Food Network's "Chopped All-stars"!

I really hope Lisa goes home. Didn't like her on Next Food Network Star and don't like her now......She missed what....3 items from the basket of 4-5????

I know. I could understand if she missed one giving her a chance, but 3????

I love the cooking contest shows!!! It's my guilty pleasure. (that and the Bachelor, lol!)

Not that I like Lisa, but if she had all her ingredients on the plate, I'm sure she would have gone to the final. I don't particularly like her though. And really, where DID they get the "fan favorites" from? I think Brad would have been the only one, although Michael kindof grew on me last night.

I'm also looking forward to watching Geoffrey Zakarian cook. I've seen other specials with some of the other judges cooking .... and he's supposed to be really, really good.

I love this show! But I was shaking my head when I saw the competition last night. Reallly??? This is the fan fave load from NFNS?? Snooze.

'Fan Favorite' may have been those who were available! :lmao: I did like Michael that season & Brad was a big favorite, but almost everyone hated Debbie. I didn't watch the season with Lisa.

I kind of got bored with Chopped and took it off my DVR recording list...
Grrr, off to find repeat episodes! I do want to watch the All Star episodes!

They may be basing that on the 'Fan Favorite' vote they have every season. Though that doesn't explain why Debbie "well, I'm Korean" Lee is considered an 'All Star' :rotfl:

Nope - not based on the vote. In Lisa's season, Kelsey was the Fan Fave. (I looked it up to see who beat her - Aaron won and Adam was also in the finals. She didn't have a chance.)

I was disappointed in the episode, though - I wanted to see the real Food Network Stars compete, not the also-rans.

Should be interesting to see how Michael stacks up against the winner of next week's competition (at least I hope it's next week) - Robert Irvine, Anne Burrell, Duff Goldberg and Claire Robinson. It is likely that, as my DH said, "He's going to get his clocks cleaned!"

Snyky, I didn't realize Lisa was in it, too. She was one who pretty much turned me off from day one, so she and Debbie may have been approached because they had something to prove and felt they were 'robbed.'

Michael appeals to me, but he probably will crack when faced with some of the big names. However, I think he'll make it through the appetizer round before collapsing. When we watched, my DH and I were sure that Brad was the one going on based on the comments in each round and the end judging.

I'm still scratching my head that Alex Guarnaschelli was willing to keep Lisa, even after skipping 3 of the four ingredients!

Did anyone else notice any really filthy fingernails in last night's episode? :crazy2: It pretty much ruined the show for me. (I'm more of a Top Chef fan anyway, but still.)

I really thought Brad was going to win too. I think they both did a good job, but I thought his dishes were more creative.

The dirty nails were gross. Although I am not a top chef fan.

I didn't notice the fingernails, but what I always find really gross is when sweat is just dripping off them. You can't tell me that it doesn't drip down into the food.

That is how it gets seasoned :rotfl2: just kidding. it is pretty gross as well.

:lmao: I told my DH at the end of the show "really? Dirty fingernails, dripping sweat & the judges concern is that the arugula doesn't taste good with the chiplote dressing :confused3"

Oh, & what about Chef Michael saying he wanted " to win so bad he would kill a litter of puppies" :scared1:

I loved Chopped and I was really looking forward to this show. I have to say, I was disappointed last night when the "All-Stars" were contestants from the NFNS. There's plenty of true All-Star cooks that I would have rather seen compete.

I am really looking forward to next week's line-up though! Go Anne!
