For Those Mad About Disney Visa's

Thank you for posting the link!

I emailed Bankone also. In fact, thank you, Kaycee. I copied and pasted your message with a few personal changes. Including, I have a Usairway's Visa and it is absolutely a better deal to charge on that card and not the Disney card.

Is there any advantage to charging PAP's at the Disney store on the Disney Visa?

I just emailed Bank One and Disney also! I will post *if* I get any responses!

I am so annoyed at this... if this package is not offered to all.... there will probably not be any trips to Disney for my family this year!!! :(

You are wasting your time writing to Bank One. Disney decides what is offered.

Offer made by Disney – Bank One not responsible for offer fulfillment.

Disney is trying to get more people to get the card by offering this deal. That is how marketing works. Now from a Public Relations standpoint, it's probably not the best idea, but we all mus remember marketing and public relations are two VERY DIFFERENT things.

I have a Disney Visa, I also have an AP and am a Florida Resident. So ummm I guess I am not their current market. ;) No biggie, Disney already has a loyal guest out of me. :p

What exactly is the problem here? Disney and BankOne are offering an incentive to get more people to apply for and use a poorly rewarded credit card. Those of you who already took the bait are not the group that they are trying to reach at this time. When you buy a car, you don't go back to the dealer months later when they sweeten the incentives to promote new sales! If you are unhappy, write a letter and express your displeaure to the offending parties. Use the USPS to send the letters, as email is very easy to delete. If the response from Disney and BankOne is not what you had hoped for, cancel your account and vacation elsewhere. No one is forced to vacation at WDW or to spend hard earned money with BankOne or Disney. Disney markets special deals all over the world to entice visitors from other countries, if you don't get the great deals that these people are offered will you stop going to WDW? The Disney Visa offered special deals to card holders, that was done when $100. Disney Dollars were included in packages booked and paid for with the Disney Visa.
Lesson learned: there will always be a better deal offered somewhere else. Get over it and enjoy life.

Back in Dec they were offering triple points for purchases made at TDS, Disney.com and catalog orders. I dont think there are currently any offers like that but they do have them periodically.

ITA! This is not the first time a company has done targeted marketing. It's not like everyone is automatically entitled to every discount offered by Disney.

:p

I'm a "day 1" card member. Mine just sits in my wallet waiting for a "reason" to use it! I've only used it once, just to get that stupid pin! :p My card of "choice" is my FF miles one. I've been averaging abt 1 FREE airline ticket per year.

Maybe Disney wil come out with a "deal" for us "card wallet sitters"!! I'm sure not going to use this dog of a card till Disney comes out with better rewards!!!:p

That's the boat I'm in, I don't qualify for the card. When I first booked our trip in 2002 I thought I would be able to join DC but they said they were doing away with the program. You're right, they did away with a program for all and replaced it with one that only some can take advantage of.

On a side note, this is our first trip to Disney. Initially we were spending 11 days at WDW and decided to go to Universal due to the great deals they offer through the use of the Fan Club card. We got a great rate for the Royal Pacific Resort and great price on theme park tickets so we shortened our WDW stay. Got the Royal Pacific for half the price of BC.:scratchin

I am confused...It is harder to get the BankONe Disney Visa versus other credit cards????

it must be, i was denied one! BUT qualifed for a huge
amount on a gold amex card.

go figure!

ITA!!!

 So..........If I apply for the card and actually get it, I may not even get the offer for the Silver Dream Maker 7 for 4??? Wow...I hope for everbody's sake they just come out with a general FTP like last year!

A lesson I'VE learned is the squeaky wheel gets oiled. If I just can't be bothered to raise my voice when I feel unhappy with a situation, I've done myself a disservice.

Without appropriate feedback, the company would in no way be able to address my concern's. ESP doesn't work in the business world.

I will keep my Disney Visa, but will put most of my purchases on my miles card. I'm with Kimberlee, maybe the company will do more for the "wallet sitters".

Forgive me if I don't understand, but why would you not take your family to Disney just because the package isn't offered. I don't know how big your family is or your income status, but I don't understand that reasoning. The FTP was offered last year to everyone and DH and I still didn't go, but only because our budget didn't allow it.

Can't you go for less time, purchase hopper passes, instead of UPH passes. Stay at a value resort maybe? Forgive me if I sound insensitive. :( When I make plans to go to Disney, I go no matter what may or may not be available. I suppose that I am blessed that I'm a FL resident and receive some awesome discounts. You know what though, even if I wasn't a resident, I would still plan trips and go no matter what. So long as I don't put my family in financial distress then the trip WILL happen. ::yes::

Hi

Can someone explain to me what is going on with the Disney Visa. I've had a card since the beginning (not overly pleased with how long it takes to build up dollars, but thats another subject).

What is going on?

Is it possible the 7 for 4 will be offered to all, at a later date, after
the respone for the card slows a bit?

Why would anyone apply for the card, for the package, if they can get it without?

Credit card companies make their money from suckers who keep running up their balances, on many different cards. What better way to get people to run up another card, then to offer a $5000 package for $3000, BOOM!! instant balance.

Yes, I have a dv in place of my dc membership, however in the 5 or 6 years in the dc, I only used it for a discount once. I have always took our trips on a code discount, except for our 1st year(learned the hard way)'99, and Easter week '03, when the dc discount was all that was avialable.

Let's hope some codes come out soon.

Some new cardholders received an offer similiar to the Fairytale Package offered last year. Only NEW cardholders and not even all of them.

When Disney discontinued the Disney Club, they began to promote the Disney Visa as an alternative. It does not even come close.

Just another thought for those of you who are complaining about this...I have an AP, which means I don't need a package when I go to WDW. Therefore, I will never use the 6 months interest free when you book a WDW vacation package. Does that mean I should write Bank One and Disney to protest? Should I cancel my credit card? Should I start a thread complaining that I am being treated unfairly by Bank One and Disney?

Disney is KNOWN for its target marketing. This is just another example of it. How many of you complaining here are also shareholders?

This was obvious to me from the start. I signed up with American Express for the White Glove treatment and when they got rid of that I was unhappy. When they got rid of the Disney Vacation Club card that was the last straw. I didnt sign up for their Visa because I am tired of chasing my tail and I didnt think it sounded all that great. If you guys are unhappy say it by canceling the card.::yes::

How would AP holders feel if all of the passholder discounts including the AP rates on resort hotels were discontinued the day after you bought your ticket?

Disney Vacation Club is alive and well.
