Hello Everyone, We will be first time WDW visitors and cruisers, leaving this Sunday 4/14 for a land/sea package. I have been reading the boards for a few weeks, but have a few questions I have not seen before.

First, since we are travelling east, we lose day one of our 4 day land portion. To make up for that, we are staying an additional day in Downtown Disney before flying west on Mon. 4/22. We have Cirque tickets for Sun. evening at 6:00p.m. I am looking for some advice on what to do for the day. We have purchased transfers through Disney, so as it stands now, the luggage(and the five of us-2 adults, three girls ages 10,8 and6) are going to the airport to rent a car and drive back to Dowtown Disney. This seems like a waste of valuable of time. Is there a place near Cape Canaveral we can rent a car and avoid going to the airport on Sun? Does DCL have a system for people not flying out right away? Would a taxi be better for travelling to DD and then to the airport on Mon., and skipping the rental car altogether? If we are stuck going to the airport, how much time will be spent going to and from Orlando?

Second, I have several ideas for spending the day (providing we have time) and I'd like some opinions on what is most feasible, given the fact we will need to be at La Nouba by 5:15. 1) hang out at Downtown Disney, swim at hotel pool; 2) Typhoon Lagoon; 3) Kennedy Space Center; and 4) attempt a few more hours at MK, Epcot or MGM. Any others?????

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

i'm unable to provide info on most of your questions, but I do know that you can get a rental car in Cocoa Beach (Hertz and Avis for sure) ... i think it's just a mile or so from the terminal for dcl ...

I would go with the port rental cars, for rental places at Port Canaveral check out Daves site www.dcltribute.com he has a list of rental car places at port. As far as suggestions on what to do on Sunday before the Cirque De Sol show. I would suggest Disney Quest, we spent almost a whole day there when we went. Its alot of fun, it also depends on the kids ages, but we had a blast and my kids were 9 and 8 at the time. Unless your girls are big space fans I would not suggest the Kennedy Space Center. In my experience with my 8 year old daughter, she hated every minute we were at Kennedy Space Center. Just my thoughts. Have a great trip, we are doing the 7 night land/sea May 2003. 386 days and counting everyone of them:D

I do know that Avis does run a shuttle to/from the DCL terminal so you can get a car without too much hassle. As far as the rest, you do retrieve your own luggage when you disembark the ship, so that shouldn't be too much trouble.
