BTW............ Becka, noticed you are from MO. We live in KC. Jill

We are in Columbia! :wave2:

We are also trying to be realistic about what we can do. I am really hoping that DD will nap some during the day so she can stay up a little later. We do have Flounders booked one night but I would like for her to stay awake at least on Tuesday night for Pirate Night. I figure she can sleep in her stroller some but I think DS will really have fun then. We decided not to do a Palo dinner because DH and I are only giving ourselves one evening without the kids and since we wanted to check out the clubs and not miss Pirate Night we are doing our night out on Monday night after the show. :)

We are not getting off the ship in Nassau. I am hoping for decent weather so my kids can spend that time in the Mickey pool without it being madness. :) I also booked my spa treatment for Monday afternoon so DH gets the kids then... ;)

My understanding is that the club is open for families a few hours. We will probablt try to hit that at least once with DD.

Well I broke down and bought some new luggage...I have been wanting to for a while but I thought now is probably the best time. I bought a tri-fold garmet bag that hopefully will hold all of our dressier clothes/shoes so I can pack that and leave it alone until the cruise. A large hanging toiletry bag that hopefully will hold all of the "stuff" for both us and the kids that I can pack and use at both WDW and on the cruise - I hope there is a good place to hang this thing in the stateroom bathroom. And I also bought 22" and a 28" rolling duffels. I hope to pack the 28" one with the stuff for our drive down and for WDW and just pack the 22" one with the stuff we need for the cruise. Does that sound reasonable to anyone else? Can I get everything we need in a 22" duffel?

what pre cruise wdw docs did you receive? We booked a add on night through a ta and the land sea package through the ta and haven't recieved anything yet. Should I be concerned? Don't even think I have a reservation number for our first night at POFQ.

Does anyone know if we will be able to get our tickets a day early? We got upgraded to the Dolphin for our package, but we are still staing our extra early night at POFQ.

Yikes. I'm excited!!!

We are not doing a land-sea package so my documents were just for the MYW package we booked for 3 nights at ASMo before the cruise. I think if you are on a land-sea package you get all of your documents at the same time so I would not worry.

I don't know about the tickets. If you booked the add-on night with DCL via the travel agent then I would think your tickets would be good from your first day. If you just booked a night and did not get it with DCL then you would not be able to get your tickets early.

Joanne

I noticed you said you are from Toronto!! We live just east of Toronto in Whitby !!!

Glad to know there are going to be some fellow Canadians from our area!!!

Really looking forward to getting away soon!!!

Hi Monkey - my 6 yr old son would love this nickname...he just adores monkeys! We live in Don Mills but I'm originally from Peterborough and we have some very good friends in Whitby that we visit often! There was an earlier post on this thread of another Canadian family from Vancouver on this sailing as well! Small World! We are flying out of Buffalo this time (a ton of $$$$ savings!) Are you going from Pearson? I've heard the January weather is supposed to get pretty cold in a week or so, so we'll be good and ready to hit some "warm" temperatures in early Feb. Once our tree is down today, I'm going to start rifling through the kids drawers to pull out their summer/fall clothes to see what fits and what we're going to take. We've never done a winter vacation before, so I'm starting to get pretty excited! Jo-Anne

Hi Joanne!

I have a 7year old son who would probably love to play with your son. We should try and meet them up at the clubs one day!!!

We are flying out of Pearson we are also spending 4 days in Orlando before the cruise .

We have a 3 year old DS and 7 year old DS and my 14 year old step son is also joining us.

We have reservations at Palo on the Monday at 6:30. I'm also in the process of going through the kids summer stuff to see if I need to get them anything before we go. Now that Christmas is over the cruise will be here before you know it!!

Chris

Well I thought I had the whole show thing figured out so I could make arrangements for babysitting ( we want to bring our 2 1/2 yo to Disney Dreams & The Golden Mickeys) but it looks like a recent post stated a different schedule for the Wonder. I'm curious how often it changes.....it's so frustating when you have to pre-plan so many little details w/ the younger ones. I hope its not that difficult to get babysitting changed around once on board. Jill

My wife and I are celebrating our 1st anniversary on the 2/5 4 night Wonder. The special date is actually 2/6 and we have Palo ressies for 8:30. Also planning on checkin out the Super Bowl on 2/5 if it's televised. :) From the looks of the reservation options it appears to be a pretty full ship, just not too many on this forum I guess.

There may not be a lot of Dis'ers on this boat, but it sure looks like we have Palo cornered for the Monday night! It looks like between the few of us, we have 6:30, 7:30, 8:00 and 8:30 reservations!

Jill - what info did you get on the shows. The most recent navigators I saw (Nov 2005) have the GOlden Mickeys on the Monday night and the Dreams on Wed afternoon and night. Is this what you heard?

Chris - sounds like a great idea to introduce our kids at the clubs. Michael (6) loves to play and would love a buddy to hang with. Katie (9) is a little shy at first but once she links up with someone, we can't pull her away! Last time both kids loved the clubs and I hope it stays the same this time! Have you pre-registered them in advance on line?

I called yesterday to see if my dining had been switched to early seating, but alas, we are still on second seating. Chris - do you have first or second seating?
One month and one day until we head down!! :Pinkbounc  :bounce:

Hi Joanne!

We have preregistred the kids for the clubs, the only thing because Connor my little guy is not three until march we had to put him in the nursery but he is fully potty trained and use to day care so I don't think we will have a problem getting him in with his brother Tyler. He is within a month exactly of his third birthday!

We do have early seating lucked out I guess! What time to you guys plan on boarding the ship at the first day?

Chris

It looks like several of us have kids around the same age. DS is 3.5 and he will be in the Club. DD is 12 months so of course she will be in the nursery but I have only booked her there for our Palo brunch on Wednesday and for Monday evening when we have our "parents night out"....looks like maybe we should have booked Palo for Monday evening and had a DIS meet! ;)

We somehow lucked into early seating. When I booked I was told we could only get late seating but when I checked my reservation on-line just a few days later it said early seating.

We have a character breakfast at 'Ohana scheduled for I think 8 AM on Sunday morning. We hope to be at the port by 11 that morning. I think we will have already checked out of ASMo before we go to breakfast so hopefully we will be done with breakfast by 9:30 or so. Is it about an hour to the port? We plan on boarding, grabbing some lunch and then if the weather cooperates we will take the kids to the Mickey pool for a while until our rooms are open and we can get unpacked and ready for the safety drill and the sail away party.

I am torn between arriving early at port or just waiting until the first mad rush is over! The last time we went, we were there right at 10:30 and were one of the first ones checked in (there was a separate line for "foreigners"/Canadians!). Then we had to wait over an hour with very anxious kids. There isn't a lot to do in the terminal, but as it was our first time, it was nice to be amongst the excitement. It sounds like there are new boarding procedures now, and you get a number and then board when that number is called. We are staying at the Ron Jon resort in Cape Canaveral the 2 nights prior to cruise, so if the weather is good, I think we'll stay and play at their water park and not head over until after 12:00 when things in the terminal will have settled down. However, if the weather is bad, then I think we'll head over and join the crowds right at 10:30. Becka - I think that doing the character breakfast before heading down to the cruise is a wise decision...it will nicely occupy your time before to head down to the ship...I know my kids will want to head over as soon as they wake up!

Thndrmatt - congratulations on your first wedding anniversary! The Palo dinner will be a great way to celebrate. We found it very romantic other than our friends' sons peering through the window from outside :rotfl2: You should also look into the exotic rasul spa ;)

I think I'm getting the kids and families mixed up...Jill - you have the 8 yr old daugher Kylie - right? and Chris, you have the 7 yr old son? :confused3

Hey forget the kids' excitement....I will be the one that will want to get over there as soon as I wake up!!! :rotfl2: :cool1:

I actually ordered some of those customized t-shirts from disneyshopping.com to wear our first day. I know they take embarkation photos and I hope these will look good. DD is getting a little pink t-shirt that has a baby Minnie on the front with her name and the phrase "Sugar and spice and everything nice". DS will have a blue t-shirt with Simba that has his name and the phrase "I like to live on the wild side". DH's shirt is white with black trim and has a picture of Mushu with his name and the phrase "Not your ordinary dragon" and mine is lime green ;) with Dory and it has my name and the phrase "Just keep swimmin'".

They look really cute on-line...I hope they look as good in person and for
the pictures.

Becka - we laughed so hard at our embarking photo from last trip! We all looked soooo stunned and harried! We certainly didn't buy that photo! Be prepared as there is not a lot of time to actually get set up for this photo. I remember dropping all our stuff on the ground and meshing ourselves and our friends' families together on a spot and then click it was over and we quickly gathered up our stuff and were heared to be introduced into the ship's lobby. I recall the backdrop being rather bland...nothing too disney - more like a bunch of painted people hanging over the side of the ship! Hopefully you'll have additional opportunities to take your family shots with those cute T Shirts :) I wasn't expecting this photo op so I wasn't prepared and it really felt rushed as they are hustling you onboard and they have everyone lined up to do this photo. There are tons of opportunities throughout the cruise for more relaxed photo opportunities with characters etc., so I'm sure if the embarkation photo doesn't turn out, there will be plenty others!

No documents here yet!

Another Dis'er emailed me her 4 day Wonder Navigators from her mid Dec trip. If anyone wants me to email them to you, let me know your email address and I can forward.

It does look like they changed around the shows...not sure if that was temporary or permanent!?

Sun - Hercules
Mon - Comedian
Tues - Golden Mickesy and Pirates Night
Wed - Disney Dreams

Hmm... We originally paid for a cat8 room 5500, and on the site it now has us in 5642 which is a cat 6... maybe a free upgrade? I actually was hoping we'd be on the end like 5500 is, but maybe we'll notice the extra 50 square feet or enjoy the veranda or something? :)
