How was the beach Madd?

We did not get to the beach- we rarely do when we go down the shore anymore.

I would not mind going with just me and DH, but, when we have the whole family- can you say........Caravan.....we should have camels in tow! My one SIL does not believe in the word "minimal" when it comes to the beach. It is quite embarassing! She packs enough crap like we will be stranded there on the beach for a week.

Give me a sheet, a towel and bottled water and I am good for the whole day!

:cool1: You go with your gift cards!:lmao:

You know what is scary- the stupid people keep breeding!:scared1: There will be no end to them- it is like an infestation!

Everyone laughs at me- but I am looking to buy some real estate on the moon! Anyone who wishes to join me will need to have an extensive background check in case there is any stupidity- OR rudeness that may run in the family:lmao:

I am up to $225 in gas cards....about 2/3 of the gas for our trip down & back from Disney next fall is now paid for!!!! Gas calculators put it around $350 right now but I would like $500 to be safe and throw in some driving around, detours, and such.

If you could send me the form to fill out for space on the moon, I'm in :thumbsup2 It just amazes me sometimes how clueless some people really are. When they open their mouth you would think the sound a balloon makes when you are letting out the air would come out but instead it's just this ramble of nonsense :confused3

I have to print out several reports when I go to work in the AM - esp. Mondays - catchup up on admissions over the weekend, pull authorizations, check patient status, etc. IF we lose power we have to reboot this 1 computer - in the office managers office. Stupid place to T the system off of seeing as how her office is locked up when she's not there and she comes in an hour after some of us. So I get to work and the power went down over the weekend - thunderstorms. I ask the HR woman to open my office because she has a key and that is what I am supposed to do. Her response is "OH, so & so will be in shortly" I tell her I cannot print any of my reports until I reboot the system (mind you the IT guy showed ME how to do it because I am the only computer savy person in the office  ). She says "yeah well she'll be in shortly and she can do it". I looked at her and just said "gee, thanks alot" and walked away. I guess for the 1st hour of my day I will set and surf the web & DIS because you just made it impossible for me to do my job :headache: You would think I was asking her to open the vault to a million dollars or something. Yes, I handle about $200,000 a month in billables - checks, cash, etc. but I cannot be trusted to handle an unlocked office door :confused3

Ok, the front of the house is now done:

Picture073.jpg

And DH is out there RIPPING the plastic off the windows as I type! :rotfl:

Now....new windows...new front door...new roof....almost there! :rotfl2:
I like the color of the house. Glad you now have sunlight.

Today is just a mess. Venting....:sad1: I am so tired of packing and my DD rooms is a total war zone. We took 6 bags of clothes out of her room to goodwill and there is still more that could go and we haven't even touched the toys or closet yet. I don't remember moving this much stuff here:goodvibes . But on the light side I am the only one home right now and all thats left is her room. I sure need those 3 adult slushes right about now:goodvibes I Hope eveyone else is having a great weekend. I am off to finish DD room.:headache:

I hope everything gets better with the packing.

OMG- did you tell "so & so" to have a little chit chat with ding bat for the next time???:confused3

Me too!!! I need to vent as well. I'm sitting here with my stupid foot propped up and my ankle three times it's normal size.:scared1: As ya'll know I've been running a lot lately (and getting good if I do say so myself) so yesterday I finally decided that I was ready to run a race-just a 5K but I have to start somewhere. This was not a decision I made lightly either. So I decide to go to Sam's Club after work to get a few things and I step out of the car and almost immediately into a huge crack in the pavement. My left foot promptly bent ALL THE WAY TO ONE SIDE!!!!! It took all of my FREAP power to not barf all over the parking lot.:sad2: I guess it's sprained.:confused3 And the worse part is DH is leaving in the morning to go to Asheville,NC for the whole week for a cnference so I won't have any help with anything this week.:headache: . Guess my running career is on hold for a while. I hope everyone else is having a better weekend.:grouphug:
Marna make sure you keep an eye on the foot and ankle. Get it checked out
Okay, Kellie, here it is:

Yah, so & so is aware of what happened but I think sometimes it's the blind leading the blind :confused3 I love my job but there are just some people who you wanna look at and as Homer Simpson would say "Doh"

Hi. Hope everyone's well. I am so bummed. Ok...everyone has much more major things going on - like Kellie and Madd and Marna, and moving, etc. BUT, my baby 3-year old needs glasses! We just found out he has a big astigmatism. This is not going to go away. I tried to pick cute ones:

Alesia - I love that pink ribbon hat. My mom lives in FL, but I may still have to order one for her. :lovestruc

Oh...that's too bad. Poor little guy. How did you find out about it? My DH has had glasses since he was about 5 and it has never interfered with his life. He played college level soccer, used to parachute a lot and fought forest fires for many, many years. And think about how cute Ralphie was in "The Christmas Story".:rotfl2: Sorry, I don't mean to make jokes about it, I just have an odd sense of humor. I do hope he adjusts to the glasses and soon no one will even think twice about it.

I am sure you picked real cute glasses and my DD has been wearing glasses since she was 4.5 and it has stopped her from doing anything. My only word of advice is good scratch resistant lens and stretchy frames kids are hard on glasse.

Oh, I think the little kids with glasses look sooooooo cute  I don't think it's as much of a thing that the kids make fun of anymore....I know that would be the 1st thing that would cross my mind, that I didn't want anyone making fun of my babies but sooo many kids are diagnosed with some type of sight problem so much earlier now that it's common for many kids to be wearing them in elementary grades. And think on the positive side that at least your child will be able to see the board in school instead of finding out after he is having issues in class.

You are such a great mom. These things really tug at our hearts, don't they? Remember, he probably has no sad feelings about it, may even be excited if he knows someone else with glasses ;) . Make a celebration out of it when he gets his pair :cheer2: .

Oh, I think the little kids with glasses look sooooooo cute  .

OMG! ME TOOOOOOO! They are so adorable with glasses. I know parents are not thinking about the adorable aspect of it, nor is the child- but they do look so cute.

Kitty- maybe when he gets old enough- he can wear contacts- I am pretty sure they make them for people with astigmatisms.

I think the glasses you picked out are cool!

AND! Let me leave you with this b/c everyone's problems count! I will never EVER forget this saying from Ally McBeal, and I Googled it JUST to be sure I got it right, word for word.

When Georgia asked Ally why she operates as if her problems were more important than everyone else's,
Ally replied, "Because they're mine."

You are all so sweet - thank you! :grouphug:

His pediatrician caught it at his 3-year old check up, re-tested him 6 weeks later, wasn't happy & sent him to the pediatric optrician. You are right - I think he will look adorable, but yes - the first thing that came to my mind was "oh god, the kids are going to make fun of him" and then "oh god, how is he going to play soccer when he turns 5?" I keep getting teary eyed about it. Great idea about making it a celebration. My mom could tell I was bummed about it and doesn't want me to pass along that sentiment to him, so she called him yesterday and was really positive and excited that he was getting glasses. I found some books on Amazon that I am going to order today - about Magenta (from blues clues) and Arthur getting glasses. The glasses are not cheap - $250 for his first pair - yikes! I wanted a cool plastic frame, but they convinced me to get metal because they give more and are more adjustable. I was thinking of getting a copy of his perscription and going over to walmart for a 2nd pair. I saw a lot of cute ones there when I was getting my contacts.

OH - and by the way...my 5 year old named the new kitty....Kitty Skywalker. :rotfl: Yes, it's a mouthful, but it's what he wanted and every kid should get to name a pet, right?

Check with the place you purchase his glasses at for any warranties or guarantees and/or if they offer insurance. Kids are notorious for sitting on, throwing, etc. there glasses and there are some places that will fix/repair/replace them at no charge (or the insurance plan cost). With young ones it will pay for itself!!! Between scratching the lenses, bending the arms, etc.

And Kitty Skywalker :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Now you just need a chubby kitty to call Jabba :rotfl:

I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so excited

As of Friday 5PM I am officially on vacation....YAY #1

My DH is a major Patriots fan and thus Michael & Victoria are too...Michael is Mr. Jockboy and as he gets each players Jersey he manages to come up with yet another player he wants  I had to finally tell him at $60 a pop he wasn't going to have the whole teams Jerseys :scared1: His room is also in the process of being redone in a Pats theme (IF I ever finish I'll post pics!). Well unbenownst to the kids I (DH knows) have planned a trip to Foxboro stadium to watch the Patriots training as well as partake in their "Patriots Experience" a playground for the kids that includes face painting, possible autograph potentials, guest appearances by the cheerleaders (for DH's ;) ) etc. The kids know we are doing day trip stuf next week and they have been informed there will be a surprise but they have NO CLUE!!!! I am bursting at the seams to tell them but I know holding out to see the look on their faces will be priceless! They've never been to a "major" stadium before so this will be quite the trip for them!!!!

You must take lots of pics! And thanks for the insurance advice - I will ask! Our 7-month old kitty is getting huge...he'd make a good jabba, although my son calls jabba "the worm guy."

My dd was young when she started wearing glasses. She never was teased or anything. Her friends all thought it was cool.

I'm so excited, I'm so excited, I'm so excited
