I am a food network junkie, I was wondering who's everyone's favorites. Who recipes have you actual tried? Which show do you just enjoy watching? Who do not watch or care for and why?

My Fav's in no particular order;

Ree Drummond - Pioneer Women, I have tried lots of her recipes and had great success, and overall my family likes them, I also enjoy seeing the ranch, her family and her dogs, they are so cute.

Ina Garten, Barefoot Contessa, I have made a lot of her recipes, and tips when entertaining, and will continue to use them, Her recipe for shrimp scampi is amazing. I crack up when she says " Use Good Vanilla or whatever"

Guy Fieri, Diners, Drive in and Dives & Guys Grocery Games - DH and I love his shows, and have eaten at several spots from Triple D..

Robert Irvine - We meet him at Food and Wine, he is just like what you see on the show, super nice, and very British. We love him, all of his shows.

Giada de Laurentiis - Everyday Italian - Love her show and recipes, are very good, and have been added in my cook book, her appetizer are easy and really good.

Bobby Flay - All of his show, my DH has grilled many things using his methods from watching his shows.

Also as host / shows - Alton Brown, Tyler Florence, Rachel Ray, Sandra Lee, Trisha Yearwood.

In the NO column;

Anne Burrell - I can not stand to watch her, I have tried to give her a chance, but I always think she is talking down to the audience.

Melissa D'Arabian - she is so boring, and nothing she cooks looks good. She is on Guys Grocery Games as a judge and she is so snotty and mean to the contestants..

Damaris Phillips - Southern at Heart - It so plain to see they tried to replace Paula Deen with her, and its not working. They need to let her do a more hip show, with cocktails and trendy eats. Instead of trying to fit her in a mold. I would give her another try then.

Chefs I wish would return, Emeril and Paula.. Loved both and miss them.

My favorite is Ina Garten, The Barefoot Contessa. I love to watch her cook. I think she is a great teacher and watching her has a calming affect on me. :)

I share your list of least favorites and I, too, miss Paula and Emeril.

I like watching Ree Drummond, Trisha Yearwood, Ina Garten and Rachael Ray. I would never cook anything RR does, but I like to watch for different techniques she uses.

I can't stand Giada and her low cut shirts, Anne Burrell (her shouting makes me want to throw something at the TV), Melissa D'Arabian (boring! :crazy2:) Bobby Flay or any of the food reality shows.

Favorite show: The Kitchen

Least Favorite: It's a toss up between The Pioneer Woman or Giada.

I loooooooooooooove those low cut shirts! Couldn't tell you a thing she's cooked though. :rolleyes1

Love Diners Drive-Inns & Dives. Just "meh" on Guy's other shows.

DW likes Pioneer Woman, Barefoot Contessa, Trisha Yearwod, and The Kitchen.

LOVE:
I LOVE Chopped!!! Its my fave show. My DS and I watch it together all the time.
I also like Diners/Drive ins/Dives with Guy Fieri. Love it. (I also love the canadian equivalent called "you gotta eat here")
Beat Bobby Flay and Eat St are both pretty good too!

HATE:
I HATE...absolutely HATE....the stupid show Carnival Eats. Hate it. Most of all, I cant stand the show donut wars or whatever its called. So stupid. How interesting can a show about donuts really be?!?! Theyre donuts!!!!!

I also dont like the pioneer woman and barefoot contessa.

I use the word "mesmerizing" to describe Ina's affect on me. Love, love, LOVE the phrase "and a teaspoon of good vanilla."

Giada wears low-cut shirts? Hmm, her teeth usually distract me from noticing.

Anne Burrell is good sometimes. Great hair.

Use to love Rachael Ray, but grew tired of her. I met her about 8 years ago at a book signing. She autographed one of her cookbooks. "Jim....Love you....Rachael.":lovestruc

Don't like Guy Fieri. I feel like sticking red hot pokers into his eyeballs.

That Semi-Homemade B used to annoy me too.

I love Pioneer Woman and watch her all the time.

Does anyone know if the cowboy who won the Network star show last year has his show yet? What's it called?

Ree Drummond
Alton Brown/Cuttthroat kitchen
Giada
Chopped
Worst Chefs
And that Holiday Baking Championship that is on Sunday nights

I do like Ann Burrell but she used wayyyyy too much salt.
Clearly I like the competition shows.

Don't like Ina at all. She seems far too snooty.

Almost forgot, we love the Great Food Truck Race!!!

I love "You Gotta Eat Here"!! Also Diners/Drive Ins/Dives and used to like Lynne Crawford's show Pitchin' In.

I like Guy's Grocery Games and Food Truck Face Off. DD LOVES the doughnut one - I don't like it, though and can't stand the host.

Saw Carnival Eats once - also couldn't stand the host.

Anyone but Giada. She's very annoying. I did find her attitude somewhat amusing when she was on Iron Chef in the Tag Team match. She wasn't too happy to lose to Rachel Ray and team. ;)

I love Ina Garten and Nigella Lawson, even though she's not really on there anymore. Nigella is absolutely gorgeous and I could listen to her talk about food all day.

Giada used to be okay but she is completely unbearable now. On last year's Thanksgiving special the ONLY time she shut up was when she cut herself! And it's not nice to hope people cut themselves, so...:rotfl:

And the opposite is happening with Bobby Flay. He used to be so horribly obnoxious and I couldn't stand him, but he's mellowed out significantly over the years and I can tolerate him now. I don't want to say I like him yet.

I like almost all of the Chopped judges. They usually give constructive criticism and seem like a fun bunch.

FAVORITE:

Guy Fieri - Although he's losing his appeal to me. His cadence on DDD is starting to grate on my nerves. Like GGG though.

LEAST FAVORITE:

Jeff Mauro - I'm trying to figure out why I don't like him. I don't think he's sincere.

Lenny the Cowboy -- Really Food Network???????

Don't like Ina at all. She seems far too snooty.

Yeah, I don't doubt she can be snooty in real life, but on the show I prefer to see her as pseudo-snooty. Plus, some of her Haughty Hamptons Hoedown recipes seem very interesting. After all, who DOESN'T serve duck and $50 lb. cheese at a beach picnic? With tablecloth and fine china yet?

And under which rock did she find some of her oddball friends?

I love Tyler Florence, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, Guy's Grocery Games(I hate Guy's cooking show though)anything with Alton, Ree, Trish Yearwood, Chopped.

I cannot stand the Semi Homemade lady, Rachael Ray, Paula Deen, Mellissa D'Arabian, Giada and Bobby Flay.

Doesn't she live in the Hamptons??
I'm pretty sure that's where George kept Snoopy and Prickly Pete......:rotfl:

More seriously, I figure her buddies are often the folks who make good money organizing and planning the lives of the rich and famous (or not so famous) that hang out there.

Food Network is one of the few that I don't worry about my kids watching and repeating what was said :lmao: They are the ones who got me started watching and would play "cooking show" when they were younger.

Kids love the Challenge shows, but especially Cake Challenge, along with Chopped, Barefoot Contessa,Pioneer Woman, loved Paula when she was on, Rachel and Giada. Anything having to do with baking and sweets, too.

I like Chopped and Barefoot Contessa. Every one of her recipes have been a winner for me, so far. I had the snooty impression at first, but as you watch her you realize that she is just not super effusive on camera, like Rachel or Giada are. You see a little goofiness when she's with friends or her husband. People who have met her say that she's lovely in person. I really look forward to watching!

D,D, &D is fun but Guy can be over the top. I love the premise and the places they go.

I've gotten more into the science behind successful cooking, so have watched some Alton shows recently. I'm pretty new to the "I like to cook" club after viewing it as a chore for 20 yrs.

The recipes I've tried of Giada's have been disappointments. The few of Rachel's I've tried have been tasty, but I chose simple ones. Emiril's and Paula's have been good, too.

DH can't stand Giada or Ree. Ree's voice is NOT soothing like Ina's or Nigella's and I avoid watching her show. I'd rather get recipes from her blog.
