I have been otherwise preoccupied on the Freebie thread so I haven't checked in here in a couple of days. (And Madd lured me over with the JD pics! ) It sound like things are kinda outta sorts for just about everybody! I hope the week goes better for each and every one of you.

Kittymarcy-I like the idea about making a celebration out of it! Make him feel special in a good way!

Kellie-I hope you are feeling better each day. I know its been a long road but just hang in there! And we are all here for you. :grouphug:

IAHD-I hope you have a wonderful vacation! Oh and here is a Home smiley for you from an earlier post! Just thought I'd share it since I just found it!

We will be leaving Thursday for Cypress Gardens (just two days). Its no Disney but I will take it! And DH REALLY needs a break from work! He had to fly to Miami today and comes back tomorrow, but of course that means not much sleep for me tonight!

mmmk-my DH is out of town too.:sad2: It's harder for me to get to sleep because I get a little paranoid, but when I finally do I sprawl out over the whole bed and end up sleeping better than ever.:lmao:

Same here-its paranoia! We are getting a dog in two weeks because I will feel safer having one! (the ferret just isn't working out well as the guard dog! :rotfl: )

Madd....I might need to suck on one of those if he's lighten it

Holy moly - I just had to sneak over and check out the JD pics. I am at home now so I can drool away, at least while DH isn't looking! :lmao: I am ex-smoker and cannot stand the smell anymore, but for him I could start again! :rotfl:

Thanks for all the pics, Mad - you rock!

And hi to everyone else!
-Gabrielle

PS - you can post all the JD pics you want on the freebie board - free chills & goosebumps, if you know what I mean!

I'll get in that line too! (I can picture a line of freaps waiting for JD, bargaining freebies to get a spot up in line!)

We keep planning to get another dog as well since mine died in the fall.:sad2: We just haven't found the perfect one yet. I feel a lot better having a dog around because at least they would bark and give you some warning. That and we get raccoons and possums that get on the porch and rummage through the recycling. I hate waking up to a mess.:headache: As for security while DH is away, I'm a firm believer in the 2nd Amendment. I feel sorry for anyone that does try to get in the house.:lmao:

Marna.....I have come to the realization we may have been separated at birth:lmao: :rotfl2:

Wrecking havoc!:lmao:

Anyone ever been to Charleston SC? Looking for a weekend vacation within driving distance of Atlanta :car: - DH is on a new job with no vacation time yet. Disney is kind of far for just 2 or 3 days - too tiring! Someone suggested that Charleston is cool for kids, but I have no clue. :confused3

Oh, and I concur - JD looks particularly "hot" lighting up! :smokin:

I was in Charleston a few years back- but I do not have kiddies.

Personally I prefer Savannah over Charleston:yay:

Ya just kinda know your gonna have a bad day when you wake up late (7:50 and need to be to work for 8:00AM), get to work to find out the receptionist called in sick and you need to cover her spot, and then a person walks in and exclaims "I cut the tip of my finger off" :scared1: Yes, it is NOT gonna be a good day :rotfl:

UhOh! A point Madd and I disagree on.:lmao: I like both cities a lot but prefer Charleston. I love the market and the park right on the Battery with giant swings to sit on and watch the boats go by. There are some awesome restaurants and really cool cemeteries to explore. We haven't taken the kids before but are planning to during our camping trip to Edisto Island in late September. My sister lives in SC and they take their kids quite often. I know they like the aquarium and thre is a battleship you can go on or take a ferry across to Ft. Sumter.

IAHD-hope the missing fingertip is the worse part of the day and it goes uphill from there.

Wow! Working from home, I really "miss" that kind of excitement. Hang in there. :surfweb:

I'm so sorry about your doggy! :sad1: We have a local pet shelter we visited over the weekend and they had a lot of great dogs, but we are going on two different trips in two weeks time so we want to wait till we get home next week before we get one. At least DH was just gone one night!

I was up at 3 this morning getting a free Saving Grace T-shirt because I couldn't sleep! Might as well get something free while I am sleepless!

While I don't have a gun (I'm not against them, I just don't have one),I do have a BIG and HEAVY flashlight next to my bed!

(I realize I should've just multi-quoted in one post, but I am tired this morning so bare with me!)

Although I have never been Charleston I do have to chime in and say I loved Savannah too! I have a three year old and she and I really enjoyed going around the city. WE stayed at the Hampton Inn on MLK and It was quite nice and a great location.

Great food too! We went to Ms. Wilkes Boarding house one day to eat-lined up about 45 minutes before it opened. Lot of fun sitting with people from all over and sharing a meal with them. I also liked the Pirate House for food.

The Children's Museum is nice as well.
