Fort Lauderdale

We are heading to Ft Lauderdale over the 4th of July and staying at the Sheraton Beachfront hotel. We don't want to get a rental car so we are looking for a few things to do that would be close. Any local disers that could help me out? I also wondered if they set the fireworks off over the ocean so we can see from our hotel or if we have to go somewhere else to see them.

I use to live north of FLL and love to visit and take cruses from there. Check out Las Olas Blvd. There is shopping and resturants there. A cute place to walk around. Check out the water taxi along the Intercoastal waterway. You can hop on and off at the different stops all day until late into the night. It's fun to see the mansions and yachts and get around to different areas in FLL. All day pass in 20.00 and picks up at Las Olas Blvd. watertaci.com is available for more info.

They have a 4th festival at Las Olas as well with entertainment and fireworks over the intercoastal waterway.

Another thing to do if you're in town over the weekend is watch the cruise ships leave from Port Everglades. You will be able to see them from the beach.
