Food Network's "Chopped All-stars"!

I loved last night's episode of "Chopped". It was great to see the judges on the other side of the competition. I am a fan of Amanda Freitag, but I wasn't surprised that she didn't make it to the final round.

I think either Aaron or Anne will take the title. I will be rooting for Aaron.

You know what really bothers me about Anne? Well, there's more than one thing but I wish the words "i'm going to go ahead" would be cut out of her vocabulary!! Those words are just soooooooo overused on her show.

Also, I got annoyed when I saw her do the same thing she busted one of the worst cooks for doing--tasting from a spoon then putting same spoon back in the dish. Ewwwwwwwwwwww!

The tasting from the same spoon is a no-no when you're cooking for others. When you're cooking for yourself, what's the difference? And honestly, when I'm cooking for me & my dad, I don't use a different spoon every time.

True; when cooking for our families, I guess that would be OK. I do believe, though, on her show she shouldn't do the tasting thing with the same spoon she puts in the dish.

Just curious as to what people think about finger licking? I've seen many of them stick their finger in, lick it. stick it in again. Is that the same as lickign a spoon and putting that back in? I think it's gross...I don't know where that hand was, if they scratched their head, etc. I'd rather see a spoon used more than once.

Drat. I was pulling for Amanda over Aaron. But----I'll go with Aaron over Anne any time!

I'm a health inspector and I see chefs dip their fingers or reuse a spoon more often than expected. They are an arrogant bunch - I get to correct them!

Finale tonight! I'm betting final 2 will be Aarón and Anne. Rooting for Aarón!

Wow, a couple of totally unexpected things happened tonight...and was it just me that had a few tears at the end? Congratulations to Nate.

No, I teared up at the end too.

I was glad that he won, but I really thought that Aaron was going to win.

I thought Aaron was going to win, but I'm glad Nate won. I'm sure it was very hard to decide. It was a great few weeks!

I was very happy for Nate. I, too, thought Aaron was going to win. I was surprised that Anne didn't make it to the final round, but her entree just didn't measure up to the other two. I thought for sure it would come down to Aaron and Anne, but that's what makes it fun to watch!

I was surprised too, that it didn't come down to Anne and Aron. I think Nate ultimately won because he did things - combinations, methods - unfamiliar to him. He went out on a limb over and over, something his competitors rarely risked.
