Free admission on your birthday intro + FAQ + gift card T&C

Only selected Disneyland/California Adventure stores and World of Disney. No restaurants. You can use them for guided tours too. I'm not sure about purchasing tickets with them though.

Is there an official list anywhere for the places you can use the card? I just keep hearing that it's only certain places but haven't heard what those places are. Did anyone post the list or give a link? Maybe I missed it.

I didn't read everything, but wanted to add for the FAQ, that a government adoption record is considered acceptable proof of birth date as well. This will probably occur in few cases, but my son's birth certificate is in another language, and we have not yet recieved his US one from the state (can be up to a year to process). I confirmed with multiple people that a certified adoption record (listing the birth date, obviously) will be accepted.

There's no list of places to use it. Just lists of exclusions.

The person replied that her mom did not use it on food, but didn't address the mention of 15%. So iIm confused.

But they've already changed the expiration of it, making it NOT expire (I think that's CA specific, and I think the WDW fun cards still expire), so I wouldn't be surprised if they kept on changing it.

honestly if they'd just hire me to work out all the hitches things would be MUCH better. Always get a Libra in there to think of all the problems that could crop up!

I bolded areas that I think are key definers.
1. 2. The Birthday Fun Card is also not accepted at Walt Disney World® Resort Operating Participant locations, including but not limited to, China, Japan, and Morocco pavilions at World Showcase in Epcot®, Arribas Brothers, Basin, Basin White, Cirque du Soleil, Curl by Sammy Duval, Ghiradelli, House of Blues, Hoypoloi, LEGO Imagination Center, Magic Masters, Magnetron, Niki Bryan Spas, Orlando Harley Davidson Store, Planet Hollywood, Rainforest Cafe, Richard Petty Driving Experience, Rubio Balloon Arts, SD Watersports, Sosa Cigar, Starabillias, Sunglass Icon, Surrey Bike Rental, Virgin Megastore, Wyland Galleries and any other locations or kiosks that are not owned and operated by the owners of the Walt Disney World® Resort.

I would bring that and maybe just bring his original birth certificate just in case. Many DLR CMs are multilingual, and if need be, they could probably find someone to verify the original birth certificate.

The gift card cannot be used at Marcelines Confectionery, unless that rule has changed.

The gift card cannot be used at Marcelines Confectionery, unless that rule has changed.

Marceline's Confectionery is stated as accepting it right in the official guidelines.

...or at Downtown Disney® District locations except World of Disney®Store, Marceline's Confectionery, Disney Vault 28 and Disney's Pin Traders

Apparently, there has been a little misunderstandings of part of this offer, as a notice was posted to CMs clarifying this.

The Alternative Gift offers are available to holders of non-blackout Disneyland Resort Annual Passports or to holders of Multi-Day ParkHopper Tickets.

Holders of One-Day, One-Park Tickets, and One-Day ParkHopper Tickets are not eligible to receive the Alternative Gifts. The only thing they can get is the Free Admission on Your Birthday offer, which allows them to postpone the use of their already purchased ticket to a future date.

I know what I read regarding this gift card. I believe these rules must have changed at some point. For Marcleines most definitely was listed as not being one of the locations that this card could be used at. Others that post here, also read the same thing. So maybe Disney needs to make up their minds as to what is what, for their rules, instead of changing them.

Per a post on mouseplanet, by a guy whose name makes you think he works in Tomorrowland, but he actually works in tickets....

"Want another fun tweek they gave us now? Block-Out Tickets are now (again) valid to qualify for the alternate offers."

Incorrect information is now being posted in other threads.

The first post of this thread is continually updated as new information comes in.

So I have another question, I think it's been answered before and/or someone has already done it.

If I have an AP and I want the Fun Card, can I just go to City Hall and get it there and avoid the lines out front?

Okay, I have two questions, and it's driving me crazy, as I can't seem to find anyone at DLR who can answer them.....

The first is, can you pay to upgrade the free pass to a hopper? If so, how much?

The second is, someone said that if you go within a 2fer time, that the bday person gets a 2fer. My question is if you get a 2fer ticket, are you able to wait until just before your 2fer expires before upgrading, or do you have to do it on your bday?

When you say you can't find anyone at DLR to answer your question, I'm curious who you called. Your first question is very simple. It's even answered in the FAQs on Disneyland's web site.

"Q: Can I upgrade my free admission?
A: Yes, you can be upgraded to a ticket type of equal or greater value. However, you are responsible for any additional cost, and the new ticket may be used only by you."

As for your second question, I had not heard the 2fer ticket is being given as the birthday admission, but if this is true, you can upgrade tickets as long as they are still valid. So... that would be up through the use of the 2nd park in the case of a 2fer.

The FAQ, with corrections and updates, is, and will always be in the first post of this thread.

As for the second question, it appears to be if a So. Cal resident goes on their birthday during the 2fer promotion, must the person upgrade on that same day, or can it be done at a later time?

The answer wasn't hard to find on the Disney site, and has been added to this thread. Unfortunately, as is often the case, the language Disney uses is not completely clear:

Tickets must be upgraded before full use, or fully unused tickets may be upgraded by June 3, 2009. Upgraded Annual Passport will be valid from the first day of use of the 2fer Ticket.

It looks like you could upgrade when going to the parks for the second time, but your AP would be backdated to your first admission date.
