2014 and 12/12-12/23/2014."

I will say disney is more like company that only cares about one thing MONEY the gave me a price the of 3400 and got email for 4400 I said what is that , long story short maybe we who like this kind of vacation find somewhere else

I need to say don't trust disney if they tell you something my bill went from 3569 around about number to 3412 as I was told but she said I will make change for you and you don't have to call back and I'll send email what a mistake to trust disney my new bill 4400

If you do have the Disney Visa, have not received an email/pin, and are not using a travel agent, how are you getting the FD added when you book? I assume you have to call rather than book online?

Just call, ask for the DV FD and put your $200 deposit on your visa. Easy peasy. Good luck.:yay:

If I am traveling with my in-laws and they do not have a Disney Visa. Can I pay the $200 reservation for my room and my in-laws room and book the reservation before it is available to the general public?

Actually, can I make reservations for my room and for 3 additional rooms to be filled by non Disney Visa card holders?

As long as you are linked as traveling together and all are showing on each others friends and family profile, you can book and pay for a total of 3 rooms with your DV.

We were a little disappointed to see POFQ excluded from FD. The room only discounts were available thru Oct 3. Is that any change that room only discounts will be offered during the balance of October? Or during early/mid December?

Which resort has the guest rooms closer to resort dining CBR (Old Port Royale) or CSR if I wanted to grab breakfast and snacks for my family. Both resorts are so large I was wondering if one had a better chance of getting a close room?:confused3

What's the earliest the open public offer can start reserving? Is it the typical 7am est. tomorrow, or can we start tonight at midnight?

Every email said its not open to the public until may 7th but I'm not sure what time... I know for Disney visa we had to start calling at 659 am but I'm not sure about having to call or book online to the public

From my understanding ( I have read quite a bit about both of these, but have only stayed at CBR.) CSR is a bit more spread out with a max walking distance from the furthest rooms being about 15 minutes (got this from the "Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World 2014"). At CBR it is about 12 minutes.

With CBR you have the bridge that goes through the center of the lake which helps with the distance from the further away rooms from Old Port Royale. We stayed in the Jamaica section here and it only took us maybe 7 minutes to get to the food court and the walk over the lake and the little island was very pleasant. Hubby always made it up before the rest of us and would go each morning and get our mugs refilled and have them waiting for us when we woke up. If you do the Pirate rooms at CBR though, I do believe they are the furthest away from the food court at about 10-12 minutes walk. From what I have gathered from the Unofficial guide to Walt Disney World, you can put in a request for a certain area. Example... if you chose CBR, you can put in a special request to have your room in the Jamaica section (Aruba and Tinidad North seem to be close to the food court as well). Granted it is not 100% for sure they will be able to honor the request... but if I know Disney, they will do all they can to make it happen.

From what I have read ( again, not experienced, only read) about the Pepper Market (food court at CSR) even though it is a quick service restaurant, you still have to wait in line to be seated at a table and then a wait staff brings your drinks and then you go to the food stations to get your food and return to your table. I am not sure there is an option with this food court for you to grab breakfast and go as you mentioned you would like to do. I also have read that even though it is considered a quick service, because the wait staff brings your drinks and clears your plates, they will also add a gratuity to your check even if you are on the dining plan.

When it is opened to the GP you can book on line once Disney has added the link to their page. On the Disney website, scroll down to the "Present" that says check out our specials, once the promo shows up on that page, then you can book it. I have seen it on there as early as midnight and as late as 7am Est. the promo will be live to the GP on May 7th.

We booked our Disney Vacation last night since FD became available to DVisa cardholders. My husband was on hold for nearly and hour waiting to get through and thank heavens at 10:58 pm got through. We are traveling with my brother and his wife but they did not have the Visa. The CSR told my husband that we could NOT book my brothers room and get him FD. We went ahead , booked his room anyway because we wanted them connecting. She stated for him to call on the 7th at 7am and try to get FD.
Late last night my brother filled out the Visa Card and was approved immediately. He called Chase and the CSR was very helpful. He told him he would overnight the Visa via UPS FREE of Charge. My brother decided to call back this morning to Disney to double check on the FD. This time the CSR told him she would make the adjustment and get him the FD since we booked it on our DV. What confusion...LOL. She also told him when his card comes he can switch the deposit over to his card. She said they allow one DV account to be used on 3 additional reservations.

Moral of the story.... always double check and "try another CSR" they may have different info... :cool1:
