Feeling Hot Hot Hot! The Rain Curse is Broken! Two Weeks of Fun in the Sun! COMPLETE

May 14th continued

We exited Beaches and Cream and slowly made our way back to Epcot. I was stuffed from lunch and I imagine the others were as well.

We admired the Beach Club area, it is always so calm and peaceful there and very pretty. I think that this resort will be in close competition with the Poly for our next vacation.

As we approached the International Gateway I stopped to view the flower beds on display. Mom said she saw a plaque that said these were testing beds.

I decided to take this opportunity to upgrade my park ticket. I had received my ticket for "free" by redeeming Air Miles (a reward program in Canada having very little to do with actual air miles). In order to get the most bang for my buck I ordered a basic 5-day ticket through Air Miles with the intention of upgrading it once in Florida. So I needed to upgrade my ticket to a 10-day ticket with the water park option. I think the upgrade cost me $60-70. Much cheaper that the $300 I would have probably paid for the ticket if I had bought it outright.

My new ticket

Mom had Erich take her picture while they waited for me.

Our destination once reentering the park was England. We wanted to catch the next performance by the World Showcase Players. They are hilarious and the King Arthur and the Holy Grail skit cracks us up every time. I was hoping that Alek or Erich would get picked to be part of the performance. Mom was picked to play Edna back in 2009 in the Players performance of "Romeo and Edna" in Italy. It was hilarious!

On the way I stopped and picked up a return time to get a Kimmunicator. I wanted to try out one of the Kim Possible missions. The return time to get our kimmunicator worked well as it was for half an hour later, just enough time to catch the skit and browse the shops in England.

Alek and Erich were quick to have some fun in the gift shops. They decided to have a duel to the death aided by their faithful and trusty dragons.

I went off on my own after Alek's defeat at Erich's hand.

I saw this cute guy, the Royal Engagement bear. He was nearly $100!

I saw some more cute bears in one of the shops, they were a bit cheaper but still pricey!

There was also tons of "Keep Calm and Carry On" merch, it was everywhere!

After finishing my perusal of the shops I grabbed a spot in the shade in the area I was sure the Players would be setting up in. My guess was correct and they showed up a few minutes later. Sadly neither Alek nor Erich were picked to play Galahad, it was funny nonetheless.

No update today as I spent the day with the family celebrating my birthday. It is not really my birthday until the end of the month but we wanted to see Harry Potter and we weren't sure if we would all have the same day off closer to my actual birthday so we just decided to celebrate today. So while Mom was at work Alek, Erich and I went to see the last Harry Potter film. Then we picked Mom up from work and headed home for some cake. We concluded the evening with a viewing of Office Space. A very eventful birthday. ;)

My cake, not as elaborate or as ridiculous as the ones we make/get for Alek and Erich (you may remember them from the PTR) but it was very nice and pretty.

Erich was having so much fun that he decided to gouge his eye out.

Lastly, these pictures are for teachermommy as I recall from your TR that your family is interested in wind turbines. These were taken last week down at the lakefront park in my town, you can see the dozens of turbines across the lake. :thumbsup2

OOH wind turbines! Awesome! Scott gave them a thumbs up, and Ethan whispered "wind turbines" in awe! Sophie liked the gliders. Finn is having a temper tantrum at the moment, so I'm not sure what he thinks. I got all excited when I saw your bday cake because my bday was yesterday! Then I read that it's at the end of the month. What day? Sophie's bday is on July 30th and Ethan's bday is on July 31st. Just wondering if you are either of their bday buddies! Great update! Somehow I missed the beaches and cream update the other day. I SO wanted a no way Jose Sundae when we went. The wait time for 7 was too long, so we decided to skip it. We did go back for a plain (AKA BORING) ice cream later in the trip, though. The flowers are gorgeous! My favorite was definitely the crocodile.

Happy Birthday!

Looks like I am bday buddies with Sophie. ;)

We were there also on the 15th!
HA I am checking all your photos out extra careful to see if we were anywhere at the same time!

Beaches n Cream sounds sooo yummy. I would be all over the NoWay Jose. mmmm ice cream....I'm thinking about sneaking a piece of Katie's ice cream cake that is left over in the freezer....

Happy Happy Birthday! the lake looks awesome. so refreshing!

I wish I had seen your bros battling in the UK store....:rotfl:

Great Duel to the Death by the Bros!!!:rotfl2:Your cake is very pretty!!! They should have picked the Bros for the show they would have been very dramatic !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

The No Way Jose is delicious but if you eat lunch beforehand make sure to share it with somebody as it is huge!

I know! I was so disappointed! Too bad they randomly pick people instead of asking for volunteers. Then again, if they went that route than Mom never would have been Edna!

I love the Beach Club/Boardwalk area. It is awesome and it's so neat being so close to two parks, mini golf (Fantasia Gardens is not too far) and then all the entertainment of the BW.

Wow, $100 for a Royal Engagement bear? That's crazy! Wonder how many people still had to have it just because it was for that. haha

Oh, the Beach Club looks so nice from the outside, but I still prefer the Polynesian or the Yacht Club. ;) But that's just me.

I've heard so much about the World Showcase players, but I've never managed to see them. It seems I may be looking in the wrong places or something. I'll definitely have to check them out, though I'd be so nervous that I'd get picked... that would be one interesting show right there. O.O Haha

Haha @ the battle to the death between your brothers. I love the pink crown Alek is wearing. I'd be rooting for him the whole time just for that, but I see he was defeated. Phooey :P And I wish I could've watched another clip of your brothers in the show. Based on that video of them in the Backlot Tour pre-show... that would've been one crazy show Hahaha

Wow, I don't think I've ever been in a situation where teddy bears where pricey... well maybe, I'm not surprised either way. The Robin Hood-esque one is the one I like the most:

Oh, Happy Early Birthday! It sounds like you had a fun night. Seeing the last Harry Potter movie... that would be an awesome birthday IMO Hahahaha I'm such a geek.

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

The BC/YC area is so beautiful. Actually, the entire Epcot resort area is beautiful!

Happy early birthday! Your cake is so cute.

Now, back to catch up on your tr. :goodvibes

It is true that there is so much nearby! Too bad the hotels are so expensive!

I have never really looked at the Yacht Club but I suppose that hotel would be okay too since it is basically the sister resort to Beach Club. Check the times guide for the Showcase Players, they are out fairly often. :thumbsup2

Happy (early) birthday Lessa! party: I love the cake you got! It's very very pretty. Is it homemade?

What a bargain you got for upgrading your ticket. How much were those other teddy bears going for? They're so cute!

My oldest's birthday is the 22nd (he will be 22 so it's his "golden birthday") and mine's the 28th. So here are a couple other options for a birthday buddy! :cutie:

Yes they are! I wish they had been cheaper, I would have bought one!

The other bears were in the $50-60 range I believe. They must be some form of collectible because I can't imagine paying that much for a tiny bear like that no matter how cute it is!

The cake was from a local bakery. I told Mom I did not want a generic grocery store cake this year, I said I would be happy with a homemade cake or one from a local bakery. She went with the bakery. ;)

Happy early birthday Lessa & Sophie!

;) Thanks!

We had YC on our list for next year, but the deluxes got kicked to the curb when we decided to add St. Augustine (2nights) and Universal (3 nights) to our trip!

Awesome deal:thumbsup2

I was about to ask "what royla engagement"?;)

You got to do what you got to do! I think I need to research the Yacht Club, I know very little about it other than it shares Stormalong Bay with the Beach Club.

I was about to ask "what royla engagement"?;)

:laughing: I have been a royal watcher since I was a little kid. Will and Kate are my future King and Queen afterall! ;) Nobody else in my family really cares about the royals but I have always been interested in them. :confused3

"Keep Calm and Carry On". It is a saying/poster from WWII that was used in England and it has recently regained popularity after it was rediscovered and has been splashed all over any kind of merchandise you could think of.

Lessa!!! How did I get so far behind??????????

:worship: Please accept my most SINCERE apologies.

Happy birthday!!! Your cake is so pretty and I love the Hidden Mickey! I haven't had a birthday cake in....3 years now. The last one had Sailormoon on it (cause I asked for it) and the year before, I had TMNT (cause I ordered it). I want a Tinkerbell cake for this year's birthday. Enough about me!

So, when are you coming to visit me in Toronto?????

Wow, your review of Chef Mickey's is the nicest I've read so far. I've almost given up on wanting to eat there but now I kinda do...sounds like a nice dinner.

Your Epcot day sounds really nice so far. I can't wait to go home to watch those videos because I don't have sound at work. It looks very funny though! I would love to meet your brothers.

Eels! When I see them, I always think "Mmm, yummy...."

Poor little dolphin all by itself...The two playing around look adorable. So happy!

It's so wonderful that you helped the ducklings reunite! We have all sorts of wildlife on campus and one time, encountered a family of them. The mom had hopped up a curb and the babies were having a really hard time jumping up on it. We couldn't figure out what to do, but the mom eventually came by to help them.

I'm very impressed with your brothers attack on the kitchen sink! I really want to try that with the group I'll be going with.

Those teddy bears are soooo cuuute!!!!!!!!! I want the Peter Pan one already.

Oh, I never thought to ask, but which uni does Erich go to?

You are not that far behind, just a week, I have been updating really quickly. ;)

I suppose I could forgive you. ;)

I would love to have a Sailor Moon cake! I asked Erich to try and find me good copies of the show since all I have are rather bad quality VHS tapes. I don't know why I still love that show, maybe it is sentimental because it was a childhood favourite. :confused3

So, when are you coming to visit me in Toronto?????

I don't know, I would love to come into the city and do the ROM, CN Tower, Casa Loma etc. Work and money are my restraints. I was thinking of a possible meet the day we fly into Toronto after our BC trip next month but I would have to convince the brothers.

If you want to meet the characters, get an early dinner reservation, and go in with realistic expectations of the food quality I think you would like it. :thumbsup2

 They are very in demand. They consider themselves internet celebrities.

Yuck!

Wildlife on our campus, ducks, crazy squirrels that break into houses, bats, "ghetto bugs", the occasional fox.

Those teddy bears are soooo cuuute!!!!!!!!! I want the Peter Pan one already.

I wanted all of them!

Oh, I never thought to ask, but which uni does Erich go to?

He goes to the local college. So not the school Andrew and I went to and not the military school. ;)
