I got flamed by an active military person because I argued against the Iraq war back when we had a debate board around here. (It turns out that I was right-Iraq did not have WMDs.) She even PM'd me saying that I was anti-American, Love or Leave America crap, etc., etc., etc. I replied by finding the quotes in my sig

After receiving the PM I remember thinking what a poor example of an Air Force person. I was embarassed for all of the wonderful members of our Air Force, but alas bad eggs will always slip through the cracks

I've had some minor flaming from the old Debate Board (I was once told I wasn't a real Christian....ah, the memories. In fact, one response to my very first post was a flame. Luckily I have thick skin. )

I did flame someone once...I blame it on the pregnancy hormones. (This was 2+ years ago, obviously!) But they deserved it.

I was wondering - when we go to WDW in December, should we tell our server Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas? If it matters, we're going with my toddler, to Victoria and Albert's, at 8 pm - but we're from the West Coast so that's really 5 pm for us. He is still breastfeeding, also - would that bother the other patrons? Oh, and we can't go AT Christmas because it would be so crowded, so we're going to take him out of preschool.... Oh, and he doesn't sit at the dinner table well, so we're just going to put a leash on him to keep him close to the table.

ummm...no...I will just add that I always steal the strollers that people leave outside of rides, because, after all...if they take all their stuff out of it, that must mean that they are done with it, and it's fair game, right?

I'm feeling feisty today, maybe I should start a thread and ask if it's ok to not pay admission to WDW for my 7 year old since she's small for her age and could get away with being 3!

Funny!! I don't know if I was flamed or not but after reading a number of these, "Do you think it would be OK if I...." [ripped off the system], [did something I'm not supposed too], [lied or stole something], [did not pay full price], [etc]....I posted a thread a couple of months ago on one of the other boards asking if others thought it would be ok if I tunneled from Canada to DW so I didn't have to pay the ticket price; or throw my husband over the fence of AK so that he could get in for free; or said my 22 year old was under three since he was small for his age & didn't eat much & it would save us money...blah, blah, blah....

I thought I was being very witty & posted it & left for the morning & came home to see that though my little post had garnished a dozen responses, I couldn't read them because the conveaner had yanked my thread & sent me a nasty letter saying I was causing trouble!! I would have loved to have known exactly what trouble I was causing but because I was never allowed to read the responses, I have never found out!!

Anyway, apparently it's NOT causing trouble when you just don't know if it's legitally/morally right or wrong to rip off the system but it IS causing trouble if you try to write a funny piece of bunk about it!!! Live & Learn I guess!!

I don't think I've ever been really flamed, but I have had a few people basically talk down to me because of my opinion and I did have one who thought I was a horrible person because of what I said...but I have never been jumped all over. Probably because if I go to post something that might be a bit nasty or not PC I tend to not hit the send button...I will type it all out but just never send it (maybe I'm a big chicken!)

That was brutal!

What always gets me about the DIS is how just because something is right for someone doesn't mean it's right for the entire world! But some people sure think that if its okay with them, that's the final word!

I think that's what a lot of heated threads come down to!

I was involved in another thread about how rated G movies seemed to be edging more towards what PG movies used to be and so on. It ended up with people telling me how horrible I am because my sons shoot a bb gun under adult supervision. It is CRAZY how mean people can get on the DIS.

Now I don't post anything controversial, unless I'm feeling snarky.

I just go to my clique and talk to them.

I got flamed once for posting a discount code on the budget code for Limited 2. I was pretty much told I didn't know anything about budgeting if I shopped at Limited 2. Whatever.
