I want to know which one of us is the most compulsive when it comes to organizing their pins (or any other collectables).
Why do you think you are compulsive about it?
And what is your system!?;)

I'll draw first blood here. I arrange my pin book like this I start off with a Disneyland page and go by land order placing each attraction or event pin in the right place. Then I move to the DisneyWorld page starting off with MK then the other parks in order of when they opened then put all the right attraction/ride or event in it's proper park or land. With Tokyo DL and DL Paris it's all arranged on one page. There are some pins that have there own page simply because I'm not sure where they might go.

And there you have it thats my system of arranging pins. I must go now the men in the white coats are coming to take me away Ha-Ha :)

I'll confess. I'm pretty compulsive about how I organize my pins, too. I have a plastic container that holds all my keepers from Japan. There's another plastic container that has my trading pins from Japan. I usually keep these two boxes on the dining room table. All of my best traders are currently on two plates in the china cabinet and the pins I'm holding to trade with my friend in Japan are all together on a shelf in my office. Swamp Fox has a separate page for pins that he's not sure where they belong -- I use a similar system, I have two cardboard boxes in my office that hold pins I'm not sure where they belong.

I do have some of my keepers in a book -- carefully arranged by however I happened to pick them up when I found a few minutes to "organize" them.

If you think I'm kidding, ask my daughter -- she'll tell you I'm not. This is actually where my pins are at the current time. I organize my photographs the same way -- my wedding pictures from 36 years ago right next to a picture of my granddaughter playing on the slide.

Oddly enough, this system actually works for me, and I could tell you where any of my pins are at any time (well, most of the time) And I do actually have two sets of pins framed in a manner that would make sense to most people, one of Tokyo pins and one of my favorite year 2000 pins. I'm not sure how that happened!

Okay.....keep in mind that the day I become organized.......geez........BUT when it comes to my pins......ANAL COMPULSIVE comes to mind....lol

here is what crazy Lynnie does:

I have all my pins on towels......which I hang on dowels and hang on the wall........I like to be able to see them....

I have all Disneyland on one.......Pooh on another.......OTHER characters on another.......movies on another.......Resorts,Waterparks, DTD,Sports stuff (ie marathons etc),Cruise Line on another......and the BIG one......has

Mostly all my 2000 pins on it.......I have them grouped by Park.......EPCOT, MK, DAK, Studios in thier own little cluster.........then a HOLIDAY cluster, Event Cluster..and then Series clusters......E ticket, Small world Dangles etc......

Okay .....so I am a nut......what is new! lol

OK does it make my compulsive if I have reorganized my books 3 times anticipating the pin event.

I am still not happy witht he way they are so I am sure at least 1 more go through is on the way.

I doubt I'll ever be oragnized! I do try to keep like pins with like pins, especially in my keeper book. But other than that I'll but them anywhere they fit! Makes finding them more of a challenge!

What's the opposite of compulsive??

There are pins in my binders, pin books, framed pins, pins on the desk, pins in bags, pins on my lanyard, pins on a bulletin board......they are like tribbles.....they keep multiplying.....help!!!!

I worked on my collection almost every night - changing the way they are organized or changing them from book to book.

And I really hate when I pin comes off of a page and then the whole page does not look right - so I pull all the pins off and start all over, but then I have to throw away the foam sheets because I hate holes in the sheets if there is not pin there.

Geez - I am a mess.

And then after every meet or every day of trading, I start all over again.

Do most of you remove your traders from the carboard card when you put them in your trading books? I always have trouble giving myself permision tio remove them from the cards in case someone wants the card with it.

I've got to get started organizing my book(s) for the pin event!

I have removed some from the cards, but I just keep the card. If need be, I just stick it back on a card when trading via mail.
At someone's suggestion here, I did buy trading card binder sheets. (Fit in a binder with little pockets.) A package of ten pages cost just over $2 at Office Max. The only other thing I had to do was put a little piece of tape at the top of each pocket to keep the pin/card from sliding out.
Michael's had nicer sheets, but they were too big and much more expensive. And because of the odd size, I would have had to buy a $40+ case to carry them. The sheets were really for stickers.
