Free dining 2014

If I already have an existing reservation do I have to call to switch it over to new dates and free dining? Or can I do it online?

Not sure , but I think calling would be the best thing to do. If you are using the Visa to change it over call, I didn't see anything on the Disney Site. If you are waiting for the Public sale it may be listed online. Not really sure...
Good Luck..

Any idea why POR Riverside is not in on free dinning and will it open up on the 7 th.

They probably have a full house so they don't need to open it up to get bookings. Free dining and room discounts are done to fill resorts, and POR is always a popular resort

We booked our Disney Vacation last night since FD became available to DVisa cardholders. My husband was on hold for nearly and hour waiting to get through and thank heavens at 10:58 pm got through. We are traveling with my brother and his wife but they did not have the Visa. The CSR told my husband that we could NOT book my brothers room and get him FD. We went ahead , booked his room anyway because we wanted them connecting. She stated for him to call on the 7th at 7am and try to get FD.
Late last night my brother filled out the Visa Card and was approved immediately. He called Chase and the CSR was very helpful. He told him he would overnight the Visa via UPS FREE of Charge. My brother decided to call back this morning to Disney to double check on the FD. This time the CSR told him she would make the adjustment and get him the FD since we booked it on our DV. What confusion...LOL. She also told him when his card comes he can switch the deposit over to his card. She said they allow one DV account to be used on 3 additional reservations.

Moral of the story.... always double check and "try another CSR" they may have different info... :cool1:

Before I read the entire post, I was thinking " Call them back!!!":rotfl:This is a perfect example of different CM's not having the correct information.
As long as you are traveling together and have your profiles linked on the family and friends, you can book up to 3 rooms. I booked and paid for my son and his family's deposit with my Visa since we are all traveling together in September. You can NOT call and book early and pay for the deposit unless you are traveling with the party and your reservations are linked together.

If you have an existing reservation, you MUST call to make any changes to your reservation. It can not be done on line. This is definitely the biggest drawback to being pre-booked prior to a promo being announced. Everyone can normally go online and book shortly after midnight EST (I have seen it as early as midnight and as late as 6am) giving them 7 hours of advanced booking.

I was just about to ask what time it will be available online on the 7th. I guess there's no set time?

We are a family of 6 (5 plus baby) and I was really hoping to stay at POR with free dining. Now that POR is excluded where else can we stay that doesn't cost a fortune or are we better off staying at POR and paying for dining? Any suggestions would be helpful. I've looked into staying offsite as well but it so overwhelming. Then you have to add parking and time traveling in and out of the parks with 4 kids 7 and under. I'd rather have the luxury of taking the buses and being dropped off right at the entrance.

From the research I've done, I'd say a 'Family Suite' at All-Star Music with Free Dining might be your next cheapest option, and then maybe a 'Family Suite' at Art of Animation (AoA) with Free Dining. You can either take the 'Quick Service' free dining or upgrade to the regular plan that would have come with a Port Orleans booking. I don't believe either 'family suite' were excluded from the offer released to the Disney Visa customers and noticed someone on this thread got an AoA Lion King Suite.
In a 'family suite' you get 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette, which might come in handy.

Does anyone know what the upgrade charge would be for the deluxe plan if we stayed at a moderate resort? We were planning on staying at CBR. Last year we did this and upgraded to the deluxe also but don't know how much the upgrade was. TIA

That was going to be my suggestion. I see that Coronado Springs has little or no availability for the November part of the deal - nor even anything much last 2 weeks of October. Wow.

The difference in price is $49/day for adults.

Okay, here's one I haven't seen posted but something DH and I are throwing around. Can one adult upgrade their DDP to DDDP? We are going to be at F&W and all the extra snack credits would be handy. If we used the extra meals as CS, then one band could buy meals for many and would be able to try more things and eat some more breakfasts on other days. We are covered for our TS with DDP, but the extra boost would be nice.

As I understand it, Everyone in the same room must all be on the same package & have the same dining plan.

If I'm wrong... someone will be along shortly to correct me ;)

You are correct. Your DP credits are tied to your reservation number. So, unless you each have your own reservation (ie., room) then you will have all credits on one reservation and those on that reservation have to be on the plan - same plan.

Thanks, can't blame a person for trying. It isn't harder for their system, but they are probably stopping people from doing exactly what I was hoping to do.:coffee:

Whao Whao Whao...

Have I missed something?

Last I saw the FD was becoming available to the GP on the 7th May.... But someone just above said tomorrow.. so the 6th.

Does anyone know any truth to this?

I need to know because otherwise the time difference might make it so im asleep. Lol

Can you upgrade both people for part of the res and regular the rest? or is that a split reservation (I am not doing that!)
