OK, for everyone who is all upset, please consider this. When you take into account that this must be a SILVER dream maker package (at least that's what I am understanding), you can get a MUCH better deal on a 7 day package than this offer. I keep seeing people say that their family won't get to take a Disney vacation if they can't get this offer and I kept thinking "if you can afford to pay for a NONDISCOUNTED 4 night dream maker package, you can probably afford to do 5 nights with a code and discounted tickets. It's in my nature to break things down so when a friend called this morning asking me to let her know about AP rates when they come out b/c Disney called her to let her know she wasn't elligible for this deal after she had already booked it (I posted the details on the budget board), I had to run the #s for her. Now that people are saying it must be a silver plan...you can do 7 nights FOR LESS than this "3 nights free" deal.

Here is a breakdown for WL and for All Stars in early May for a family w/ 2 adults and 2 kids ages 3-9, all prices assuming standard view rooms:

-WL Visa Silver Dream Maker Package (7 for the price of 4 deal; I got the price by pricing out a 4 night silver dream maker package on Disney's web site): $2885.40
-WL w/ 7 nights @ rack rates and 7 day PHP tickets bought at the cheapest price I could find: $2608.29
-WL w/ 7 nights @ AP rates (based on last year's May rates) and 1 adult AP, 1 adult & 2 kids 7 day PHP tickets: $2123.27

-All Stars Visa Silver Dream Maker Package: $2263.40 (notice you can spend the same amount of time at the WL for LESS if one of you buys an AP and AP rates come out? not such a good deal anymore, huh?)
-All Stars 7 nights rack rates, 7 day PHP: $1831.29
-All Stars 7 nights AP rates, 1 AP and 7 day PHP: $1614.79



Even if for some reason you were able to book a regular dream maker package, you could still do a 7 night vacation with 1 AP and AP rates for not a lot more!
All Stars Visa Dream Maker (NO SILVER PLAN): $1439.40
All Stars 7 nights AP rates, 1 AP and 7 day PHP: $1614.79

WL Visa Dream maker (NO SILVE PLAN): $2061.40
WL 7 nights AP rates, 1 AP and 7 day PHP: $2123.27

I guess, IMHO, if it has to be a SILVER plan, it's not a good deal at all. Even w/ a regular dream maker package, it's not as huge as some people feel it is.

You don't have to get the silver dream maker. It's the normal dreamaker deal except you get 7 nights for the price of 4 and $100 Disney Dollars at check in.

Oh, so you mean Disney Visas new incentive to get a card is that it is giving a discount on the packages? And you don't qualify for this discount if you already have a card?

I buy an AP to go to the parks, not for the discounts, after all an AP IS FOR ADMISSION TO THE PARK, the discounts are a perk. I am a Florida Resident and can also get discounts that way. And no I wouldn't be upset if Disney stopped that as well. I don't book a room and hope for a discount, so I would just book a room that I could afford.

Honestly, I might be disappointed but when you consider that the AP rates on resorts were never guaranteed (and package discounts like this weren't guaranteed w/ Disney Visa either, they only said "special offers" not "heavily discounted (which I still say this isn't in comparison to room only and PHP tickets) packages"), I'd deal with it.

I'd say that's just the way the ball bounces. As AP holders, the FTP package offered last year was of no use to us, but that's just the way it is. Some deals they offer work for us, some don't.


Funny thing about the Disney Club..... If you did a search for posts on the DC before it was discontinued, you'd find nothing but gripes and complaints about how useless it was. Now that's it gone, everyone complains that they did away with it and how much they loved it.

Well, since I am not entitled to that discount either. I signed up for the Disney Visa on the promise that I would "Save on Disney Vacations and Merchandise" and the promise that I would recieve "Special Discounts on vacation packages and More" according to Disney's website.

Did they fulfill thier promises to the consumer? No.

There is very little benefit to having the card. That is the complaint.

It wouldn't bother me at all, because I buy the Seasonal AP because it's a good deal in and of itself. Any discounts it gets me are just gravy.

I guess I missed the part in your quotes where it guarantees you will get to receive every discount Disney offers at any time. Looks like people are reading a lot more into these "promises" than is really there.

Sure they have, you just don't like them.

In every statement there have been offers of one kind or another. Most of them weren't all that great imo, but they never made specific promises of how significant the discounts and offers would be.

I just talked to WDW travel about this. I have a Dis visa day one card,and did not get the package. She said I needed to be a new card holder... B.S. They need to Bring back Disney club card....... I will not be getting a new Disney Visa just for this promotion...........

When most of us Day 1 members applied for our disney visa we did so because we thought (according to what was promoted at the time) that we would receive promotional offers to WDW along with 1% disney rewards. Well, the promotional offers never happened, until just recently. The faithful, loyal card members who only used their Disney Visa, were totally locked out of this offer.
I don't want the savings of hundreds of dollars compared to a pin, cd, or a blouse on sale in a store. The whole deal just stinks. Now do I choose to go to WDW AGAIN this year after the way they and bank one just treated me? I'm on the fence. If I don't hear back from Bank One I will cancel my credit card. I just don't like their kind of business. And I don't have to stand for it, either.

I’m not trying to hi-jack your thread or anything but I am curious about the following.

Being Canadian the Visa is not available to us. However my guess is that the Visa comes with a high interest rate and in order to enjoy the Disney benefits of the card my guess is that you must book using your Visa. If this is the case then they are hoping that you will not pay your visa when it comes due because the interest you will be paying in the long run will far out weigh ay savings.

It seems that in Canada any credit card which offers some incentive such as Air-Miles, GM Point, Ford Point etc all come with a high carrying cost. Just curious if the Disney Card was the same.

Disney has done deals through the Bank One card, it is fullfilling its promise. You just don't happen to like what has been offered. And you are saving on vacations and merchandise with your reward dollars, plus whatever discounts come out. Disney didn't say each discount one would be applicable to everyone and that everyone would be joyously celebrating said discounts. Should I be upset that I can't get to Broadway to enjoy the Broadway show perks? Should I be upset that I don't have a Disney Store near me, so I can't use the Disney store discounts (most of which can't be used online)?

I don't know the specific offerings cuz when I see Disney Store I just skip over it. I know there have been some promotions with double or triple points.

If I don't hear back from Bank One I will cancel my credit card. I just don't like their kind of business. And I don't have to stand for it, either.

Bank One has nothing to do with the deals offered by Disney.

Disney did not fulfill its promise and I should be OK with that.

I did not buy a lotter ticket so I did not expect to win. I did however enter an agreement with Disney Visa and I am not happy that they are not providing the consumer with any discounts as promised.

Bank One has nothing to do with the deals offered by Disney.

Have you been following the fallout of this whole fiasco since Saturday? Bank One and Disney are in this together. I have spoken to supervisors at both BankOne and Disney. Before you go quoting me again, if I don't like what they offer and how they do business, it is my choice to move on. That's it.
