Ok, we were one of the luckies to have scored FD pin yesterday. I'm staying at POFQ, and we're only in the parks for 2 days, so we opted for the QS dining. Now I'm wondering if I should upgrade? If you upgrade, is it $13 per person per day? Or total? And does that allow you 2 sit down meals per day?

I give up! Tired of calling & getting less than magical CM's. Hopefully I'll get an email but I am not calling anymore. Some of the CM's make you feel like they are being bothered to look through a computer. Oh well.

With WDW or any business I call....I can usually tell when they answer, how things are going to go Some just have enthusiastic voices, etc.

It is $13/person/day and you would get one qs meal and one ts meal. Not 2 sit down meals.

We have been going to Disney as a family since 2005. I am registered on every Disney site there is and I have NEVER received an email pin code. It seems to be a completely random process.

We were transferred to Alabama in 1986. My Dad was one of the first chemical engineers they transferred to the Burkeville, Alabama plant from the G.E. plant in Mt. Vernon. I still have friends and family in Mt. Vernon. Most of my extended family is in Evansville and Carmi, Illinois.

That being said, I'm not going to waste valuable park time leaving WDW property looking for a cheap meal. I think that's the huge appeal of the DDP for most people.

When switching resorts when already booked with a PIN or PROMO code:

a) the resort you wish to go to MUST not only have availability .. but .. availability on the same offer code that you are booked with currently.

b) Trying to switch resorts once the original 'book by' date for your offer has passed cannot be done by the folks on the front lines of the Reservation Center. They will show zero availability across all properties once the book by date has passed. Don't fret tho, you call and ask for Guest Services to change your reservation and if there's avail left on the closed promo they can usually do it.

Thanks for the info. If we don't get free dining, I'm considering upgrading to AKL or WL with the pin we're booked in since it would be less than $400 more. Now I know what I have to do if I want to see about it.

Just curious.....would you all have been paying for the dining plan if a offer had not come out? I guess to me it is worth it only if you intended to buy the dining anyway.

Yes. We booked using the pin I got for 35% off CBR and we added the DDP too. FD would save us another $300 and my parents and grandparents in the other room another $850. Even if they only offer QSD at mods and we upgrade to DDP it will still save us some money. For us the DDP isn't about saving the most money we possibly can, I know we can eat cheaper than the cost of the DDP. But it's more about having an enjoyable vacation where we can eat what we want to rather than trying to pinch every penny. If we ate the same meals OOP, then the DDP does save us money and that's why we get it, for the convenience and what we do save vs. buying the same stuff OOP.

He works for Mt. Vernon Barge Service located in the Southwind Maritime Center....right when you get into Mt. Vernon. This is probably a shot in the dark since you moved in 1986 and without actually naming names in a public forum....do you happen to know anyone with the last name Word?

I got a FD pin today that doesnt end until 11/18 but it's so new it's not bookable yet. I called and the cm told me to wait for the email to be able to use it!!! Yay!

Now that is VERY interesting!!! What kills me though is that I have PINS but never get emails about them....so how am i supposed to know when they can be booked???
