Free dining 2014

I am already booked for a check in date of Oct 3rd. In the past I would qualify is this still the case?

Question about split trips, our dates fall halfway through the free dining offer in November (6-12).

If we made two separate reservations, do we need to add on park tickets to the second reservation to be able to get the free dining offer?

Yes, the offer states you have to purchase minimum 2 day tickets. However, you can pick your tickets up early (the beginning of your vacation) but someone else would be better to verify how early you can pick them up before your package check-in date.

I didn't think about doing it the reverse way! I just did a google search and found this:

"In cases where Walt Disney World Resort Guests would like to begin using their Package Tickets prior to the day of check-in (up to three days in advance), the Guests will be directed to visit any Theme Park or DTD Guest Relations location and request Early Ticket Pick-Up. (Note this cannot be done at a water park.)"

I found this on the DISBoards "Everything About WDW Tickets" thread, but its from 2007, so I'll call see if this is still valid after today's crazy call center day! :)

Been trying to call keep getting the I'm sorry all circuits are busy! Boo looks like I'll be waiting awhile :(

Wow just called back waited on hold for 3 min 12 sec total phone call less than 17 mins all booked for November.

I'm confused. I called Chase yesterday and they said Disney was "targeting select card holders" and she said if you didn't get the pin you'd have to wait for the general public, but I see people booking who didn't get the pin.

So do you need the pin or not? Can I call with out and book the promotion? I have the number (she gave me that but was not willing to tell me anything else other than Disney would send me a code if I could book the offer.) I booked my trip already and my dates qualify.

Does anyone know if I can just call without the pin?

Does anyone know if I booked through a travel agent if she can book for me with my visa card or do I have to go through the process myself? Planning to do it myself since I emailed her a week ago about this and she hasn't responded :( Just want to make sure I don't screw something up planning my family's first trip.

If it was me I would call myself. And not work with that agent. That is way to long not to hear back! This is a big deal booking to receive free dining and if the agent isn't reliable... I would do it myself. But that is just me!

No you do not need a pin.

Thanks! We ended up getting the card recently, after we had already made room reservations. So she doesn't have our disney card info. I agree, I will probably just end up doing it myself. I was going to do it myself anyway but she was a friend of my sister in law and I wanted to help her out. Won't make that mistake again.

So it looks like I'm going to have to wait until the 7th for the general public :( I, going to wake up early to call (just like everyone I'm sure). I live in Idaho where is the office located? I know they open at 7 but I'm not sure what time that is for me. Also, we are booked for POR so I'm super bummed. I'm wondering if it'll cost me the same to switch to WL with free dining or maybe once everyone leaves POR if they will include it again. Ugh so many decisions, its actually stressing me out!

It cost me about $100 to upgrade to WL for a party of 3.

I would totally do it yourself if the agent hasn't responded in a week. You don't want other things messed up.

Haha. So, I'm on the phone right now and they told me that if I booked through a travel agent, the travel agent is the only one allowed to update my reservation. They're trying to help me out since my travel agent's extension has been disconnected so it appears she doesn't work with the company anymore. But in case anyone else was wondering it looks like the travel agent has to do all updates for you, you can't do them on your own. Last time I will probably use one.

Only $100 more than POR? Do you mean per night? I cannot come close to just $100 dif when i price out the two resorts.

Since FD was excluded from POR we upgraded to WL for just $100 total. It is for the dates of Sept 8 - 13.

/sigh...

Have they ever announced additional free dining dates later on in year or will this be it for this year?

We are family of 5 (which I am convinced Disney hates) already booked at POR (resort excluded) for 11/29 ~ 12/5 (date excluded)

:sad2:

So, if anyone works with a travel agent, make sure they are trustworthy. Disney does not have full access to your reservation if it is made through a travel agency. They cannot modify or cancel your reservation for you. I will have to wait for the travel agency my girl worked for to get back to me as they are the only ones who can make changes to my reservation.
