FP+ strategy for MK around Halloween?

I can't believe we are actually less than 2 weeks out from our FP booking day...I guess it's time to think strategy. Was hoping we'd know more about the SW fireworks and AK at night by now, but I guess we'll just have to do the best we can. Once again I am asking you pros.

Our trip is Oct. 29 - Nov. 5. Our first MK day is also our first park day, Sun. Oct. 30. This is a party night but we will NOT be attending, so we hope to do RD (or close to it) this day. The next day is our "off" day, but we will be doing MNSSHP in the evening (priority for the party is RIDES and Halloween entertainment, don't really care about characters except MAYBE Jack Sparrow and hope to discourage the kids from trick-or-treating as much as we can, ha). We do plan on going back to the MK on our last day, Nov. 4 - but we will prob spend the first part of that day in Epcot.

So, my main question is how should we arrange our FP's on the 30th (NOT doing party) as opposed to the 31st (will only get 3 FP from 4-7 before party)? Are there rides that are BEST to do during MNSSHP (HM? Is the line for HM during the party crazy long?) This is our first (and probably only) trip to WDW, so everything is new to us, and we want to ride as much as we can. Obviously we should FP the biggies (S Mountain, Splash Mountain, SDMT), but we don't want to run all over the park a billion times either. Would it make sense to do the frontierland area the day of party since we will probably watch the parade from there? Or is that an area to avoid during the party? Should we RD Fantasyland on our first day there (non-party day), or would that be a good area to focus on before MNSSHP on the 31st?

On our first day, I'm thinking we should schedule our FP as early as we can, so that we can hopefully schedule more afterwards (everything will be new to us)? Does this sound like a good plan?

As always, thanks for the advice!
