"You've heard of the golden rule, haven't you? Whoever has the gold makes the rules!"- Aladdin
After lunch David and I needed to leave in order to make our Disney Vacation Club tour appointment, so we exited the park and immediately spotted our van driver. The driver was friendly and chatted with us a bit about our vacation as we drove to Saratoga Springs Resort. Now I thought CSR looked spread out, but SSR looked even more so! It was very pretty though, and the driver told us they play the call to the races over by the pool area every hour. Since we aren't horse race fans this didn't mean much to us, but it shows the depth of the themeing I guess.
We were shown into the lobby of the tour area, and greeted by more friendly people. then escorted to an open area that had coffee, tea, and water. I had got coffee, hoping it was REAL coffee, which it was! After I fixed my coffee another friendly person came over and escorted us further into the building and to a cozy little sitting area. There were lots of these little sitting areas tucked all over. We were in a corner one and settled onto the couch.
In what seemed like only a few minutes our salesman came over and greeted us and took us back to one of the little office where he explained some stuff to us. I don't really remember to much, it was mostly stuffed I'd already learned on the internet. Except I didn't know that Disney is building DVC rooms at The Grand Californian in
Disneyland so I was excited to hear that! After he got through his explanation we were taken out to the tour.
We were shown the Saratoga Villa rooms first and then the Animal Kingdom Villa rooms. I tried to take as many pictures as I could without feeling like to giant of a dork.
After we were shown the villas, which are gorgeous, and huge, we were taken back to one of the little offices where our salesman gave us a very soft sale on purchasing DVC that day. He had told us right up front that 80% of people do not purchase same day, they go back to their rooms or home and think about and then buy. Now I was all for purchasing right then and there, but David being the more financially responsible said no let's wait until we get into the new house. *sigh* I really wanted to be able to say I was a DVC member! We were given a book titled "Dreams" that has lots of DVC information in it, which I have about worn out by now, and two $15.00 Disney gift cards before we left the office. We then were shown through the ice cream parlor, but we passed on treats, since one we were still full from lunch, and two we were anxious to get back to Hollywood Studios.
We had a different van driver on our way back to the park, but he was also very friendly. We drove past the "tree houses" that use to be part of a resort? Anyway he said they are used as housing now, mostly for the young international cms who work at Epcot. We driven back to the gates of the park and we immediately started trying to call the kids and Aunt Pat on the cell phones to meet up with them.
*P.S. Honey we are now in the new house! *
