FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER...I'm NOT GOING HOME!! UPDATE DEC.30 PG 74

I hate goodbyes of any kind - short ones, long ones, and in-between ones. I sometimes shed a quiet tear or two at goodbyes. ::yes::

The Boardwalk, Beach Club, and Yacht Club area is so pretty. I can so easily jump into the pictures and hear the birds chirping, feel the breeze, see the swaying palm trees, and find myself walking the path to Epcot. :)

The food looked good. :thumbsup2

Glad you got to enjoy Busch Gardens. I have not been there in many years, but I want to take the girls hopefully within the next five years. I really want to take them and show them around St. Pete and Clearwater. I want to show them where I lived and went to church and school. They would think that was neat to see where MeMom was in school or where I picked oranges or played on the beach.

Have a good day!

I do too! They are always sad times and I can't imagine how hard it is to say goodbye to those gorgeous granddaughters of yours

I love the Epcot area! I may be a bit biased but definitely the best park and the best hotels!

That would be very cool! I hope you get to do that!

You too!

Haha, I noticed that as well! Oh photobombing!

Anyway, loved this update! Sounds like a smooth check in and that is SO SMART about getting totally stocked up on food. People who are going down from the CP should save up money to get a few months supply of snacks and quick food like you said, so you're not constantly making the trek to Walmart. With the CP buses, those trips can eat up hours of your time off and with summer here, there's not a lot of time off to be had (and you want to spend it doing fun stuff, like being in the parks or even just sleeping!!). Yay! And also that's awesome you got Turtle Talk. A friend of mine back in the day had that as their role and they really, really enjoyed it! And you get to stay nice and cool in the air conditioning! :)

I never noticed but that is too funny!

Yeah I just figured it would be easier since I don't have a car and can wait until my parents come and they have the rental.

I love my role! Long hours and tons of walking but I love it!

Glad to hear you seem to be getting along with your suitemates - it would be no fun if you didn't. Here's hoping you have many adventures together, and are willing to share details of the less *ahem* "scandalous" of them with the Disboards! :rotfl2:

They are all very easy to get along with!

We haven't had any scandalous adventures :rolleyes1

Are you going to the Disney Villains event? I'm sooooo excited about it! It sounds so much better than last years disaster.

I am!!! I am so excited! My mom will be buying our tickets Monday!

I love seeing the pictures of your apartment. It looks very nice. The pool area is amazing. I didn't realize that they had a pool.
So sorry your Mom and Dad had a rough time but their compensation was nice.
Beautiful pictures at the Beach Club! It looks like you have a nice group of roommates.

It is!

True what's better than meeting a Princess and a Queen?!

Thank you!

I do!

Love seeing all your pictures on Instagram.

Thank you!

Wednesday May 21

I thought today was my Sea World day but according to my cell phone pictures that's the next day :thumbsup2

Today I sat down with some amazing breakfast and wrote a trip report update

I worked out

I laid by the pool

and went to Downtown Disney with Kristyn to walk around a bit and get coffee

and ended up taking hat pics!

I also finished off my bedroom!

It was a relaxing yet busy day and I was glad to hear mom and dad made it back safe and our puppies were doing well! I definitely needed a chill day after our trip!

Must have been very exciting to get the information about you assignment and see your schedule - must have made it seem even more "real"

Thought I must say it seems odd that everyone doesn't find out their assignments at the same time - definitely would be tough to have to wait a week or more to find out while all around you others are getting excited knowing where they will be

Wow, Kristyn had never been to Disney World? I guess I just never thought about someone doing the DCP without even experience what WDW is like ... but at the same time probably something I shouldn't have assumed. That must be even more overwhelming/crazy for her in some ways!

Looks like a nice pool at your apartment complex!

Finally caught up! Love the apartment! Teared up tho when you were saying goodbye to your parents! Thank goodness another trip is right around the corner!

May 22

This morning I had to be up bright and early because I was going to Sea World with my friend Sean! He works at Discovery Cove as a photographer so he could get us in for free  I hadn't been to Sea World in years so between that and the amount of penguins I was planning on seeing I was very excited!!!

We got to Sea World pretty early and it is so nice not having a MB to scan when you get in :rotfl2:

We headed straight for Antarctica because I could not wait to see some penguins! To get in you watch a little computer animated movie about penguins and you can choose to be in a mild pod or a wild one. We went with wild and honestly it wasn't that wild :confused3 You move along with the penguins so you slip and slide through the ice and it's really not that much movement.

After the ride you finally get to see some penguins!!!!!

I was in penguin heaven!!! You are so close to them with only a small wall blocking yourself from them!

It was also feeding time for the penguins when we were there

They are just too cute!

The Adele Dazeem one is very cute :thumbsup2

Sleepy penguin!

When we walked outside they had a giant penguin so I had to get a selfie!!

We walked around a bit and we both were getting hungry so we headed to the Voyager restaurant. I looked up which restaurants were best when it came to gluten free prior to us arriving and this was one of them.

I ended up getting

A very good salad!!! It was delicious!

Once we were full we continued our tour of the park

It's very cool just walking around seeing all of the different sea animals knowing this is what I would be working with once I started at Disney. I know Sea World has had a bad rap lately but with the time I spent there it seemed like a great place and a great park.

I really loved the underwater tunnel with the sharks!

Now I had recently read a TR on Sea World *coughRobcough* and knew I had to see Seymour and Clyde! I heard great things about the mime beforehand and he did not disappoint! He was hilarious! I definitely recommend getting there early!

As for the show it was adorable!!

I love sea lions after this!

I really enjoyed this experience and recommend it to anyone going to Sea World!

We continued to walk around and caught Pets Live! It was an okay show, had tons of different animals in it but not on par with Seymour and Clyde. We eventually locked up our belongings and rode the roller coasters and Manta was awesome!!!!!!! Laying on your stomach for a ride was crazy! This is not for the faint of heart :rotfl:

It got close to closing so we decided to head out of the park and go grab a beer at World of Beer. For any of my drinking DIS friends you have to go here!!! They have an amazing beer list and I found a gluten free porter!!

This is now my favorite beer and I have been back for it since!

Once we were done we stopped by Jimmy John's for some food and called it a day! I had a big day the next day with Traditions!!

It did! I was so excited!

I know it was pretty tough for my friends who didn't find out right away!

I was pretty surprised too! Kristyn is from Cali though so she had been to DL just never WDW which makes sense.

It is!

Finally caught up! Love the apartment! Teared up tho when you were saying goodbye to your parents! Thank goodness another trip is right around the corner!

Yay!

Thank you!

I did too!

I know!

"Goodbye" is probably my least favorite word in the entire English language. That's why I've embraced "kwahirini" which I learned on Kilimanjaro Safari from my trip... it's Swahili for "go well". Much better!

I ADORE your bulletin board!!!! So cute!!!

The Adele Dazeem one is very cute :thumbsup2

*giggle*

When my daughter left for her CP we celebrated with dinner at California grill ( it was also her birthday so it was a special night) after dinner her new roommates picked her up and off she went. We both cried like babies and she said "mom, I don't think I can do this" well fast forward, she extended for a full year and now lives in Atlanta (we live in Phoenix). I wish you as much fun and fulfillment as she experienced and can't wait to read along as your journey unfolds! And PS aren't you lucky to have an inside attractions job!!

Is that really ice/snow for the penguins? We have a penguin house at our nearby zoo, but they don't have ice for them. The Sea World habitat looks nice.

It is really hard to take time out of a WDW trip to go to Sea World. Maybe someday we'll have to check it out. We were last there about 30 years ago and a lot has changed since then. :)

I'm so glad you enjoyed Sea World as much as dad and I did. It is a nice "chill" day compared to the rush of Disney. :)

glad you enjoyed Sea World ... and the price was certainly right!

That salad look really good!

Glad you enjoyed World of Beer - they are opening a location soon near me (in Stamford, CT) and can't wait! Good to know about that Green's gluten free beer. I've tried a few in the past and for the most part they have all been terrible - but I haven't had that one yet

I thought today was my Sea World day but according to my cell phone pictures that's the next day :thumbsup2

Bah... I've been bamboozled, lol

and went to Downtown Disney with Kristyn to walk around a bit and get coffee

Seriously... how cool is it to say that?

OK YAY Seaworld update!! And free admission? Yes please.

Super glad you didn't have to wait too long to see penguins. That ride is really annoying in that regard.

OMG YES!!!! You got there early for the Mine!!!!! Seriously, hysterical, right? And yes, the show itself is good too.

I do enjoy Pets Ahoy, but I also do find it such an odd choice for a show... at SEAworld.

MANTA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need say no more. Ok one more... MANTAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:

Seaworld is so nice - glad you enjoyed your visit! I can't believe the Clyde and Seymour show is still going. I've been to Seaworld 3 times but the last time was in 2000 and I remember how much we all loved that show.
What is the Manta? I'm assuming some sort of coaster?
How cool that Sean works in Discovery Cove. What does he do?
Gluten Free Beer!!! Happy for you!!!!!:thumbsup2

SeaWorld looks like fun. I have never been!

!
I was pretty surprised too! Kristyn is from Cali though so she had been to DL just never WDW which makes sense.

Just wanted to chime in and say that before I did my CP I had never been to Disney (land or World) just the store! :rotfl2: So not too unusual.

That is a good saying!

Thank you!

We were supposed to go to Cali Grill but my housing meeting was too late in the day and there were no other times available

I am having a lot of fun and really enjoying Orlando!

I am really not inside that often :lmao: We still have strollers, greeters and fastpass that are outside and usually I am stuck at one of them.

Yes! It's very cold in the exhibit! All of the workers have on winter coats.

I know! We have never had the time to but it's one of the perks of living here :thumbsup2

I'm so glad you enjoyed Sea World as much as dad and I did. It is a nice "chill" day compared to the rush of Disney. :)

I agree! It's not as packed and there isn't really a rush to get to anything.

glad you enjoyed Sea World ... and the price was certainly right!

I agree!

It was a good salad!

You will love it! I have had a lot of different gluten free beers but this one is by far my favorite!

Bah... I've been bamboozled, lol

Perks of knowing someone who works there!

It was a bit of a wait but nothing terrible.

He was hilarious! I laughed a ton!

I agree!

Such a great ride!

It was so much fun!

It's a roller coaster that lays you on your stomach and makes you feel like a manta ray.

He is a photographer in the dolphin pool.

Thank you!

SeaWorld looks like fun. I have never been!

!

Just wanted to chime in and say that before I did my CP I had never been to Disney (land or World) just the store! :rotfl2: So not too unusual.

You need to go!

I am glad you liked the store that much to want to work there :thumbsup2

I'm glad you enjoyed SeaWorld. It's been a few years since I've been there. My daughter had a summer job at SeaWorld of Ohio so we went to that one quite often.
The penguins are my favorite. I could spend hours watching them.
Liz

All caught up! What a nightmare about the magic bands, ugh! I read stories like that an am so grateful we never had any major issues.

The pool at the apartment looks lovely and what a fun day at SeaWorld!

Sea World! I have to admit, I haven't been there in forever. Like, since I was four years old. :faint: But penguins are a huge draw for me. I love them.

I'm sure it is a great park! I haven't heard any of the bad rap they get, so that's news to me.

We've got a few World of Beers near us. It's definitely a place for me. :goodvibes
