Loved the duckie rescue! I always feel bad for them ducks when kids chase them. My kids are scared of the ducks, so they don't chase them.

Poor little dolphin... maybe he was in a timeout?

May 14th continued

We continued to make our way through World Showcase admiring the flowers as we passed through Canada and England. We were headed to the International Gateway and the pavilions were not yet open for the day.

As some of you may have guessed we were headed for lunch at Beaches and Cream as per our usual Epcot routine. We always make sure to arrive at the restaurant right around 11am which is when they open. This guarantees us a booth and no wait to be seated. This can be very hard to come by later in the day at Beaches and Cream since they do not offer ADR's.

Before the trip Alek and Erich had declared that they were each going to get a Kitchen Sink of their own and battle it out to see who could eat the most ice cream and thus win bragging rights. Would they follow through on this challenge?

Before the ice cream we had to have lunch. Originally I had though Alek and Erich would skip lunch and just eat the ice cream but I guess they changed their minds. We all ordered burgers and Mom ordered the chicken noodle soup.

The burgers were delicious as always. I think they are a great deal. They cost only a dollar more than a counter service burger, they are better quality and you get more.

Mom said that her soup was okay although she found it rather bland.

We chowed down eagerly anticipating our dessert!

I ordered a No Way Jose for myself as I would not be participating in the Kitchen Sink challenge.

I think Alek was wishing he was getting my dessert.

The No Way Jose was delicious but I was only able to eat about half of it.

Mom ordered the Brownie a la mode.

Sadly for this trip report Alek and Erich came to their senses and decided that they would not each get a Kitchen Sink and that they would instead share one.

Pinky out! Erich always tries to maintain proper manners while at the table.

Time: 30 minutes They have decided that they are finished. All that is left is a soup like mixture and the mush of soggy toppings at the bottom of the sink.

How do you think they did?

All the other people in the restaurant were very interested in the proceedings and were always looking over to see how things were going. They seemed to think we were their lunchtime entertainment.

Lessa (comments in red above), I think they did great. I couldn't have even taken a bite as I don't like whipped cream (neither does my DH), but that was quite impressive!

I could do without the whipped cream as well but I don't dislike it enough to prevent me from digging in!

Wow, they did a good job on the Kitchen Sink! That was SO on my to-do list on our last trip but alas we never made it there. Now we have a goal for the next trip I guess!

We saw the duck family on our day at Epcot too. I'm glad you were able to help them out!! We've never eaten at B&C, I'm hoping to save that for when we finally get to stay at Yacht or Beach Club. Your No Way Jose looks amazing, is that peanut butter? Why do I always read your updates before I have dinner? Will I never learn! Now I want a burger and I don't even eat beef LOL. I can't believe your brothers finished the kitchen sink. I can't wait to go to Disney with our family and be able to try one - DH & I would never be able to eat that on our own.

I think we were once seated at the same table, if I'm not mistaking. We do enjoy Chef Mickey's too. But it feels like the quality of the food is not as good anymore. Although they do serve other things we normally don't eat anywhere else. And we normally stay at the Contemporary so we do more than one ADR.

I think we were following you guys around the park! I was looking for myself in your video, but I didn't make a cameo. That would have been really funny!

Looks like your brothers did a number on that kitchen sink! One of these family trips I'm going to take my two younger brothers there and see if the three of us can polish one off. We might have to skip lunch, I don't know if we could do the lunch and kitchen sink challenge! I'm really impressed with your brother's eating skills!

Yep, the No Way Jose is chocolate and peanut butter ice cream with hot fudge and peanut butter sauce. It is delicious!

They were determined to finish it. We were all so stuffed from lunch that we didn't eat for the rest of the day.

I always look for my family in TR photos, it is so funny how so many of us were at the same parks on the same days. Even the same areas!

They are proud of their ability to pack in the food.

We hadn't eaten there before this trip so I can't attest to any decline in quality but it was tasty enough to keep me happy.

I don't know about them being the most lovable, they do make fun of me all the time.
