I've started doing steep incline on the treadmill. It really gets the sweat going and HR up there even at slow pace of 3.0!

3 days this week at an hour each.

Amazing what a little more recovery time will do! I'm able to do a lot more now than I have in a long long time. I'm starting to see the results of all the rehab work I have been doing. That said, my post surgery free membership in the NTC gym runs out at the end of next week. I'm starting to transition to doing things I can do in our gym here where we live and other outdoor activities so I won't lose any momentum.

Unfortuantely, I just hit 500/1200 today. And now I am icing a groin muscle after doing the 5k in just 35 minutes. Bad me! :headache: DH challenged me on the last lap of the track and yikes, there went the groin! Fortunately it is not too bad. A day of rest should put it back to normal. I will probably just do some weights tomorrow.

I think that I am in the same boat. I didn't join till the 7th. But I was already working out and used the minutes I already had. But I wasn't looking at a goal of 1,200 minutes before that time. it sure makes a difference. But I am going to keep working towards my goal. The groin is pretty much back to normal. But I only did a 30 minute walk today to give it a rest.
 
So far I'm at 320/625 - pretty close to on track. This thread really helps. On days I feel like making excuses, I remember I have "witnesses" to my laziness, and I get on the treadmill anyhow!!! Thanks.
 
Those numbers are as of yesterday. I haven't done anything yet today. I am hoping to get in at least 30 minutes. But a lot depends on what time I get off work. Still not sure if the 1200 is completely doable. But I'm still trying.

Tomorrow will be my last day at the NTC gym. I'll miss going there, but with having to pay for it, the travel time required to go there, and the fact that we do have a FREE gym here where we live, it just doesn't add up for me to join as a regular member. True, the gym here is no where near as good, but I can still get a good workout without all the drive time. Besides, I'll be going back to some of my regular activities that I haven't been able to do in a long time. Now I just have to stay as motivated as I've been lately! That's why this challenge is so important! Thanks Julie, for running this every month, and thanks everyone for being here! :cheer2:
 
I got in 4 days last week. 1 hour on high incline on the treadmill - oh my booty feels it!

Now if I could only get the eating in line too I might actually make some progress :rotfl2:.

With only a week to go, I'm not sure if I am going to make it. I would have to do 60 minutes a day. Probably going to be closer to 1000 minutes.

I cut my workout time today to only what was required to meet my goal. I have a lot to do before I fly to Orlando tomorrow! :woohoo::banana::yay:
 
Ugh - doesn't look like I'm going to make goal this month - but I'll keep trying! I was able to get in Spin class twice over the last week, that helps.

Great job!!! Yeah I can't seem to do both exercising AND eating right together. Seems like whenever I get in the groove of workouts it's like this stupid attitude that "yeah I worked out - I can have an extra bite of this and that". But it all adds up! I just keep telling myself to get to the goal and THEN I can snack more w/ the workouts :rolleyes1


Well I admit I'm doing better than I thought. I started late on the 10th so maybe low balled my plan but I guess it was still like 4x week for my plan.

I've gotten in 4 more days already this week making my total for the month = 660/540 :yay::banana::yay::banana::yay:
 
I'm only at 540/625. I'm not going to make it - my neck went out, and I haven't been able to exercise (barely able to functon). I will try again next month. Thanks.
 
I'm now at 1580/1500 (my new goal bumped up to cover the min I didn't do last month!) :cheer2:

There's still 3 days to go this month! If you haven't reached your goal yet, you still have time to get out there & get moving! You can do it! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
 
Just finished an hour. Don't think I will make the full 1200. Only 2 days left for 240 minutes. That would be 2 hours a day. Yikes! I doubt it! But I have decided to throw what is left into March. There are more days in March and I started February a few days late. I will definitely hit 1000, maybe 1100 even.

Last night I had a short boot camp and then did an hour of cardio. This morning I did an hour spin class and then a 30 minute trainer session. Phew!

I'm feeling pretty good about that, especially since I was able to pick up the min I didn't do last month. I also have better recovery time since I'm now 4 months out from my surgery and it doesn't take me 3 days to recover from am exercise session any more. :teeth: I'll have to set my goal for March accordingly.
