Flames anyone?

Well at 1st I couldnt figure out what started my hatred of the poor since I grew up on food stamps and I think I know why ....
They smell wierd
Ok kidding only kidding ( putting on DH bunker gear to avoid the burns this time)

BTW I hate the poor too and don't want poor kids to get nice things for Christmas. This from a thread about why they let kids only put Wii and PS3 on the giving trees at Christmas.

I'm feeling feisty today, maybe I should start a thread and ask if it's ok to not pay admission to WDW for my 7 year old since she's small for her age and could get away with being 3!

Ooh! Make sure you add that you don't want to pay admission for your DD because you need the money to rent a stroller for her. That one will get hot, believe me.

Nobody should have Twinkies for that matter. Things are calming down. What's happening here is actually pretty small in the grand scheme of things, but I'm just not in a good state of mind right now. Thank you for being so kind about it all.

Anyway, to answer the OP's question, I can't say I've been flamed too badly. Backstabbed a bit. Disagreed with a lot. Had my feelings hurt once or twice. But truly, the nice people I've met on here far outweigh the negative and make it so worthwhile.

I don't know if I can say I've really been flamed - did have a couple of people who seemed to intentionally misunderstand my posts. Kind of amusing to sort them out.

And if I'm honest with myself, I LIKE those controversial threads - I get a giggle out of seeing the "trolls" get bashed. I know, I'm just not nice.

Didnt want poor kids to have snacks
Thought that poor people shouldnt have nice clothes and should wear rags to shop

I've only been flamed once that I know of. I don't always go back to the threads I post on so they could be a lot out there.

It was on a game thread. Apparently I posted an incorrect answer. The OP was not happy with my response and let me know.

I've got permanent scars on my left cheek (yes, that cheek!) from the flames I've received on the religious threads! I've since purchased a pair of flame retardent underwear for use when I'm on the CB.

I once posted a rant about how my brother & his family were eating us out of house & home. They came for a visit (the first in about 3 yrs), and I had asked them what they wanted for breakfast, etc. before I went to the store. They told me "nothing" & then ate just about anything that wasn't nailed down, including a brand new box of cereal that I planned to eat for my breakfast the following week. And I'm not talking a family of teenagers--my nephew was 8, his sister was 6, and their younger brothers were 4. And all this eating happened for 2 meals. Well, people started ripping me left & right: didn't I know that kids eat alot? (yes, that is why I asked what they wanted before I went to the store), how dare I expect people to ask before they open things? (well if my dad does it, why can't they?), etc. etc. etc. I didn't know I could ask for a thread to be closed, or I would have done that. It finally died after 2 days, and I left it after the first day of being ripped.

My first flaming was because I had very innocently and naively said something about how funny it was that I saw a lady on a ECV/ECV holding the leash to a seeing eye dog. In my naiveity I didn't even KNOW that they're were "companion dogs". I had only ever seen a blind person with a dog. I thought it pretty funny a blind person to be driving an EVC/ECV(which one IS it?). Well, I didn't even have a chance to come back and explain myself. They went HOG WILD bashing me to peices, telling me I'm a hater and I hate disabled people and God help you if you ever have a disabled child. Filling up several pages in a night. It was HORRIBLE! Thankfully one or 2 people "got it". They tried to stick up for me and had the thread closed since I wasn't there to defend myself. When I got back on the next day or so, I couldn't believe it! I sent a PM to everyone who had bashed me and explained myself. They were still pretty rude to me even then. That was when I realized how mean the DIS community is. Thankfully not everyone. I know where to stay away from though. If I was going to refill my old mug, pool hop, or put an extra person in a room, I sure as heck wouldn't tell any of you!
