Feeling Hot Hot Hot! The Rain Curse is Broken! Two Weeks of Fun in the Sun! COMPLETE

Hope the new sunscreen works out for you! I guess I need to test out different screens and lotions to find one that works on my face and the rest of my body without causing a reaction.

I got the Ultra Sheer Dry Touch by Neutrogena for C to use and we haven't had any problems. You might also try a baby one. They are good for sensitive skin. :thumbsup2

Chef Mickey's is on ourlist for next year. Jim and Jimmy went the last time we were there, but as you know I was sick, so didn't get to go. Jim said the same thing about the food. Buffet, but filling. Jimmy loved the characters here though!

Ugh, about the sunscreen!

:thumbsup2 I'll have to look for it in the States, we don't have as much variety up here in regards to sunscreen.

I'm glad you will finally get to go to Chef Mickey's!

Love the videos. Your brothers are hysterical.

My son has super sensitive skin. Everything breaks him out. He is able to use AVEENO BABY sunscreen. It is the only one that won't break him out.

Those are great pictures your mom took while walking around in the morning. I think some of the nicer resorts at sunrise look so pretty, especially around bodies of water :goodvibes Sorry you were abruptly woken up, but I think it was all for the better :thumbsup2 I'm still amazed that I'm probably the only person to ever have to sit in the back for the only two rides I've had on Soarin'. I don't know how I never end up in the front, it bothers me so much. I WANT TO SIT UP FRONT! Hahaha Can't wait to read about the rest of your EPCOT day! :mickeyjum

My goodness, I can't believe you were cursed with another rash! Bless your heart!:guilty:

I LOVE the early morning pics of CSR. I don't know what it is about that time of day, but everything just seems so peaceful and serene! I love waking up and heading out early to enjoy the beauty of everything at that time...it's so magical to me!!

Wow, that was a crowd of folks heading to Soarin'. We've never made it to rope drop at Epcot, so I had no idea that everyone would want to go there first!

I love your Chef Mickey's update and pics. I agree i like breakfast there much better than dinner. But my kids always put it on the list even though I planned to skip it this year ;). Your morning pics at CSR are so pretty too! Sorry about your rash. I have that problem too. Did you use coppertone sunscreen?

Lovely back of the Head shots Lessa

Why thank you, I have always thought the back of my head was my best feature. :rotfl:

Waking up abruptly is never good, especially when on vacation!

I know, I was feeling very sorry for myself. Just wait until you hear about what happens to me near the end of the trip. :sad2:

I really enjoy the early morning as well. If I had been sleeping better on the vacation I would have been out and about in the early hours as well. I had planned to jog in the early mornings but that just did not happen given my poor sleep.

Yep, not nearly as bad as the Toy Story Mania crowd but still crazy!

i never get tired of the CS resort pics :thumbsup2

yes you can just ask to wait for the next ride front row center.
;)

works every time.
:3dglasses

 I always feel bad about asking for things like that as I am sure it annoys the CM's.

Nope, I avoid Coppertone since that gave me a rash in 2008 and 2009. I used Hawaiian Tropic this trip which worked well except for on my face!

Alek and Erich decided to document our journey to Soarin on video. You get to hear what it is like to tour the park with Alek and Erich, you also get to stare at the back of my head a lot, bonus! (I am in the white dress with the red bag)

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

OMG Alek & Erich:lmao::upsidedow

We were at Epcot this day, too,but in the evening. All day the 15th. but we totally missed Soarin. (don't ask).

Your mom's photos of CSR are awesome. Love the early early morning shots when the sun is not even up yet.

If DH & I can swing an anniversary trip in June, CSR is our destination.

Ugh, I hate when mistakes like that happen. That happened to me today! I made an appointment to see the nurse at my doctor's office to get some immunization stuff done for school, when I showed up it turned out that the receptionist had made my appointment for next week. :headache: It was storming out at the time as well so I got soaked for nothing!

As for ADR's, I make all of mine online nowadays as the power is all in my hands that way. If a mistake is made I know it is my own fault, it is also nice as you can review all your reservations online after they are booked. :thumbsup2

May 14th continued

After Soarin we made our way over to The Seas. We are so predictable and always seem to follow the same pattern when park touring. Maybe one of these days we will switch things up and head to the Imagination pavilion after Soarin' instead of The Seas!

On the way to visit with Nemo we noticed a family in distress, a duck family that is. The baby ducklings had gotten separated from their mother. They were down on the pavement and she was up on the grass with a dropoff and a fence between them. She couldn't get through the fence to reach them and they couldn't get over the concrete wall to get to her. I wonder why she didn't just fly down there? As it was they just stood there looking at each other quacking and chirping and not moving.

There was another family standing by observing this and we discussed with them what could be done to help the poor ducks out. All sorts of ideas were proposed including trying to fashion some sort of ramp that the ducklings could walk up but of course none of us had anything that could be used. Well Mom being resourceful produced a towel that she had been carrying around in her bag. She proposed that we herd the baby ducks using the towel towards the end of the wall where the fence stopped. Where the babies went the mother would follow and then when she got to the end of the fence she could jump down to them. So that is what we did. While we were deciding what to do the baby ducks were all crowding around Erich. I don't know what it is but animals love Erich. All of our pets always seem to favour him the most. Our dog would sleep with him and only him every night while growing up. She even bit our dad in the rear once while they were playing soccer because she thought he was attacking Erich. :lmao:

Mom just held the towel behind them without touching them and slowly herded them toward a place where it would be easy for them to reunite. The plan worked splendidly and mother and babies were reunited. Hurray!

Video of The Duck Family

Of course as soon as the duck family was reunited and started waddling away some little kids spotted them and started running after them. :sad2: This is one of the reasons I was glad that we spent the time helping the duck family out. I just knew if we left them separated from their mother some kids would come by and start chasing them and they would scatter and who knows what would have happened to them or if they would have found their way back to her. Maybe you all think we are silly to have taken the time to do this but we felt like we had done something really good. :goodvibes

Our good deed for the day accomplished we headed into the pavilion. We rode Nemo and then checked out all the aquariums.

The dolphins were very playful although I did feel bad for the one dolphin who was in a connecting tank who just floated by the gate and watched the other two play.

The eels really creeped me out but Erich seemed to like them.

I feel like we spent a good chunk of time looking at all the aquariums. After we were done we meandered our way through the park towards the start of the World Showcase admiring the flowers and sand sculpture as we passed through.

There was a stand giving away free apple sauce near the sand sculpture and I encouraged Mom to take some to snack on since it would be easy for her to eat.

Where are we headed next? I provided a hint at the start of this chapter and those who have read my past reports should be able to make a good guess. ;)

Lessa, I missed the first part of the Epcot update, but am now all caught up. The videos of your brothers heading to Soarin' had me :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: They are just a hoot!

What a nice gesture of your mom and the rest of you to help those adorable ducklings and their momma. You will be repaid for your good deed!

Great shots of the acquarium...we could spend hours there.

I knew my co-workers would be proud. Several years ago my department made international news for helping out a duck family on campus. It was in tons of newspapers and we got "fan" letters and e-mails from around the world. It was very funny, we keep a portfolio with the original news clipping and all the feedback we got.
