February 5, 2006 WONDER CRUISE

So, other than Becka's kids which I see on the posts, we probably won't have a clue to who each other is! The only lime green (the DIS-board colours that people sometimes wear to identify themselves as DISers) I might own would be the colour of my skin if sea-sickness kicks in :lmao:

So if anyone hears of the Desveaux family of Jo-Anne, Dave, Katie (9) and Michael (6), come on over and say Hi! We are in cabin 6549 - anyone else close by?? Jo

we will be in cabin 2639. DS 8 and DS 12 months. I imagine DH will spend Sunday watching the Superbowl. Can't wait to met you all! Two more days before we leave!

We are in 2614...just down the hall from you.

I imagine if the weather is good my kids will want to be at the Mickey pool quite a bit so if you see us don't be afraid to say Hi! :wave2: BTW...I have red hair with lots of freckles so that makes me easier to spot! :teeth:

We are in 8020!!!! I hope I can pick some of you guys out would love to chat with all of you!!!

Joanne would love to introduce our boys so Tyler knows someone, he is a little shy in new situations at first this would namke it so much easier for him.

If oyu here the Herringtons's we are Dave, Chris, Tyler (8), Connor (almost 3) and Braden (stepson 15) just in case anyone over hears are names just say Hi we are a friendly group!!!

We leave tomorrow morning!! Im so excited!!!

Chris - I'm not sure if its too late or if you even want to do this, but it is possible to link reservations together in order to get seated at same dinner tables which would help the kids get to know each other. We are now on main dining seating as I think you are. Send me a PM if you want to do this and I think it's just a quick call to travel agent or disney to get our reservation #s linked. Jo-Anne

our TA told us money talks. If we go to the maitre dee first thing, we should all be able to sit together, sliding him a $20 bill. Alas, we too have late sitting, which may be tough for the baby since he is usually impossible to keep up past 8. So excited. Who else has the 8 year old son. Kyle will have a blast playing with him. Or I think it was a daughter. See ya soon.

Good News - my cruise documents arrived today - just 2 days before we leave! I still have to pack some more, but it will all get done :bitelip:
Jo-Anne

yeah joanne! I'll be finishing up tomorrow. All this stuff is giving me a headache. I'll be happy when we're in the air and I won't have to worry about it anymore. If it's not packed we'll just buy it!

We're excited. The kids won't sleep and we have to be up in a few hours to get to the airport! Looks like we might be napping instead of going to the park when we get there!

We are in 5022 I think, the SPH rooms we are in one and my parents in the connecting. Our son is 7 and our daughter 2 1/2. Hope we can meet each other!

Jeanne

We've got connecting rooms ......6140 & 6142. We are the Peates........
Steve, Jill, Kylie (8), Trevor (2 1/2) & Katelyn (10 months).
We leave on Saturday and I haven't started packing yet....my husband & I just got back from Vegas today.
Is anyone bringing anything for sea-sickness for the the kids? I wonder if the Sea Bands work on children?
Hope we meet you guys.

Hi Jill - did you hit the jackpot in Vegas! I'm bringing liquid gravol for kids just in case. Last trip kids were 7 and 4 and both were ok. But in the meantime, my son who is now 6 has started to get carsick so I'm a little worried about him. I'm also going to buy some gingersnap cookies before we board as I've heard it will help to settle kids stomachs. I know ginger is good for upset stomachs, and the kids will eat them anyways!
Well I now have Katie and Michael all packed and husband has packed himself (although last time we went he left all his underwear at home!) so now its only me! Washing machine is going right now, so I think by 11pm tomorrow night I'll be good to go. Soooo close. Now off to bed and to fill out the cruise documents! Night. Jo-Anne

Hi Jill, You know Vegas is one of my favorite places. I just told my 8 year old about your daughter. He is 8 as well. May we come and try to find you guys? I wrote everyone's cabin numbers down. If I can, I'd love to say hi to people I've been chatting with for a week or so. I wish I'd known about this site earlier. I did bring something for seasickness for all of us. Even the baby. (Doc told me just to bring Benedryl for him) because my first cruise I felt sick for two days. Hopefully this one will be better. Can't wait. We'll see you guys soon!!!

If you think your packing is annoying, I move to a new duty station a few states away two days after I get back, and the movers are all coming to pack up all my stuff on Friday, so I'm not only having to pack up a bag for the trip but everything else I own as well... :sad2:

Sure you can come & find us. Also, we'll be by the Mickey pool after boarding and eating at Topsiders ( hopefully the weather will be nice). Maybe we can all try to be in the same area at the sail away......my kids will have bubbles and light up toys ( oh, and Mom and Dad will have cocktails! :rotfl: )

Wow Matt ( that is your name, right?). You're moving too? I guess we'll be able to spot you on the cruise....the one that is double fisted w/ cocktails!

Jo-Anne, does that gravel (sp?) make the kids drowsy? Someone else had recommended chewable Dramamine....is this better?

Hm, wonder if my wife and I are the last ones to leave... Her flight leaves at about 5am EST (from the UK) and mine not til about noon EST (from Texas)...

Last one to post beforehand, and first one to post afterward...

Anyone see the "Match Your Mate" show? We somehow managed to win... :rolleyes1

Sorry we didnt' get to meet anyone. We had a good time. I was surprised at how organized Disney is - especially leaving the ship. It was our first cruise and not sure if we'll do it again. I'm still dizzy! I felt awful the first night and the last night. How does it seem that time went so fast, but I don't feel like we did so much? It was hard being with extended family - my parents and my sister who was traveling with out her husband. HOpe everyone else had a great time! My 2 yr old daughter cried when I told her we had to say goodbye to Minnie. She wanted to stay and live with Minnie on the ship! Thanks Grandma for that suggestion...

We just got back in at 6 AM this morning after an almost 22 hour drive. :faint:

The only one I met was Marianne :wave2: . We saw each other at the sail-away party and again later the next day I believe...(the days are already getting kind of fuzzy).

Our kids drove us crazy but overall we had a great time although we didn't feel like we got to do very much. The time went by much too fast. We booked again on-board for the December 9th double-dip with two stops at Castaway Cay. CC was our favorite day. We have not totally decided if this will be an adults only getaway or if we will bring the kids. I don't know if it is worth it for us to take a cruise to Cozumel and Costa Maya when we could not really do anything there because of the ages of our kids.

Hi Everyone!

Had a blast but I'm still struggling as well with the dizziness.

We only met Joanne and Dave thanks to Joanne getting it arranged so we were at the same table for dinner. Go Canada Go!

Joanne glad we got a chance to eat with you guys the kids had a blast at dinner!! I forgot to get your email so I can send you some of the pictures from dinner. Send me PM when you get a chance!!

Overall had a great time the only problem was my youngest would not go in the clubs so didn't have any time to relax at all. Kids had a blast except for the last day getting up at 5:30 in the morning to go through Customs what fun the plane ride home was with 2 really cranky boys!!

Hope everyone enjoyed themselves!!
