Hi,

I'm a non DVC member, would like to find out more details regarding to reservation wanted from a DVC member. What else should I pay besides the points itself.

Let's say I need 200 points for a reservation. Each point cost $10. So, the total would be $2K. Is there other misc. fees besides?

This would be the total cost for the room....no additional tax or fees.

if you want to pay with credit card by paypal, the DVC owner may pass any paypal charges along to the renter.

but generally, the per-point cost is all - no fees.

Your rental agreement is between you and the member that you are renting from. We really have no business guessing what your arrangement will be.

They may decide to charge $15 a point and not $10 a point. It's all up to the member.

Also remember that points are good for lodging ONLY. You will NOT receive park tickets or any dining plan whatsoever.

If you choose to have the dining plan, you can have the member add it to your reservation, and you'll pay for it at check in.

If you choose to have park tickets, you'll have to purchase them at the gate.

as said, the price per point covers the room only (no additional taxes or fees, unless imposed by the person you are renting from, and agreed to by both of you). an example is when one renter i had wanted to use an escrow service. since they wanted it, they paid for the service.
however, a DVC reservation is different from a regular room rental thru CRO ~ main differences are that there is no full, daily mousekeeping included (which many DVCers prefer), and the cancellation policies are different (varies upon what you agree to with person you rent from). note that daily mousekeeping is available at an additional charge (paid at/to front desk). another notable difference (for us, at least:)) is that there is no "additional adult" fee with DVC.
it is important to note that the person you rent from holds control of the ressie. giving a substantial amount of money to a total stranger can be unnerving; prepare yourself and thoroughly read thru the sticky on the R/T board.

the DDP is optional, and if desired, paid for at check-in. passes are your responsibility.
DME is included (the person you are renting from can set it up), along with regular resort guest benefits (free parking at parks, EMHs).
