This will be my first "full" DVC visit. The last two trips I only stayed 1 night each time pre and post cruise. I know that you do not get daily housekeeping unless you pay for it seperately. I never thought much about it and I figured it wouldn't be that big of deal having to make a bed and tidy up some. Well now that it's getting closer and I am starting to make a list of things I want for my Owners Locker I am starting to think of other things.

1. Do you only get the 4 rags and 4 towels to last you 4 days? If so do you all bring extras or I think I read somwhere you can pay for a pack of extras to use?

2. I don't even know if I payed attention to the trash cans but I am assuming you get a couple of the small ones, do you bring extra trash bags and if so is there a big dumpster somewhere to take the trash out yourself? What size bags do you bring if you need to bring them?

3. For those that have owners lockers....is there anything you have found reallty helpful that someone might not think of? I have all the toiletries, panchos, sunblock, laundry items, etc.

Well will be at AKV in a studio if that helps any.

Thanks!

You get the starter pack of towels and you can wash them in your unit should you need more before Trash and Towel day (day 4 of your stay). Trash baskets will have extra liners in the bottom of the basket for future use. There will be plenty of extra dish washer soap and hand dishwashing soap available. If you need more of anything in that department or paper products, you just call housekeeping, and they bring it to you. One thing you might want to bring is your own brand of laundry detergent, since they will only give you a starter one load box of Tide at the begining and another on T&T day.

OOPS! Just noticed you will be in a studio. Studio folks still have free laundry facilities, but they are in a central laundry room instead of your unit, and you will NOT get the Tide in your unit.

What exactly is in the starter pack of towels?

What exactly is in the starter pack of towels?

A bath towel, washcloth and hand towel for each person up to the occupancy of the villa. Plus a bath mat. If there are towel animals, they're extra (and apprciated!)

When we stay in a 1 bedroom or larger, we just constantly wash our towels. The one time we stayed in a studio, I had to ask for 2 extra towel packs. I was more than willing to pay for them, but even though they gave me a song and a dance about charging me for them, they did not charge me. When we drive down, I also bring our beach towels (which double as blankets in the car).

I personally think that the number of towels they give in a studio or 1 bedroom aren't enough for a family of 4. The week we stayed in the studio, I also became super strict with my children regarding hanging the towels to dry after each use. My two teen/preteens use 2 towels at a shot (one for body and one for hair).

Thanks! I guess I may be getting some towels and washcloths for my locker. I don't mind using my big towel a couple of times but I don't think I want to re-use my washcloth :scared1: I plan on doing laundry since we will be there for 2 weeks and I don't want to take tons of luggage so it won't be that big of a deal.
