Finally! My Very First Solo Trip - Pictures have been added!!!

This is hard not being able to talk about my trip. I did tell my friend April this evening. She is the kind of friend who says "You dog, how lucky can you get" and completely not be jeolous or anything and completely understand the whole I want to go by myself. She was as excited for me as I am for me. What a great friend!:goodvibes She is the friend who is going with me in January.

I received a pin card in the mail yesterday for the free QS with a package, but I'm not doing a package as I already have an AP. But I did price it out and the AP room only discount I got is way better than the free QS. I was debating adding the QS plan to my reservation, but wasn't sure if it would save me and $$. So as any good Disser would do, I went to AllEars and printed out the various CS menus of places I would probably eat at and priced out my meals. Nope, won't save me any $$. So, this trip will be completely out of pocket. Found a couple new CS places I am going to try. I always have to plan meals with the family in mind, this time, I can eat where ever I want. :yay: Plus a lot of times I will get a kids meal. The portions are better for me and I like their sides better. :thumbsup2

Hollywood Studios

Must dos:
Great Movie Ride
Indiana Jones – never seen it
Star Tours
Toy Story Mania
Beauty & the Beast – never seen it
Tower of Terror
One Man’s Dream

If I have time:
Back lot Tour
Disney Animation
Little Mermaid
Wander through Streets of America

If anyone sees anything I may have missed or think I should try, by all means. All suggestions are welcome. The crowds are projected to be low that week, so I really think I will get to do everything I want and then some.

Watch out for the Streetmosphere. I love to stop and watch them.

Yes Dj, I am leaning towards POP, but I am really going to look at maps this weekend and decide by Monday morning. I am fine with a Value as it is just me and I am just happy to be there. Staying off site?!? :scared1: I hope Mickey doesn't find out. I just hope I don't have to flip a coin on Monday morning!

Top three attractions at each Park. That's easy.

Magic Kingdom
Haunted Mansion
Big Thunder Mountain
Carousel of Progress

Epcot
Test Track
Living with the Land
Space Ship Earth

Hollywood Studios
Muppets in 3D - I heard will be closed :sad1:
Tower of Terror
One Man's Dream

Animal Kingdom
Dinosaur
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Primeval Whirl - which has been broke the last three times I have tried to ride it.

Holy cow I'm way behind on gettin' caught up here with your plans. I'm cooking some corned beef and cabbage for dinner tonight so I have a moment while keeping an eye on it.

I love your three choices at MK but not WEDway People Mover? (I know it has a new name but I can't ever remember it for the life of me!) WEDway is one of my top favorites at MK. I just love looking at all the people down below and "zipping" here and there throughout the park. I also love Peter Pan. How about Pirates? Another of my favs.

Did you forget Soarin' at Epcot or do you really not enjoy it that much? It's one of my favorites and I always ride it and get a FP for later in the day. Love smelling the citrus as we fly over those trees!!

What do you think of the new Spaceship Earth? (Don't tell but I preferred Walter Cronkite and the old version myself!)

At DHS I love love love TofT!! Always have to ride it 3-4 times each visit. I am saddened to hear Muppets 3D is closing. I didn't know that and will miss it a lot! I love their street acts.

Wait, wait, wait!! There must be an error at AK. No EE for you? Really??? :scared1: It's my absolute favorite ride of all time. I ride it until I can barely walk straight as I exit through the gift shop. If everything is weaving, I know it's time to call it quits on EE for that day. I usually get to ride that one with a stranger because none of my family or friends except for my DH will ride it with me.

I have been thinking of things that I want to do on this trip, favorites, must dos, things I have never done before. Of course, I plan to stop on a park bench and just watch the crowds occasionally. I love to do that. Since the Magic Kingdom is my favorite park, I'll begin with that one.

Magic Kingdom
Must dos:
Pirates of the Caribbean
Mickey’s PhilharMagic
Big Thunder Mountain RR
Haunted Mansion
Space Mountain
Carousel of Progress
People Mover
Buzz Lightyear
It’s a Small World
Mad Hatter Tea Party
Mickey’s House – Pic w/Mickey
Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor

Would like to do:
Jungle Cruise
Swiss Family Tree house
Country Bear Jamboree
Tom Sawyer Island
Liberty Belle Riverboat
Pics w/Pooh & Tigger

If I run out of things to do:
Hall of Presidents
Walt Disney Railroad
Magic Carpets
Snow White
Peter Pan
Winnie the Pooh
Stitch

Do you think they will let me on Goofy’s Barnstormer without a child?:upsidedow

Now this looks more like it, Eyor! I see lots of my favs that weren't in your top three as noted previously. I also love Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor. Wouldn't miss that one. Since DH is a political science major, I've learned to appreciate and now wouldn't miss the Hall of Presidents. I say go for the Barnstormer even if you have to kneel down to be shorter than 40"!! I hope you'll post a picture of you with one of the characters when you get back home.

Don't burn the dinner Dj! :goodvibes

I love your three choices at MK but not WEDway People Mover?
It's number 4. I love the People Mover.

Did you forget Soarin' at Epcot or do you really not enjoy it that much? It's one of my favorites and I always ride it and get a FP for later in the day. Love smelling the citrus as we fly over those trees!!
And that is exactly what I don't like about Soarin. The artificial scents. I have problems with those, but I do like the ride itself.

What do you think of the new Spaceship Earth? (Don't tell but I preferred Walter Cronkite and the old version myself!)
It's okay, but I like the old version better.

I am saddened to hear Muppets 3D is closing. Muppets is just going into refurb from what I understand. hope it is only a refurb! I  my muppets!

Wait, wait, wait!! There must be an error at AK. No EE for you?
I have to be in the right mood for EE. I like to be in the back of coaster rides, but on EE there isn't any true back cause halfway through you are suddenly in the front. :scared1: I think I may try it again and ask for the middle this time. :thumbsup2

:goodvibes

I have always loved HoP, but I saw it in January and well, we'll see.

I may have to try this!:lmao:

I hope you'll post a picture of you with one of the characters when you get back home.
I hope to post several pics from this trip.

I'm joining in! I've wanted to do a solo trip. The most that I've gone solo is sending DH off alone in the rain to ride the Haunted House, while I walked around Tomorrowland.

Your agenda sounds like fun... cannot wait to hear more.

Note to self: DO NOT tell anyone else about this trip. I mentioned it to one of the guys in another department and he was like, "oh, take our secretary with you. She could use a trip." I was like "uh, uh, uh......no" and thought of a good reason she couldn't go. Worked, but whoa, that was close.

I did tell my DB and he is jeolous. His company won't allow him to stay anywhere's more than 15 minutes away from where his meetings are. :sad2: Poor thing.

But, I am not telling anyone else. I am being totally selfish this time and going by myself. :snooty: I'll tell the kids and Gram the week before I leave.

I wish I could just keep my mouth shut after I start planning a solo trip, but I get so excited that I can't keep it a secret. Then I regret it but it's too late.:guilty:

I think you will really enjoy Indiana Jones and Beauty & the Beast shows. The Great Movie Ride and Toy Story Mania tie for second for me after ToT.

Eyor, can I go with you on your SOLO trip? :lmao: (j/k!!)

I hope to post several pics from this trip.

Oooh, please do!!!

Hi Peggy, :wave2:thanks for joining in.

During my trip in January, my friend decided to go back to the room after dinner, so I spent the evening at MK by myself. Once you get used to saying "One" on the rides, it's great.

That's me. I almost told someone last week and I stopped myself just in time. I did tell a couple guys here at work and they looked at each other and one said "Why aren't we that excited when we go on a trip?":lmao: I don't have to worry about them. They don't like Disney. :scared1::sad2: I'm thinking of having them commited.

Ummmmmmmm..........:scratchin......:scratchin.......:scratchin.........ummmmmmm........no, not this time.......how 'bout next time

:sad2: oh Dj.........

popcorn:: I've now been to Disney so many times solo that it's weird when someone wants to join me on a trip. They throw my entire schedule out of whack. It's going to be fun. No one telling you where to go, what to do

LOL I feel the same way! The last time I was at WDW with a larger group of people I couldn't help but think how much more I would have been able to accomplish if I were on my own.
I love the companionship but sometimes it's nice to run on "me standard time" :cool1:

Enjoy your freedom Eyorr44 :woohoo:
Now don't spoil it for yourself by adding too many people
I bet you will love it so much that you will have to go SOLO again!

Lindsay (currently planing my 8th and 9th solo's  )

Hello Lindsay :wave2: and :welcome:

Naw Dj is just kidding. She wasn't really asking to join me (were you Dj?!?:scared1:) :lmao:

Freedom....yes, ::yes:: that is the correct word. Freedom to come and go as I please, to eat what I want, when I want, to ride or watch what I want. Sounds so incrediably selfish, but......I'm gonna do it anyway. :thumbsup2

The only person I am adding to this trip is going to see DOAS (dirty ole Aunt Sharon) if possible. And that will be just for a couple hours one evening.

Of course, this evening DH starts asking me if I have my hotel reservations and all. Hello, where have you been for the past two weeks! He missed the whole saga of where to stay. :sad2: He was busy planning his own trip. The "get out of town before she figures out what I did/didn't do while she was gone" trip. :rotfl2: Anyway, here he is in the middle of the kitchen asking all kinds of questions when either of the kids could walk in at any minute. Subtle is not his strong suit. :rolleyes1

49 days....49 days until I am at Disney....:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Lucky dog! It's still -what? - 9 months for me? I won't be back until January for the next marathon. :sad1: I really want to make it in Oct one year for Food and Wine.

You can't get away? Not even for a long weekend?

I thought I had posted this, but then couldn't find it, :confused3so I guess I hadn't.

If I visit AK, which right now I am not sure about. I have really bad allergies and all of the plants and animals in AK make me sick sometimes. It will all depend on how I am feeling, but I may pop over for a couple of hours. Or on the one late EMH as scents don’t bother me as much at nighttime, though I would miss a couple of the main things I would like to do there. I will just wait and see on this one.

But if I do go, here is what I would like to see.
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Dinosaur
Primeval Whirl
Pangani Forest Exploration Trail
Flights of Wonder
Maharaja Jungle Trek

Ummmmmmmm..........:scratchin......:scratchin.......:scratchin.........ummmmmmm........no, not this time.......how 'bout next time
:rotfl: Yes, I was totally kidding. I just wanted to see how you would react to my plea! I wouldn't deprive you of this wonderful opportunity. I'm trying to learn how to stay mum around friends and family so I can take a solo trip sometime soon! :thumbsup2

:sad2: oh Dj.........

Yes, DE44, I truly was kidding, but I could hear that big gulp you took way up here in MN. ;)

DOAS=dirty ole Aunt Sharon? I hope we hear more about her!

Sounds like a terrific plan except I'd have to add EE about six times in order to go back home happy. :dance3: :upsidedow

You can't get away? Not even for a long weekend?

Not if I want to stay at the Boardwalk Inn in January (which I do). But the January trip will be a full vacation this time – not just a long week-end for the marathon like it was in January 2010. Also, I’m supposed to be saving for the Alaskan cruise that I’ve promised my mother I’d take her on next year.
