Food, friendship, flowers and a touch of the Force. A May '13 TR; Updated 02/6

Ahhh beautiful fireworks pictures!! Looking at your trip report makes me depressed about my own photo taking abilities! LOL!

Just kidding- but it is something for me to strive for!!

That is great you got to see both shows. Loved the pics.

Just and FYI, you can order any of the drinks from La Cava to go (in case your DBF doesn't want to hang around the bar)! It was an odd mix of Disney foods, but it made for one tasty afternoon! :thumbsup2

Now THAT is something I've got to try! Perhaps next trip.... :scratchin

Your meal at Tokyo Dining actually looks really good! DBF and I loved Teppan Edo last time we were there, and I've always been tempted by sushi but I'm too nervous to order it - I don't really know what I'd like or wouldn't like and don't want to spend money on something that's going to waste!

FANTASTIC fireworks pictures! Congrats on making both shows!

Can't wait for your next update!

Just when you thought Franklin's firework photos couldn't get any better the Wishes from the balcony are pretty freakin' sweet! I love that you get fireworks, the castle and space mountain all in one view. AWESOME!!!

Somehow I had fallen behind on this TR but enjoyed catching up this morning. The Star Wars party on the 4th looked really fun. I loved the different fireworks perspective with the big hat instead of the castle or Spaceship Earth!

Then "Mexico" on Cinco de Mayo?? Super cool! I'd have to agree. Think that woman in line is living my dream too. Really wish I had known about and done the College Program! I probably would have never left!!

Thanks for the Beach Club pictures. Home sweet home. And oh how yummy Beaches 'n Cream is.

How awesome to see both Illuminations and Wishes in the same night! Fireworks from the balcony is hard to beat. Beautiful pictures, once again!!

Hey Missy!! I just wanted to let you know that I'm still reading along with your TRs (all three!) and loving Franklin's photos as usual! :)

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

Thanks Marissa! I'm still following along on yours too! :goodvibes

What an awesome and different view of Wishes!
Beautiful photos as always!! Tell Franklin Disney really needs to hire him as their promo guy!!

I'd totally be down to move to Florida if Disney snatched Franklin up as their photographer!

Wow, quite a feat getting to see two fireworks shows in one night (Not to mention dinner)! I love the view from the balcony.

It was a new Disney accomplishment for us! That view from the balcony is something I daydream about these days.

All these fireworks pictures... :faint: :worship: Reading fireworks updates on not one but TWO of your TR's today has made me swoon!

I have that same Ariel shirt! Love it!

Lots of fireworks chapters from us recently! I love that Ariel shirt. I bought a new Ariel shirt and necklace for the Disneymoon! I'll have to take a pic and post it.

Congratulations on getting to see both shows! Wonderful photos too :)

Thanks!

Trust me, I can't take a good photo. I feel bad for the readers when the first half of our May 2014 TR will be from the solo part of my trip. Just me to take those pictures. :crazy2:

Hope you get to try that 'rita at La Cava. So good! I keep toying with making an ADR at Teppen Edo. But the thing that bugs me is the lack of fried rice. How do you have a hibachi pace without fried rice??!?! It's, like, the best part!

:goodvibes Wonderful pics!!

Thank you! :goodvibes

It's quite the view. It's so cool, you can hear the music from the park for MSEP and Wishes. And in the morning, it's so quiet and peaceful (with the exception of the MK railroad whistle, that thing is loud!)

Glad you could catch up! May the Fourth and Cinco de Mayo were both really fun days to spend in the parks!

Beaches and Cream is always worth a visit!

Welcome back! We last left off with us completing the Wishes/Illuminations combo in a single evening. It was a beautiful morning, not a cloud in the sky!

We were headed to the “dark side” on this fine morning. So after a quick breakfast, we hit the road. Our whole group of friends is pretty Harry Potter obsessed, so Meghan and Laura were pretty geeked out to finally get to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

DSC_2681-L.jpg

We made a beeline straight to Forbidden Journey, it was amazing -- as usual. Meghan was a little queasy after the first ride, so she sat the next one out. And for the record, I warned Laura that the second ride would probably make all of us pretty queasy. But that was a risk we were all willing to take. How did it turn out? Well, let’s just say Laura and I needed a minute after coming off the ride.

Franklin took this minbreak to give Hogwarts and Hogsmeade the proper photo shoot they deserved.

We caught up with Franklin to do a little shopping before getting on anything else that moved.

With our tummies settled, Laura, Franklin and I wanted to take a spin on the Hippogriff.

The girls wanted to explore the castle some more, so we headed for the castle tour next.

We got out and the crowds had multiplied exponentially. Where did all these people come from?

DSC_2798-L.jpg

And since Butterbeer is the breakfast of champions, all the carts had massive lines. So we headed to The Hog’s Head where we could buy and sip our Butterbeer in quiet and air conditioning.

DSC_2800-L.jpg

We grabbed a seat to enjoy our heavenly beverages.

DSC_2806-L.jpg

And we plotted where we wanted to go next.

DSC_2812-L.jpg

Franklin and Laura really wanted to ride The Hulk next, so Meghan and I grabbed a seat at Cinnabon near the front of the park to wait for them. It was pretty warm by the time they came off the ride and it had been hours since our 7 a.m. breakfast, so we decided lunch and a little pool time were in order. So we headed toward the exit, stopping first to do some shopping.

DSC_2817-L.jpg

We didn’t have very fancy lunch plans, but man, did those wings hit the spot!

DSC_2818-L.jpg

We changed into our swimsuits as soon as we got back and headed for the BLT pool!

And that’s where we stayed for a good chunk of the afternoon! We weren’t rushing anywhere that evening, we had plans to wander around Downtown Disney.

Yay! I spy a Bumblebee pillow! Just finished up my report on the day I got to take my picture with him!:woohoo:

Hmm, I was going to ride HP in December but I keep reading of people feeling not so great afterwards. I might need to rethink this.
Looked like a good day.

Yessss I love Harry Potter and especially love the Wizarding World! HP&tFJ is the best ride in the entire world I'm quite sure! And what an amazing job they did on the castle. :thumbsup2

I love reading along! You're such a detailed writer & Franklin is an amazing photographer!:thumbsup2

This my year for Disney, I had my May trip with my 60 yr old aunt for her 1st trip ever to FL & Disney, I have my BC Oct/Nov trip with DH for our 1st's with F&W & MNSSHP, and just book WL for Dec w/ my sister & nephews 1st trip- he will be 4 at the time. It sounds funny to say, but this will be my 1st time going to Disney with a child, lol :rotfl2:.

I'm already thinking about next year! Do you have any trip already planned for next year? If so where & when are you going?

My absolute apologies in getting the wedding photos up. My life has been a swirl of thank-you notes, gift unwrapping and organizing of our house since returning from our honeymoon. These are just a handful of preview photos from the wedding photographers, but I hope you think they were worth the wait!

Let’s start at the beginning… of the wedding day, of course! I had all my girls gather in my suite for a fun day of champagne, yummy treats and beautification! I made each one a hoodie with a customized Minnie head on the back.

Franklin and his groomsmen. They totally thought they were the Rat Pack in their tuxes, it was adorable.

On our way to taking pictures at the Lincoln Memorial

missyfranklin_preview13-L.jpg

And since the girls were in charge of holding my dress up as we walked, the boys were in charge of the bouquets.

missyfranklin_preview12-L.jpg

The extra face was a cut-out of our friend Brian who was supposed to be a groomsman, but had a mandatory event for work that weekend and couldn’t leave Houston. So his lovely wife bought the cutouts so he could still be a part of everything!

missyfranklin_preview14-L.jpg

I had custom Minnie ears made for all of us. I had a bridal bow with a veil and my girls all had bows that matched their bridesmaids dresses.

The ceremony took place on the terrace of the Newseum, overlooking the Capitol.

We have the greatest friends! You might remember a few from previous TRs. Kristin and Dan went with us in October 2010; Kelley, Mike and their twins in Oct. 2011; and Meghan and Laura in May 2013.

missyfranklin_preview24-L.jpg

Toward the end of the night, Franklin and I snuck away with the photographers to take some night time photos. Here we are in the elevator.

And just outside the museum.

And out on Pennsylvania Avenue.

That’s it for the photos we have now. Like I said, there are lots of Disney details from the wedding that I am dying to share with you, but I want to wait until I have photos to show you. So you’ll just have to stay tuned! Until then, on with the Disneymoon TR!

Congratulations to you both! You are both so stinkin cute and you looked amazing Missy! Love the pics :thumbsup2

First off, congrats on the wedding!

Of course you made customized hoodies. So cute.

You look amazing and your dress is gorgeous!

The groomsman cutout is so awesome. A great way to have him there when he couldn't be.

Yay!!!! So glad to see you back. Your photos are gorgeous and you looked beautiful. Franklin looked quite dashing as well. Can't wait to hear (and see) all about it!
