First look: Photos of Disney's new Polynesian Villas & Bora Bora Bungalows

Great pics, thanx. I wonder how "private" you would feel in these things though (since they're so close to the beach, watercraft, and the "main buildings"? I have to say too that I would much rather stay in a studio than in one of these, even though "the concept" sounded cool to me.

I have stayed in an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora. These are nothing like the real thing. The water in Bora Bora is crystal clear with tropical fish swimming around, not dirty with snakes and 'gaters. The real ones have many glass cutouts in the floor, coffee tables, etc. so you can see directly into the water.

It's kindof like saying Taco Bell is Mexican food.....

If they are your "thing", enjoy them, but don't think they are authentic....

For the $2500 per night you might as well fly to Bora Bora for the real thing

But these are cool looking

Thanks for the great pictures Matt!

Wow - cool! Yes, I knew these were definitely not "authentic" - I've seen pics of the ones in Bora Bora on various travel shows, and also on an Ellen episode awhile ago (she and Portia stayed there - maybe for their honeymoon?). ANd I def knew the water in WDW is NOTHING like that water, for SURE! :)

I see that the Tiki has gone up in the lobby, too!
I dunno - the tiki is kinda cute, and also kinda creepy (IMHO - I think it might be the prominent belly button that makes me feel that way - LOL). It also kinda reminds me of Stitch, though I'm not sure why. I have to say - I realize I'm in the vast minority of saying I didn't like the old lobby (too dark, and that huge "blob" in the middle always looked "messy" to me). I love the new lobby, just don't really care for Tiki Man.

They look nice, but unless you have points(or money)to burn, you'd be better off booking a flight to Bora Bora for a stay in the "real" thing. Flights around $1500 and a bungalow for $600-1000/night.

It's really not a bad trip. We flew to LA. It was then around 7 hours. You do have to take a local flight to Bora Bora. The local people are so nice and most speak English.

They are beautiful. Tastefully tropical and I love the artwork. But I have in snowball chance in you know where of staying in them at those prices.

$1,000 a night for an overwater bungalow at one of the top properties. $1,500 would be for a coach seat. And then you also have to book another flight from Tahiti to Bora Bora so you're probably looking at $1,800 a person at a minimum for a coach seat.

Activities and food on the island are where people start reaching their hands into your wallet.

I love the idea of the Bungalows, and they look really nice, but looking at those pictures, all I can think of is getting eaten alive by mosquitoes. :scared:

Oh thank goodness I thought it was just me. It will be interesting to see how they can keep the bugs away

Bug Spray. Or maybe a cintronella candle (too dangerous?). :)

They are so beautiful, but I certainly can't afford one night in these. Oh, well!! Thumbs up to those who can, what a treat!

Photos look amazing!

Len Testa posted the following on twitter which I thought was fascinating:

"If Disney rents all Poly bungalows at $2500/night they'll earn what Walt paid for all WDW land ($37.6MM in 2015 $) in 2 years, 4 days."

My apologies for not having a better way to post something from twitter.

They do go up and down between 2000-2500 based on seasons so it will probably take a bit longer than 2 years. But still is insane.
