Flames anyone?

To be on the DIS is to be EVENTUALLY flaaaaamed....

If not you're just not posting enough!!

Flames have been AIMED at me more times than I can imagine since 1998... most of which when I was a moderator, a job I wouldn't wish on my worse enemy btw... you're treated like target practive and you work your natural butt off!

I had one guy over on the USF boards that started sending me some of the worse, most degrading, CUSS FILLED PMs, mostly because he was trying to push his own personal website which is not allowed. This guy was horrendous ... sounded like he had lost his mind! Luckily WebmasterAlex intercepted and took over... it was like cyber stalking!

Other than that I've been aimed at but I usually just DUCK. If you aren't dealing with me face to face it doesn't, and they don't, matter.

I think my biggest flame came from a thread regarding taking newborns and infants to WDW.....the posters also acted like you can't come out of your house most months of the year if you live in FL due to the heat, etc.

Also, celebrating your (or family member's) birthday at WDW when it isn't the ACTUAL day. We take an October trip and a February trip for each of my daughter's birthdays (10/31 and 2/10), we purchase a specialty cake from one of the restaurants and we've even held a small "party" at 1900 Park Fare...but the heat that comes off those threads is really really HOT! People get so freakin' worked up about what everyone else is doing --- it's amazing!

OMG! I KNOW! Don't you LOVE it when people tell you how to take care of YOUR babies?

I always thought it was so stupid how many people would get all bent out of shape over babies outside in Florida in the summer. What do they think all of the people who LIVE in Florida do? Hibernate?

Personal opinion here... no need to flame... but I have to say that I do think that Prince (and/or his symbol) would not be a very good mother.

Oh where do I begin....

First "Flame" was for saying I don't think letting kids wear Heely's was a big deal and that WDW only banned them for liability purposes and people shouldn't complain about them so much. LOL! Boy a got FLAMED for that. I was a newbie.

Got another good one for asking what age was appropriate for letting girls shave their legs. Mind you, I never said I would or wouldn't let DD chave at a given age. But I ws told to lighten up and let her chose....although I never said I wouldn't. But that was a good "flame" because I eventually made some great friends out of that thread.

The Biggest Flame was for buying TMX Elmos and selling them on Ebay. I was beaten to death for that one. LOL.

I am sure there are others, but those are the ones that stick out.

I always find it funny when the self righteous, judgmental, holier than thous come out. I wonder if they would ever attack someone liek that in person or on the phone even. I wonder if half of them are as perfect as they claim to be.

That was funny! This is coming from a person who's father was a quadrapalegic and in a wheelchair so no flames please.

I'm always amazed at what gets people riled up.

Um, well I got flamed for suggesting I would not take kindly to people taking inventory of the items in my grocery cart and then looking at what form of payment I use to buy those groceries.

My worst flame ever came from posting on the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board that my inlaws were not impressed with Cypress Pointe. OMG, they not only came out with torches they had the pitchforks too. I suspect it has something to do with time share ownership...

I have been flamed 3 times (so far):

The first time I was cursed out on a Big Brother thread, for pulling for my favorite guy on the tv show. Thank goodness a moderator got involved in that one.

The second time was on a positives/negatives on living in Florida thread.

And the third one was on a Katrina/political thread because I voiced my opinion based on personal experience of what had happend to a family member in New Orleans.

I constructed this thread out of flame retardant material, so I'm not too worried. Hit me with your best torch!
