Food, friendship, flowers and a touch of the Force. A May '13 TR; Updated 02/6

ITA!!!

You gals look adorable in your Minnie ears and ribbons! Love all the meet & greet pictures at the Character Stop and later in Mexico.

Gorgeous pictures from the monorail. I love that loop!

Margaritas chips and guac look super yummy!

Spoiler alert- I STILL haven't made it to Beaches & Cream yet and heresy: we sadly didn't end our Sci-Fi meal with a sundae. We were seriously sundae-deprived on our trip!

And I thought we'd made progress because you FINALLY saw Wishes on this trip. Now I know you just cut out all the ice cream in the World to do it! :rotfl: :lmao:

What a gorgeous day! Love the blue sky pics. Glad to see the Dole Whip over at EPCOT even if it's for a limited time!:thumbsup2

I love your ears! Hayley has the instructions for modifying ears on her site, so I just have to pick up a pair so I can do it myself and make some bows. (I'm crafty and have to be frugal, so I appreciate that she's so willing to openly share the how-to!) I'm thinking I want to modify a pair for my mom too - my parents will be in WDW the same week my DBF & I are, and she'd get such a kick out of ears with interchangeable bows (we both love things like Pandora/Trollbeads and Kameleon jewelry where you can change things up all the time!)

and as always, love, love, love Franklin's pictures. You feel like you could just step right into the picture!

So-how is the Guacamole there?

I can't believe he skipped the Rum-Dole Whip- I would have gotten them every day!:cool1:

Glad everything worked out with Franklin's KTTW card. I live in fear of losing that.

That Beaches and Cream burger looked delish! You were able to get in with no ressie?

She seems to be (finally) catching up with the orders, did you put a "need-by" date on your order? I placed my custom bridal order this week and she thought I'd have it in time for the wedding, so you order order should come in time!

I did, so I'm hopeful. I was worried because it took so long for her to process my order and send the invoice, but I just got it & paid a couple of days ago. So hopefully they will make it in time! I already have plans for which shirts to wear with which bows. :goodvibes

Great update! I have been wanting to try B&C forever, and it just never works out. But we are thinking that with both sets of grandparents coming with us and the parks closing early both nights they would be available to babysit, the call of those B&C sundaes just might be too hard to ignore any longer!

Thank goodness you were able to get everything straightened out with Franklin's KTTW without any fraudulent charges. :thumbsup2

And caught up here as well. I guess I really should be loading my own photos instead of sitting here catching up on everyones' reports. :lmao: Ah well.
We had a few days stay at BC this trip. The first stay there was in 2008 and we'd had such a phenomenal stay. I was a little disappointed this time. Our view was woods (and trees were all we saw) and a few CMs we encountered there were less than friendly. Just burst my bubble as I was so excited to be staying there again. Still loved the location and the smell of the lobby!

Mmm the guacamole and chips look yummy!
I've never yet been to Beaches and Cream, I keep meaning to and never get a chance. Maybe this will be the year for it! It looks delish!
Glad Franklin got his KttW card figured out and that no one had charged on it!

Ok, I'm (only slightly) embarrassed to say that last update had me DROOLING. Ritas + chips & guac + Beaches & Cream = Disney food coma for me!! Sadly it'll take some real convincing to get DBF to try La Cava, as he's a "plain eater"/hard liquor avoid-er (or as I like to say, a party pooper! :lmao:)

Can't wait for more!!

It was such a lovely day. Blue skies, not too hot and even a nice breeze every now and then! The Dole Whip is making a return appearance at Epcot for Food and Wine, but it will be Orange flavored instead of pineapple, that detail made for a sad Franklin. :sad1:

Gorgeous day and gorgeous pics.

Thank you!

I looooove my modified ears. You would not believe the number of times I get stopped by someone who wants to know where I got them. I'm getting ears and a custom bow made for all my bridesmaids so we can take a group photo before the wedding!

The guacamole was a huge hit with our group, definitely worth trying! I couldn't believe he skipped the Rum Dole Whip either, but between the Cinco de Mayo treats and us heading for lunch, I think he knew how full he was already going to be. ;)

Oh my gosh that brownie sundae at Beaches and Cream looks so good!

It was so good! One of my favorite desserts on property.

Glad everything worked out with Franklin's KTTW card. I live in fear of losing that.

I was terrified that someone was going to charge up a storm using his card, but we really lucked out that no one did.

Beaches and Cream doesn't take ADRs! Anytime you go, be prepared to wait. Though none of our waits there have ever been as long as they estimate.

I hope you get to try B&C, but it sounds like you have bigger dessert plans in mind now, huh?

Isn't amazing how a few CMs can make or break a trip? We really liked our (short) stay at BCV last October. And we're staying at Yacht Club for our Disneymoon in a couple of months. I hope it all goes smoothly!

We have gotten much better at venturing out of the parks to eat. It makes for a nice break from the hustle and bustle.

Just and FYI, you can order any of the drinks from La Cava to go (in case your DBF doesn't want to hang around the bar)! It was an odd mix of Disney foods, but it made for one tasty afternoon! :thumbsup2

Welcome back! We last left off with Franklin, Meghan and Laura returning to our BLT villa from Epcot, only to find me passed out on the couch. After a little hang-out time in the villa,

it was time to head out for dinner. Our original plans for the evening called for us to eat at Tokyo Dining and then enjoy Illuminations. Since checking into that gorgeous villa with that incredible castle view, I’d wanted to add another activity to the evening’s plans: Wishes from our balcony! Yes friends, we were going to attempt a Disney milestone: Illuminations and Wishes in one night! So exciting, right?

We’d need the right fuel for an adventure such as this, so we headed out for dinner. Knowing we wanted to make a quick getaway after Illuminations, we decided to valet the car at Boardwalk for dinner (which also gave us a chance to show Meghan and Laura around our other Disney home).

I was really excited to take a peek inside the new and improved (and recently reopened) Boardwalk Bakery.

The new bakery was gorgeous! And the space flows so much, better (which is especially welcome in the mornings when that place is jammed!). We took the leisurely stroll over to Epcot as the sun was setting.

We made it through France in as timely a manner as possible.

DSC_2558-L.jpg

And arrived at our Far-East destination.

DSC_2559-L.jpg

Franklin started with a beer and some edamame.

I like my Japanese food cooked, so I had the chicken teriyaki.

DSC_2567-L.jpg

The rest of the table got sushi, lots of it. I even tried some (and didn’t hate it!). On the table was a spicy philly roll, a volcano roll, a spicy crunchy roll, a dynamite roll and a tempura roll.

They brought Laura out a slice of birthday ginger chocolate cake.

The plate also had an adorable origami ring!

It was getting close to Illuminations time, so we skidaddled out of the restaurant and grabbed a viewing spot down by the lake. Gotta love low-crowd times!

As soon as the show was over, Franklin dismantled his tripod quicker than I’d ever seen him before. And we set off to pick up the car from Boardwalk. We got to Boardwalk’s front entrance by 9:28 and were in our car at 9:39. I thought we were sunk, but we made it back to BLT with five minutes to spare! We fired up the music on the TV and settled into the balcony. Let the second show of the night commence!

And with that finale, we completed our super-duper Disney adventure. Two fireworks shows in the course of a little more than an hour. To celebrate our accomplishment, I celebrated in a truly Disney way. With a princess cupcake I’d bought upon my return to CR that afternoon.

And with that blissful bit of sugar, it was time to bid goodnight to an excellent Disney day. We needed sleep because we’d be up bright and early for a different-sort of magical day.

Hey Missy!! I just wanted to let you know that I'm still reading along with your TRs (all three!) and loving Franklin's photos as usual! :)

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

What an awesome and different view of Wishes!
Beautiful photos as always!! Tell Franklin Disney really needs to hire him as their promo guy!!

Wow, quite a feat getting to see two fireworks shows in one night (Not to mention dinner)! I love the view from the balcony.

All these fireworks pictures... :faint: :worship: Reading fireworks updates on not one but TWO of your TR's today has made me swoon!

I have that same Ariel shirt! Love it!
