Flight change with Delta/Orbitz

Maybe somebody here can help me out. I booked a flight last week on Orbitz with Delta. Well now my boyfriend has just found out that he will be able to come to Florida as well! So I would like to be able to change my flight so that we can fly together. Is this doable? Or am I going to get slammed with a bunch of extra charges?

You will pay a $150 change fee to Delta, not sure if Orbitz charges also.

Yes, there will be change fees. Can't your boyfriend fly on the flights where you're already booked?

The flight change fees are really related to Delta, not so much Orbitz and it's based on the fare purchased. If you purchased the lowest fare, you are probably looking at a $150 change fee, plus anything Orbitz may charge (as others have pointed out).

Orbitz will charge you $30 to change your ticket, on top of the fee charged by Delta for domestic flights, which is $150.00. This information is readily available on the Delta and Orbitz websites. Plus, you will pay any difference in fares if the price has increased.

It's usually a good idea to book directly with the airline rather than through a travel website.
