Former Lasagne Lovers Meet Here!!!

Yes, we know we are in the twilight zone when Sci Fi is an ADR we're calling for at 7am.

We have done Cinderella's breakfast before and I intended to skip it but my niece (19) never got to go and wanted to. It has really gone up in price too!

The cruise should be fun. I was so surprised because it was my second call at about 8:15. I thought for sure they would say none were left. I got lucky with it and it will be a nice way to get away from the crowds for awhile.

That's what I was thinking, only you stated it much more nicely than I was thinking. :rotfl2: I loved Sci-Fi atmosphere; the food, not so much.

Haha, I first went to CRT in my 20s, so age be darned! We'd never eaten there before, and I wanted to go. I wasn't crazy about all of the food (or the price :scared1: ), but the atmosphere is really what you're paying for anyway. Had to do dinner because I've never cared for meeting face characters. I love the furry characters though, like Chip and Dale, etc.

Glad you got the cruise! We're trying to figure out something special to do this time too, what with all going on lately. Just not sure what to do.

Do you guys know what the little light icons are out on the CB? They are just every few post and if you move the mouse over them they say things. Kinda fun but why are they there?

I didn't see them. I'll keep looking, thought. :goodvibes

SD- We really liked Ohana'a. The eggs we had were creamy. I especially liked that sweet bread, though. Yummy!

awwww! poor larry.

(please tell me there was some nice music in the background and not the sound of a "flush")

ETA: if this was code for something, i haven't a clue what it is.

SD...okay, I missed it. What ADRs do you have?

We had many ADRs on our trip with the DGKs. We only booked one a day when it was just me and DH at Christmas. We had the DxDP with the kids, but bought the 'Tables of Wonderland' card in December.

Hi everyone! I just posted this info on the Pi Beta Alpha thread and I thought that I should share it here, too. I found out that you can send messages to patients on the MD Anderson website. You don't have to give out all the information that they ask for. I just put my DIS user name and email and it seemed to go through all right. You just have to put Honu's real first and last name in the patient information part. The message will be delivered right to Honu! Here's the link:

https://www2.mdanderson.org/sapp/contact/message.cfm

Debbieandroo- Thanks so much for the update! I'll pass on the information to the ladies on the Pi Beta Alpha thread (formerly known as the Unicorn Club thread). I'm really glad to know that Honu seems to be doing OK. Please keep me and the other sorority sisters posted if you hear any more news. I'll do the same for you guys, too. :goodvibes

By the way, did you get my last PM? If you didn't, I'll resend it to you. Please let me know. Thanks!

Thank you so much for the Honu Update!! I missed the mass card mailing - and would love to say hi to her via the email. Can someone PM me with enough info that it will make it to her!?

Thanks!

Breezy are you a TGM member? There is a Breezy on the June thread and I wondered if it might be you.

In all the excitement of the board changes I forgot to tell all of you that I got .......drum roll please ....
Cinderella's Breakfast 8:30,
Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic Dinner Package,
Sci Fi Diner,
and the best of them all a Wishes Fireworks Cruise!!!

Can you even believe that?!!! I was so excited on Sunday. This is going to be such a fun trip.

We aren't scheduling many ADRs this trip:

Coral Reef-2:10
Sci-Fi 3:05
My 15 yo has invited 2 friends as her guests, so 3 15 year olds aren't that into eating. I want to lose 5 lbs-maybe I'll lose it on this trip! I have the concierge working on a Cinderella but that's a long shot.

SD- We really liked Ohana'a. The eggs we had were creamy. I especially liked that sweet bread, though. Yummy!
Thanks for the review!

The better question might be "What ADRs do you not have?" Oh. My. Word. We each wanted to add a restaurant here or there, and before I knew it, this became our ADR list:

California Grill
Hollywood Brown Derby
Whispering Canyon Café
Afternoon Tea at Gardenview Lounge
Coral Reef
Le Cellier
Chef Mickey’s (only breakfast we have scheduled)
Chefs de France
Tony’s Town Square Café
Liberty Tree Tavern

That is just too danged much for me, 8 full days or no. We're light eaters, so it makes no sense for us to do the DDP. But regardless, that's way more TS than I'm used to. We somehow managed 8 places in the parks and resorts last year, but that was rough. We also have plans to eat at Rainforest and Planet Hollywood. :scared: I'm thinking of all the park time that's going to be eaten up and I want to  , but at the same time, I can't talk myself into cutting anything out. HBD, Chefs, Chef Mickey's are our "standards;" this'll be the 4th year in a row we've eaten at all 3 places. We've eaten at Chefs all but 2 trips in my 10 times going down there. We loved Tony's, Le Cellier, and tea last year, so we want to go back to all three. My dad loves seafood (Coral Reef) and ribs (Whispering Canyon), my mom requested California Grill (did that in 2006), and I wanted lunch at LTT for their pasta. I so wanted to try Ohana's and Marrakesh (for dessert) just to see the place, but 12 ADRs? :faint: I'm having a hard enough time getting used to the idea of 10.

I agree, that is a lot of food!!!!!

So does any one else watch TV at 5 pm eastern?
I really enjoy one channel.
So maybe music from the 70's
3 Dog Night or the Eagles
i really liked them both

I like TV at 5:00, but I don't always get off in time to watch much. But, when I do, I find it captivating.

Eagles

You didn't ask, but I like The Who, too.

I had jelly shoes when I was a kid. I was also 5. I was adorable!

Thanks, you make me feel old....:sad1:

:rotfl2: BAND, dork. Not show. (Hope you don't mind me calling you dork...it's a term of endearment in my house, honestly :flower3:)

And I'll go against the flow and say Eagles, too.

Pink Floyd or Yes?

:rotfl2: I thought about the show, also, since it comes on USA at 5:00am now...

Pink Floyd.

And, in fact, Wonder - both you and Dolce inspired me to take my own solo trip in April - I was able to go with a fabulous group of friends in January and now I'm ready to take WDW on by myself. It'll be great to get a different perspective....gotta love that AP upgrade.

but what's up with all that band stuff? In M-town, there's only one name that matters:

elvis_presley_concert1.jpg

note the sideburns - lovin' them...would you call them 'hamheads'? 'Pork chops' - whatever you name them,:love::love:

About Honu -- I called MD Anderson and she just left surgery a couple of hours ago and is in recovery. I wasn't brave enough to ask how she was doing -- something about calling every hour and talking to the same nice lady does that to you. From what I gathered through our many conversations is that nothing's unusual [I mean, the fact that she's in recovery rather than intensive care seems like a good sign].

I've been so nervous about this the past week - I can't imagine what she and her parents must be going through!!!!

Thanks for the update, Debbie.

Update on my friend! I confronted her today and she broke down crying poor thing. Turns out she's recently been dx with bi-polar disorder and is now on meds. Poor thing. She admitted to me that she is jealous of our mutual friends and just got to a breaking point. Ah well, needless to say I'll be praying for her. If I could ask y'all to pray too, that might help. Thanks in advance. :goodvibes

That's sad, and yes I will.

Wow, you leave town for a couple of months and everything changes. Oh well. Thanks for the add, Wonder, I never would have found this otherwise. I hope it is okay for me to really quickly say that a certain former pastor and former Arkansas executive came to my school today and spoke in chapel, and I was three rows away from him. :woohoo: All of my Facebook friends can see pictures if they want. They'll be crappy, though.

Okay, I'm finished with that.
I will look for you in fb through maybe mutual friends. Didn't know if pm was a good way to go these days.

Well, let's put it this way - I had the best breakfast I've ever had at Ohanas. :teeth:

I hope dinner is good, there. I got an adr there in June.

Breezy are you a TGM member? There is a Breezy on the June thread and I wondered if it might be you.

I haven't booked all of mine either. It does seem like a lot.

I have:
O'Hana
Le Cellier
Coral Reef
Wofgang Puck
Boma
Teppan Edo
Yak & Yetti

I hope these are all good. We've only tried WP. DH loved it, so I did that one for him. I want the sushi so that works for me also.

I agree, that is a lot of food!!!!!
You haven't seen the CS and snack cart list! It goes something like this:

Earl of Sandwich
Auntie Gravity’s
Columbia Harbor House
Pizzafari
Anandapur Tea Company
Captain Cook's (at the Poly, for the Tonga Toast)
Kringla Bakery
Sunshine Seasons
Casey’s Corner
Main Street Bakery
French Bakery (whatever its name is)
Aloha Isle
Sunshine Tree Terrace
The Lunching Pad
Beaches ‘n Cream

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Just roll me back home, thanks. :rotfl2: I have no clue how I'm going to eat all this stuff! :scared1: We manage to eat light, but still. Examples: At HBD, my mom and I will split a Cobb Salad, and the three of us will share a piece of grapefruit cake. At Chefs, we'll each order soup and split an entree three ways. We eat granola bars or a small pastry of some sort each morning in the room for breakfast, with the exception of our Chef Mickey's ADR day. But for a skinny person like me, this is still too much food. I gained 9 pounds last trip! I hate to see what the total will be this time. :rotfl:

uh, I'm going to WDW with you guys! Man, those are some great eatin' possibilities!!!!

O'hana's for breakfast, hmmm....I had already planned to go to Boma one morning and it sounds like I might make another breakfast plan....thanks for the recommendations!

Are you going to Boma's for lunch or dinner? We went for breakfast and it was so good. I love the variety of foods that they have.

:thumbsup2 that's why I'm going - breakfast is my favorite meal of the day :cloud9:

Are you going to Boma's for lunch or dinner? We went for breakfast and it was so good. I love the variety of foods that they have.

I have it for dinner on our first night since we are going to get there mid afternoon. I wanted to find something at a resort and we are at AKV.

I may try for breaksfast sometime, too. It sounds good since we can experiment a little.

Dinner. I'm afraid I wouldn't feel like walking much after. I was so excited to get all the places I wanted so far. Last year, we couldn't get into half of them. I love mushrooms so that sounds like a good choice for me.

Ooh, Earl of Sandwich is really good.
I haven't trie Beaches 'n Cream-that might be good for us also.
Puck Express was good. It's a lot of food for a CS.

Hi everyone! I have great news about Honu. Soarin posted this on the Pi Beta Alpha thread. This is so awesome!!! :woohoo::cool1::banana:

If anyone wants an update on Honu, I have it!!!! She called me about an hour ago!!!!!!!! That's right, she CALLED me!!! She's very alert and she said she's in zero pain! I couldn't believe it when my phone showed an incoming call from her! She spent quite a while in recovery but is in her room resting now. She said she'd call me again tomorrow if she's feeling up to it. But pain-free less than 24 hours post-op is a great sign, don't you ladies think?

Thank you God for answering all of our prayers. (It's not taboo for me to say that, is it? If it is, TOO BAD 'cause I already said it!!!) And thank you, Mr. Hot Surgeon Guy!!! You obviously did a wonderful job! :worship:

magnificent!!!!! Thank you very much!!!

Thank you so much for the Honu Update!! I missed the mass card mailing - and would love to say hi to her via the email. Can someone PM me with enough info that it will make it to her!?

Thanks for the Honu update, Debbie. I'm sure she'll be thrilled when she gets the package! :cool1: Oh, and I'm glad that you got the PM. I just wanted to make sure because I've sent some people PMs and found out later that they never got them. :confused3 Thanks for PMing me back. :thumbsup2

All right, I'd better get to sleep now. Bye for now! :wave2:

AWESOME NEWS ABOUT HONU :banana::banana: Thanks for the UPDATE!!

Well, let's put it this way - I had the best breakfast I've ever had at Ohanas. :teeth:

The juice is awesome. I will also highly recommend Donald's Breakfast at AK. The food was wonderful - dare I say I even liked it a tad better than Ohana.

Thanks for the review!

We loved Coral Reef - was scared because of prior reviews on the Dining Board here - but we all had a wonderful dinner. As for Marrakesh - skip it and try Tangierine Cafe -- my sister, BIL, and I all thought it was 100 times better than Marrakesh (they have the desserts too).

My dad was just diagnosed with bipolar. Not a fun thing to deal with. He went manic at the end of last year and I had never seen him so out of control in my life. I had to go stay at my aunt's house for a week since I was living at home at the time. She's definitely be in my prayers.

Yes, its a very serious disorder -- not something to be taken lightly.
