February 5, 2006 WONDER CRUISE

We also booked the dolphin encounter direct, although we have the 1:30pm swim. Also booked a comfort suites day room, so we'll be touring atlantis and hopefully get abused on the big slide all morning. :)

Do you know how long you have the "day room" for? I am trying to figure out the whole nap thing w/ the little ones. Also, besides the pools at Atlantis, ( which, by the way , are they heated?) is there a private beach there?

Does anyone know if we have a dress up night on the Wonder?

They said we can go in the morning and get the wristbands to get into the Atlantis first thing on Nassau day upon getting off the ship. We plan to hit the slides/pools etc all morning then head out to the Dolphin swim at 1:30pm, so its likely we wont even have time to go to the room at all. Slip us some money under the table and we'll slip your our room key at some point that morning if you like. :teeth:

From what I have read, it appears that there is no official "formal" night on the Wonder. I plan on taking a "casual" but nice dress for Palo dinner and I have a summer pant suit that I'll take for brunch, but the other nights, I plan on wearing a nice pair of black pants with a nice top. Trying to keep the packing light!

On a side note...still no documents :scared:

I am trying to finish up my packing but it is really stressing me out. I feel like I have 3-4 outfits for each of us everyday. I don't know if I need to pack for cold or warm weather plus we each have 4 outfits for dinners. Plus I am trying to pack for the parks! This is a packing nightmare. I can't figure out how much to bring and I don't know how to organize it.

I really wanted to be done with my packing tonight so I wouldn't have to worry about it. I have been working for about an hour and I needed a break. Wish me luck...I have to go back in!

I'm taking a packing break now! I sure hope I picked the right amount of pants/shorts for the kids!

Now my delima is what to bring to occupy my 2 year old... we have the dvd player for the plane, but I don't know if that will do the trick the whole time. I have some coloring pages/crayons, cryaola color wonder markers and fingerpaints... At least I know my DS will be busy with homework and the Leapster!

Good Morning Everyone!!!

Well I think I am about 95% packed. I probably should go back in there later today and take out about half of the stuff I am bringing. :teeth: I am just going to have to come to terms with the fact that I will probably need to do at least 3-4 loads of laundry when we are away. I think I keep overpacking because I don't want to force myself to 'have' to do laundry. Maybe we can just buy new clothes while we are down there! ;)

hey guys i just thought i would let you all know for those of you stressing about packing. i have not even started yet. my husband will not fly in from iraq until 4:30 p.m. friday. he was not here for christmas so i have left my christmas tree up and all of his presents are still under the tree waiting for him. which means that none of his clothes for the cruise are washed yet and i am not even 100% sure that any of then will fit him or not. we fly out from new orleans around 2:30 on saturday for the cruise. there is a small possibilty of him coming in on thursday evening but after that leg of the trip i am sure he will be more unbearable than a 2 year old trying on new clothes. lol. oh well i am not complaining i am so excited i just thought that somebody out there might need a little stress relief. 6 more days! i can't wait

I'm with you Bayoubaby....it's now Sunday, the day I said I was going to pack, and what am I doing....browsing the DIS boards! I am just dreading knowing where to begin! We usually go to WDW in Sept so all we pack is shorts and T Shirts, but for this time of year, sounds like we need all types of clothes! Well I'd better get to it....pack light, pack light! Oh ya, still no cruise documents! They said they mailed them Jan 18, but maybe are stuck at Customs! Said to call back Monday to see how they can get us what we need. Well guess I'll be printing them off the website...I was just hoping for something more "official"! Have fun today everyone! Jo

well i would definitely be more freaked out by not having any official documents than i would be about not packing until saturday morning. worse case scenario for me is he has to wear his old clothes. which i can just tell everybody he is a little excentric. :clown: i use to let him buy his own clothes. :rotfl: ok maybe he is not that bad on his own but close. to bad it is not a halloween trip. anyway i hope everyone has a safe trip down and a magical time on the cruise.

Hi all, A friend just introduced this website to me. We will see you there. I have a DS 8 years old and 12 months old. I just wanted to say hi. We will be in Orlando on Thursday and do Universal and Disney. Sunday we will be driving to Cape Canaveral. Plan to board around 12. This sure has been an informative site. We can't wait for the fun to begin! Marianne Respond if you haven't left yet!

Well no I am still packing. Am concerned though, it appears we won't be able to do much in the water at Nassau and Castaway Cay. But I'm sure we'll all have a good time. We leave Thursday at 2pm. See ya there. Marianne

We're still not packed and we leave Tuesday... We're spending the night at my parents since we have an early flight out Wed. morning and they live close to the airport.

What is wrong with the water at Nassau and C.C.?

Well still no documents here! I phoned and the travel agent phoned Disney to explain the situation and they have put us down as "Pier Pickup", so we might have a little longer to check in, but at least I have confirmed that were "valid"! I'm still avoiding packing :scared1: I have laid out all my son's stuff and am moving to my daughters room soon! I have pulled out a bunch of my stuff, but need to narrow down and rationalize! I keep remembering how small the rooms are and how little space there is! From what I've read on recent trip reports, I think that the water in CC and Nassau is just on the cool side....maybe not too cool for a Canadian tho :teeth: Looks like the weather will range from lows of 50 at nights to highs of mid 70s. Even tho we've had a relatively mild January, it will be nice to feel warm sunshine. Well back to packing.

A big :welcome: to Marianne.

I am glad you got a response from DCL. I would still go ahead and print out the docs from online and fill them out....that may help speed things up at least a little.

Less than 24 hours to go...... :woohoo:

didn't mean to scare everyone. Just heard the water is very cold. If it's Jersey shore cold. I'll be OK. But finding the water temps in the Bahama's have been difficult. Looking forward to meeting you all. FYI my friend also told me (in case you hadn't heard) that Palo books only 50% of reservations on line. There should be lots of openings when we board!

Guess my wife and I will be some of the last to arrive, I fly in from Texas and arrive around 2pm Saturday, she's flying in from England and doesn't arrive until 7pm... weather.com is saying scattered T-storms with 60% chance of rain for Orlando Intl on Saturday, hope that changes...
