FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER...I'm NOT GOING HOME!! UPDATE DEC.30 PG 74

Occasionally the penguins jump over the wall of their enclosure and walk around with the people. Happens pretty often from what I hear at work.

Just chiming in to say that I am following along, and really enjoying hearing all about your adventures!! :cheer2:

Seaworld looks and sounds so fun. I think I may have too faint of a heart for Manta, but I really want to try the other coaster.

Denny and I are going to Williamsburg at the end of August and I am going to upgrade my Busch Gardens ticket to an AP. That way I figure I can get BG Williamsburg, Tampa, Seaworld and hopefully Seaworld SanDiego all in the same year.

Really enjoying hearing about all the fun you are having. Sounds like a blast.

World of Beer. check. Since I am definitely one of your Disney drinking friends. :rotfl:

Sea World was fun the last time I went there. I'm not a coaster fan, hence I did not ride Manta, but I have no problem feeding the rays! :thumbsup2

Free is always a good price for admission!

Okay! Caught back up.
I was out of town and out of touch for a few days, but back up to speed now.

I haven't been on the boards in a while, but I had to come over and read your report! I am fascinated by the College Program and wish I had known about it when I was in college! :goodvibes

Tickets are bought for Villains! You should join the August group on FB because we are planning on a big DISboards meet :) I added your mom so she can add you to the group.

I'm glad you enjoyed SeaWorld. It's been a few years since I've been there. My daughter had a summer job at SeaWorld of Ohio so we went to that one quite often.
The penguins are my favorite. I could spend hours watching them.
Liz

You need to check it out!

If it was warmer I probably would have!

All caught up! What a nightmare about the magic bands, ugh! I read stories like that an am so grateful we never had any major issues.

The pool at the apartment looks lovely and what a fun day at SeaWorld!

It was rough! I have had to deal with a lot of FP issues since I have started working :headache:

Thank you!

Sea World! I have to admit, I haven't been there in forever. Like, since I was four years old. :faint: But penguins are a huge draw for me. I love them.

I'm sure it is a great park! I haven't heard any of the bad rap they get, so that's news to me.

We've got a few World of Beers near us. It's definitely a place for me. :goodvibes

You would enjoy it!

They have gotten a lot of bad press since Blackfish came out exposing how they used to treat the animals in the 80s.

I totally thought of you when I said my DIS drinking buddies :rotfl:

I love Seaworld. :goodvibes

So much fun!

I could totally picture you and Denny there!

Friday May 23

This morning I woke up not excited for the 24 hour party as I had planned but, excited for Traditions. There isn't much I can say about this because it's kept under wraps and locked in the vault ;) and also because I had surprises ruined for me from other people posting about this :upsidedow I can post a picture though

and the piece de resistance!

I got my name tag! I got my name tag :dance3:

Definitely the best feeling in the world! I truly became a part of Walt's legacy and I will do my best to try and make magic throughout my time with the company!

To celebrate my becoming an official CM Kristyn and I headed to Epcot to check out my soon-to-be home and get margaritas!!

We decided to take a bus to the Poly since it was another place Kristyn had never been and I thought it might be quicker than taking a bus. And yes, the bus system with the college program is just as bad as everyone says it is. Although I haven't had a ton of issues yet, I have been late to work once and have to be on a bus about an hour before I actually need to get to work :rotfl2:

But I digress, we were at the Poly and the walls were already up surrounding the waterfall area :sad1: I am definitely going to miss that area!!!

We took the monorail from the Poly to the TTC and along the way a family got on with a little boy and a baby girl. They parents had the little boy sit next to me since there wasn't a ton of room on their side. When the little boy sat down I began asking him about his vacation and he talked away telling me all about the rides and all about Mickey. The parents looked at us in awe and thanked me for getting him to talk about the trip! They told me he never really talks about it so they weren't sure how much he actually enjoyed it :rotfl: I told them it was good practice and explained about the DCP and my position. When it was time for Kristyn and I to get off I wished them a safe drive home and they wished me the best of luck!

We walked in to the park and I was home!

I love being able to see this on my way to work everyday although I am usually distracted by the Fountain of Nations :rotfl:

We got some FPs which we didn't end up using and then went to get some margaritas!

I had a drunken cucumber! We also met up with Trent one of the DCP people from MI and spent time with him drinking margaritas. We then headed to Journey into Imagination and my rides! I love the Finding Nemo ride and Turtle Talk with Crush and it made me that much more excited to begin working!

We didn't spend too much time there because I was beat and wanted to call it an early night. That night when I talked to my parents on the phone I told them I plan on making Disney a career. I honestly do. After having been through Traditions, learning about the company and beginning my journey there I have every intention of staying with this company. My goal has always been to work at a job that touches or changes someone's life. After looking back at all of my trips and the time I have spent at Disney. I know how much a CM can impact the lives of the guests. Every day when I create a little magic for guests or have them smile when I say "Just keep swimming" it makes my heart happy. I feel very fulfilled working here and I know that this is where I am meant to be. It all started this night and the feeling has just continued to grow.

Next up the rest of the weekend! (not a ton of pictures so I thought I would lump them together in an update and I also wanted to say I am only going to post on days I have pictures of so I am not boring you guys with tons of talking!)

I'm so glad you're having a such a fun time being a CM! I bet Traditions is such a special thing to experience :goodvibes

Mmm.. I'll have to try one of those margaritas in September!

Drunk little cucumber, what what!!! :lmao:

That's so awesome that you've decided you want to make Disney a career. Loving the place you work is such an important component in everything, and I feel like there are so many people out there that don't enjoy what they do or where they work. Then it all becomes a paycheck and nothing more. I'm really excited for you.

You will!

I am in love with them now

I completely agree! I just really enjoy everything about Disney and a lot of my coworkers have told me I was born to work here or that I don't seem like I am new to the company :cutie:

Don't hold back posting due to lack of pics!!! I would not be bored at all!!! :yay:

That is so exciting that things "clicked" for you and you know that you want to pursue a career with Disney! :cool1:

You didn't surprise anyone when you said you wanted to stay and have a career there. It is the perfect fit for you :goodvibes

This one made me cry. One of my favorite "poems" is 100 years from now. It basically says it wont matter what kind of house I had, etc. but maybe I will have made the difference in the life of a child. I am so proud that you want to do that,

I am so enjoying reading about your experiences so far! I LOVE the clammobiles!

I so admire your desier to make Disney your career. I got a late start to my WDW visits (I was 31 on my first visit) and wish I could have done the college program! My DS14 is looking forward to the CP program and hopefully later being an imagineer (he wants to be an architect or engineer and build rides!).

Can't wait to hear more!

Name Tag... I swear I just want to somehow work legit for even one hour in the parks JUST so I can have a name tag.

Awww I love that interaction with the little boy on the Monorail. Super sweet.

Drunken cucumber! I sense a Danielle influence...

Caitlin, that is so fantastic that you want to make Disney your career. I've always said that CM's are what make all the difference, so I get excited when hear this. :yay:

All caught up! Congrats on working at Nemo and Turtle Talk. We took the kids through there during our last trip this past April and we had such a great interaction. It honestly was one of my favorite memories. And of course who doesn't love the Nemo Ride?? My 2 year old son was recently diagnosed with Autism and this was one of his FAVORITE rides. So, both attractions hold a very special place in my heart!

Also, thanks so much for sharing the GF info has well. We put my son on a GF diet at the end of 2013 and it has helped him so much, so it's very helpful reading about the different places that have GF items.

Thanks for sharing your journey with all of us! I'm definitely along for the ride! :)
