For Those Mad About Disney Visa's

Please don't compare teddy bears and chocolates with three free nights (including park admission) at WDW! This can be worth hundreds of dollars to people (depending how they like to go.) That's like the customer service rep comparing people who get angry about CDs vs DVDs as sign-up promotions (a $10 difference?). This is a MUCH bigger deal.

I get the point about different promotions being offered at different times. But this might be the difference to some between being able to attend WDW or not.

This is why we signed up Day 1!

E-mail sent to VISA.

Crankyshank...I agree with what everyone else said in response to your post.....

Sorry.. guess I am behind the times.. what is the deal that is offered only to new cardholders? I can't seem to find the info??

It's like the Fairytale package last Fall. Buy 4 nights get three free...Dreamaker package and $100 Disney Dollars at check in.

I too was a former Disney Club member but when they changed to the Disney Visa offered by Bank One, I was out of luck. Why? I don't qualify to get the credit card. I do understand why card holders are upset that this offer is only made to new applicants. However, I just wanted to point out that there is another large group of Disney vacationers that were impacted by Disney's decision to eliminate the Disney Club which was open to all and replace it with a credit card that is only available to credit worthy Disney fans.

I too am a DV Day 1 cardholder who is very upset that this deal is being offered only to new cardholders (and from my understanding it is only certain new cardholders.) It would be very different if the package was offered to everyone with perhaps a little extra perk to new cardholders but there are "0" offers for the rest of us. Kids stay and play free was even a joke for many of us who have kids over 10 (and doesn't the room cost the same amount whether there are 2 adults or 2 adults/2kids, so where is the stay free part?).

I am also a Disney shareholder. I guess I am supposed to be happy with the free exclusive shareholder's watch they are offering me to sign up for a new Disney Visa.

Have to agree with SondraD11. I also had the DC card but didn't get approval for the new Disney Visa card. Last summer I kept reading the threads from DVC owners that they felt bad since they had already gotten APs for their stays and the FTP wouldn't do them any good. So, what did I do? Bought into DVC. And I was one of the lucky ones that used the FTP last summer. The FTP listed on the official Disney site is not the same one the Visa card applicants are being offered. The one listed is not a terrific deal. I really believe that Disney will be offering the FTP to everyone down the road. When you compare it to APs it's comparing apples and oranges. Anyone is able to buy an AP but not everyone can get the Disney Visa card. What's really funny, is that I got a mailing from DIsneyVIsa last week and just tossed it in the trash. Figured that they turned me down once, why bother?? Be patient...see what happens down the road apiece.

I just e-mailed both Bank One and Disney. Can't wait to get those canned responses...if I get one at all.

I'll pay off my annual passes then cancel the card.Ill put my April trip on my amex live I have for the past 10 years. Their loss not mine(but I will miss the member since day one):(

I emailed Bank One again. Can anyone give me the email address for Disney Guest Relations? Thanks in advance.:D

I just sent a very stern message to Bank One indicating how disappointed I was regarding this package.

They shouldn't descriminate as to who is 'worthy' and who is not.

>>>Remember how it was this past summer when they decided that certain people would be allowed to get PS 90 days out and general public would stay at 60...that lasted about a week because general public realized they'd never get CRT and other prime restaurants and complained loudly.<<

>>but it did change over the summer to 90 days for everyone<<<

At first they said only people with WDTC packages would get the extra advance booking. That is what caused an uproar.

I don't understand why Disney always underestimates the power of the internet. They think they can do things for certain people and no one else will know about it.

Thanks for the email address. I emailed Bank one yesterday and WDW today. I feel a little better though I would feel alot better if I was saving hundreds of dollars for our trip.

I haven't really given this much thought, but couldn't you sign-up for another card, or have your significant other apply. Even if it is a joint account your spouse should be able to apply for a single person account. You could transfer your Disney Dollars to your Spouse's account and make it a joint account later. Then you could cancel your original account. It is a lot of work, but maybe worth the promotion.
ADP :D

That's exactly what I included in my letter to Bank One....."My profession is advertising and marketing..and this is a great marketing tool for new customers....but you are making a huge mistake by alienating your existing client base. Distributing special offers to a select few used to be easy. But now with the internet, you cannot keep special deals like this secret from your current customers. Every Disney chat room, message board and mailing list has been talking about your company in a very unfavorable way since Friday evening. Many people are saying they will call and cancel their cards.

The reason people have the Disney card is to get the best Disney deals. Your interest rates are not good, the 1% rebate matches the least deal out there. You are giving people no reason to keep the card when you offer your best deals to only new customers."

You can tell I was mad at the time. :earsgirl:

I tried that! My husband got one with his and my name so I thought I woud get one for just me.

I did not qualify!!! claimed I have too much credit, and he didnt??
we have the same cards!

oh well, I am glad I got a better deal elsewhere. So much for my
using the Disney Visa, maybe when they get some better deals I will.

You think they would at least give some discount at the disney resturants and disney stores so we would use the visa and not
another form of payment?

Be careful...I was told that just being a NEW cardholder is not enough...you have to have received an insert too.

I have emailed Disney twice and Bank One twice. I will email every day until I get a response from both companies. ;)

I was told by Bank One that just being a new card member didn't automatically give you the deal. They told me that last Friday.

It seems another poster can't get a straight answer from either place.

I talked with a CM today and asked if the offer would be extended to all Disney Visa members and her answer was "we haven't gotten a yes or no answer on that one."
