Wow - cool! Yes, I knew these were definitely not "authentic" - I've seen pics of the ones in Bora Bora on various travel shows, and also on an Ellen episode awhile ago (she and Portia stayed there - maybe for their honeymoon?). ANd I def knew the water in WDW is NOTHING like that water, for SURE!I have stayed in an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora. These are nothing like the real thing. The water in Bora Bora is crystal clear with tropical fish swimming around, not dirty with snakes and 'gaters. The real ones have many glass cutouts in the floor, coffee tables, etc. so you can see directly into the water.
It's kindof like saying Taco Bell is Mexican food.....
If they are your "thing", enjoy them, but don't think they are authentic....
I dunno - the tiki is kinda cute, and also kinda creepy (IMHO - I think it might be the prominent belly button that makes me feel that way - LOL). It also kinda reminds me of Stitch, though I'm not sure why. I have to say - I realize I'm in the vast minority of saying I didn't like the old lobby (too dark, and that huge "blob" in the middle always looked "messy" to me). I love the new lobby, just don't really care for Tiki Man.I see that the Tiki has gone up in the lobby, too!
They look nice, but unless you have points(or money)to burn, you'd be better off booking a flight to Bora Bora for a stay in the "real" thing. Flights around $1500 and a bungalow for $600-1000/night.

I love the idea of the Bungalows, and they look really nice, but looking at those pictures, all I can think of is getting eaten alive by mosquitoes.![]()
They do go up and down between 2000-2500 based on seasons so it will probably take a bit longer than 2 years. But still is insane.Photos look amazing!
Len Testa posted the following on twitter which I thought was fascinating:
"If Disney rents all Poly bungalows at $2500/night they'll earn what Walt paid for all WDW land ($37.6MM in 2015 $) in 2 years, 4 days."
My apologies for not having a better way to post something from twitter.
