FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER...I'm NOT GOING HOME!! UPDATE DEC.30 PG 74

I'm DEFINITELY following! I'm also a communications major (though I'm only going into my junior year) and I am highly considering applying for the Disney College Program at some point, so reading your trip report might just push me over the edge! I have a friend who did it and still raves about it to this day, and has made lifelong friends from it.

So, I can't wait to read about your own journey! Sounds like it's going to be a great one! :thumbsup2

(I also love the Frozen reference in your title! Super cute!)

welcome!

You definitely should do it! I am really enjoying my program!

So far so good!

Thank you!

I got chills just reading about the sign welcoming you all to the program! Your apartment looks great.
Yikes, sorry to hear your parents were having magic band issues, but I'm glad it got sorted out and you all were able to have a nice day together!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

It was amazing!

Thank you!

I am so glad the magic was able to come back!

Hope all is going well so far!! Thanks for all the updates in spite of the busyness and change that is happening.

It is!

No problem!

Hmmmmm......two hours in line for Guest Services, but little to no wait for Anna & Elsa. Me thinks Disney has gotten things turned around. For the better? We shall see.......

Linda

It was a bit turned around that morning!

I am SO excited about this TR! I love the college program -- it's so much fun! Have the time of your life! This is going to be so much fun to follow along with everything! I hope you're able to keep us updated, although I know it can get difficult with how the hours are there and just doing loads of fun things! Can't wait to hear more!

Welcome!

I am having a great time!

I am doing my best! Once my schedule switches to later shifts I will be able to update more!

May 20

Today was to be the saddest day of them all. I would be saying goodbye to my parents tonight

This morning we had to wake up early so we could go get the rental car and drop me off for casting. Mom and dad were headed to Sea World so we both were having busy mornings!

It took quite a while to get our car at Alamo because even though we went through the self serve we still had to wait for forever for someone to actually check us out :confused3 We weren't running late though and we ended up getting to Vista Way very early! I was about an hour early for my bus at 10 so while I was waiting people were arriving for the 930 bus. I ended up meeting a nice guy who is also from MI and goes to EMU! It is a small world! Their bus arrived and their coordinator was nice enough to invite me to go on theirs instead of sitting around for another half hour!

Casting is mainly the paperwork part of everything but today I found out where I would be!

and my costume isn't terrible!

I also had my first few days of training figured out as well. Not everyone had this and some of my roommates ended up waiting about a week before they found out where they were! My patience would not have been able to withstand that!

After I was all done at casting I headed back to the apartment to lay around the pool until my housing meeting.

My parents ended up being done with their time at Sea World early (they loved it by the way!) so they offered to pick me and my room roommate up to do our Walmart shopping.

We had to rush through Walmart but I was able to get everything I needed! I definitely recommend buying a pillow there to help save room in your luggage and you will need a comfort foam thing for your mattress and they are $10 there! I stocked up on food to last me most of the way to August so I wouldn't have to worry about trying to bring tons of food back on the bus or anything.

Once our car was filled we hurried to the Commons so I could go to my meeting. Only one of my roommates were there so it was kind of weird that we all had different times. It was basically the safety procedures and household rules so it wasn't too rough to sit through!

When I was finally released I headed back to the apartment to wait for mom and dad to pick up Kristyn (my room roommate) and I for dinner at Captain's Grille.

We once again had the nicest server at Captain's Grille and everything looked amazing!

It was a tough choice for all of us but everything tasted so good!

Once we were done we headed to check out the Epcot area because Kristyn had never been to Disney! She lives in Cali so she had never made it over this way.

When we walked out they were roasting marshmallows on the beach and we had to join!

It was a cute way to top off the night and we took some pictures with the beautiful background!

Unfortunately the time came to take us back to the apartment

I said goodbye to mom

and goodbye to dad

I didn't have much time to stay sad though because 5 of us were heading to Winter Summerland putt putt!

It was such a fun night and I ended up winning with two holes in one!

These are the roommates and starting from my right is Taylor, Leah, Kristyn and Lauren.

We all had a good time and headed back to get some rest. I was headed to Sea World tomorrow!!

The picture of you and your parents on the YC/BC beach is gorgeous. It looks like it was a lovely evening, too. :)

Mini golf with new roommates sounds like a great way to end the day.

The pool at the apartment looks very nice. Do you have time to enjoy it? ;)

Sorry that you had to say goodbye. :sad1: Glad you had an outing to get the sadness off your mind.

I loved seeing the CP/CM brochure with the CM costume/outfits! I love seeing "behind the scenes" stuff. Thank you so much for sharing your adventure with all of us. I think Crush would be a great spot to work since each show will be a little different. Better than Small World music all day! :scared:

OMG this is so exciting to see the official notification.

Ahhhh I knew they'd love SeaWorld. :)

OK, now that should be fun rooming with a Disney World newbee. And it seems you're bonding really well with all your roomies. :thumbsup2

And I'm really looking forward to hearing about your trip to SeaWorld... and MANTA!!!! :cheer2:

Definitely sad having to say good bye to your parents!! It's gonna be weird to not be down there with my Mom when I move lol! Looks like a pretty basic day and lots of meetings, but yay for finding out where you were placed!

The pool looks great! Can't wait to spend some time there  And yay for mini golf!

Not finding out that day would have totally added to my impatience too. :lmao:

The apartment looks really nice. I'm so glad you guys got what you wanted.

Woah, that's an impressive closet!

Awww, I remember when you found out you couldn't go to the 24 hour party. I so wanted to see your Fix It Felix costume.

You're so funny! I just take my TSM totally seriously. I just want to always be better at it than I was before. Not that I have issues or anything. ;) I can't wait to see you again when we come down in November! I'm getting everything for that trip all planned out already.

:sad1::sad1::sad1:

I'm sad already just reading your intro to that post.

Love the update! I totally understand how hard it is to say goodbye. I had to do that with my dad for my 5 CPs

Just finished this and now I am like this
:sad1: and

I was too

It was such a fun time!

It is! Unfortunately not as much time as I would like but I try to get some time in at the pool every week.

Sorry that you had to say goodbye. :sad1: Glad you had an outing to get the sadness off your mind.

I was too! It was just what I needed!

Love the look on the guys face photobombing your pic :lmao:

I never noticed that :rotfl2:

You were right!

Yeah it has been fun and it has its ups and downs but mostly ups!

I will write about it tomorrow!

Yeah I am so glad I found out!

It is such a cute apt and our closet is more than big enough!

I am sure you will see pics of it around MNSSHP time!

You rock at it! I totally understand the competitive side don't worry! Let me know what your plans are as you make them so we can figure out meet ups!

Aw :(

Love the update! I totally understand how hard it is to say goodbye. I had to do that with my dad for my 5 CPs

Thank you!

Wow 5?!

I hate goodbyes of any kind - short ones, long ones, and in-between ones. I sometimes shed a quiet tear or two at goodbyes. ::yes::

The Boardwalk, Beach Club, and Yacht Club area is so pretty. I can so easily jump into the pictures and hear the birds chirping, feel the breeze, see the swaying palm trees, and find myself walking the path to Epcot. :)

The food looked good. :thumbsup2

Glad you got to enjoy Busch Gardens. I have not been there in many years, but I want to take the girls hopefully within the next five years. I really want to take them and show them around St. Pete and Clearwater. I want to show them where I lived and went to church and school. They would think that was neat to see where MeMom was in school or where I picked oranges or played on the beach.

Have a good day!

Love the look on the guys face photobombing your pic :lmao:

Haha, I noticed that as well! Oh photobombing!

Anyway, loved this update! Sounds like a smooth check in and that is SO SMART about getting totally stocked up on food. People who are going down from the CP should save up money to get a few months supply of snacks and quick food like you said, so you're not constantly making the trek to Walmart. With the CP buses, those trips can eat up hours of your time off and with summer here, there's not a lot of time off to be had (and you want to spend it doing fun stuff, like being in the parks or even just sleeping!!). Yay! And also that's awesome you got Turtle Talk. A friend of mine back in the day had that as their role and they really, really enjoyed it! And you get to stay nice and cool in the air conditioning! :)

Glad to hear you seem to be getting along with your suitemates - it would be no fun if you didn't. Here's hoping you have many adventures together, and are willing to share details of the less *ahem* "scandalous" of them with the Disboards! :rotfl2:

Are you going to the Disney Villains event? I'm sooooo excited about it! It sounds so much better than last years disaster.

What Caitlin left out was that we were told we were given 3 "magic" fast passes each good for any attraction. Well after the hassle we weren't feeling the magic so I said to her dad, "Let's see if we can see Anna and Elsa. That would really turn my day around." So we walked up to their FP+ entrance and guess what? They didn't work. After all we'd been through I was about in tears and there just so happened to be a mgr there who took pity on us. He not only let us in but he also gave us coupons for free Coke/water and popcorn. He really brought back the magic for us!

Awwww! That's so special!:goodvibes

I love seeing the pictures of your apartment. It looks very nice. The pool area is amazing. I didn't realize that they had a pool.
So sorry your Mom and Dad had a rough time but their compensation was nice.
Beautiful pictures at the Beach Club! It looks like you have a nice group of roommates.
