Hey Jen, Again you were the night owl....HOOOO
I wanted to help fill in my portion of the list...I did mention, my kids, but I don't think I mentioned my DH. (now and then I do forget about him)
so for your list, which by the way is wonderful, I have been trying to keep up with it myself, so Thank you for all your hard work...!!!!
DH, 41 Ken
DD, 6 Harlie (I think Mark, may like her name, and no she was not named after the motocycle. But I do love her name... :moped:
DS, 4 Grant
and me. With my foxy
Aunt, Nana, Mom, everything to me
Vera.....

Jen, Thanks for the list. You had names that I didn't have on my list.
I also had "Annie12345, DH and DD 11yo" and "Cyberkashi=Jamie, Scott, and Jazmyn". They probably posted towards the begining of the thread.
Not sure if they are still going.

I too am a night owl. Love staying up late, can get a lot done or just relax in peace and quiet.

Sailin Away, if you need a little something special in your soda to chug, stop by my room and we can add it to your beverage :drinking1

Would like to exercise also while on cruise. D-SIL who is coming with us is a certified Jazzercise instructor. OH, hope she's not upset about me telling everyone. Ah, but she doesn't read these boards, so I'm safe :p
She's an excellent instructor and I am planning on working out with her a few times. Is there any space on board where we would have enough room to workout? She's not going to haul all of her expensive and bulky equiptment (speakers, CD player, microphone....). We thought about just getting an inexpensive boom box that plays CD's and working out in our room. Tight quarters, neither one of us has a suite, but we'll do what we need to do.
Eventhough I am "fluffy", I workout 3-5x/wk, so don't want to miss that many workouts. Any suggestions are welcome.
Anne

Darn it!!! I just typed part of this email and some how I lost it. I hope it didn't post. But if it did, I apologize for repeating my self. My nails are too long I guess and I hit the wrong key.

I haven't been sick just freezing cold. I run a business out of our basement and some days it is so cold down there that I am frozen most of the time. :cold:

I still haven't recieved my Newport-News order yet. Suppose to have been shipped on the 26th. Maybe today. But since reading all the posts about you all and your weight losses maybe I will just not put on a suit. :scared1:
Last year when we did this cruise I had just finished a year of physical training and had lost a bit of weight. But then I was diagnosed with Graves disease and told I couldn't excercise until that was under control. Try going from 6 days a week at the gym to being a couch potato. I am working at it again but it will be a long time before I get to where I want to be. Its not like I ever was a bathing beauty to begin with. :p I have been planning on doing the treadmill thing on the cruise too. But I know from past experience that I don't usually get time to do it consistantly. Maybe walking with a group would be much more motivating. So if there is a list going keep me in mind. :thewave:

Jen, I notice on your list of us that are cruising that our DS age is wrong. He is 11 soon to be 12. I guess Mark really wants him to stay little. Of course, he is the child who always said he was never going to grow up. Takes after his Dad. :rotfl2:

I am really looking forward to meeting all of you. Sail~Away, I will be happy to join you in the corner for a drink or two. Mark's parents aren't to keen on the drinking either.

Well, I'm going to go turn up the heat and get to work.(shh... don't tell Mark :confused3 ) I have lots to do before I can even think of packing.

Laura,
My dad also had Graves disease. I'm sure it's been a very rough time for you! We went through some pictures at Chirstmas for something my sister was doing and we found pictures where my dad looked like a concentration camp victim. I think my mom said that at his lowest he was down to something crazy like 135lbs. :scared1: Don't you worry at all about your weight. Being healthy is way more important than being thin!

I may have lost some weight but I am far from thin! I have way too much of that baby roll left. As a friend of mine once told me "ewe's not fat, ewe's just fluffy!" :earboy2:

OK, the list has been edited. If there are any other corrections I'll make them later tonight. I have to go be a responsible adult now and get ready for work. We're having macaroni casserole for lunch today at school. YUCK! I hate making anything with noodles because it just seems to take so long to put everything together! Then after work I'm going to my moms to clean. I do her house every three weeks. Not a glamorous job but I just keep thinking it's more money for the cruise!

JEN,

Funny thing is that I didn't end up with the huge weight loss that most Graves patients do. I tease that I can't even get sick right. No seriously, I would have loved to lose some weight from it but the thing that was the worse was the racing heart. Glad to have it under control. It is amazing the things that your thyroid controls in your body.

Laura,
A friend of the family also has Graves. (yep, I know most friends and family members medical histories) She didn't have the large wt loss either. When joking about it, she too would say that if she had Graves, the least that could happen is that she would take off some serious #'s. But, joking aside, she is doing well now. The racing heart rate and sleeplessness/restless sleep were her main complaints. Hang in there. And about the bathing suit, wear it with pride, you will probably never see most people again. Even if you do, so what. Jen's right, being healthy is what it is all about, and we do the best we can.
Anne

Well you all were very busy in the last 24hrs. Thanks for the great list Jen. Cant wait to meet all. Friends of ours are cruising with us. My df says she really needs a break. She runs a large daycare center & preschool in town, not sure DC will be a break.
Count me in on the walks. I usually run 6-7miles 3 to 4 times a week plus walk on breaks @ work. Keeps me from being to hyper :bounce: Sometimes it doesnt work. I'm a older mom so have to keep up with the girls.
Well I'd better get back to work. The sun is acually out right now, in 2 weeks I'm seeing a beach, lots of sun & warm
Wendy

Well, I had to go out and buy all new clothes for the cruise b/c just having a baby I can not fit into any ones from last summer!! See, I was just going to wear sweats the rest of the winter and hopefully by April would have lost enough to fit into my clothes, but can't really wear sweats on a cruise, now can we? I looked in the mirror the other day and got so depressed! I am not only fat but WHITE as rice! So I decided to go to a fake bake! Hey, even fat looks a little better w/ a tan! :p All of you who exercise, YOU GO!! :cheer2: I need to be more motivated about that! I told DH I am going to walk everyday on the ship so I wouldn't feel so yucky...I am so ready to be there! BTW- I'm Kim

I leave the list alone for a few hours............ FairyGodmother.......are you behaving ????

Bill, nice to see you were not sold. No one will have to sneak around to drink, I know lots of hiding places that serve drinks !!!!

Kim-Glad you were able to find clothes. Welcome to our thread.

To all the other men on the board my dh will be there for the beer. He isnt much of a computer person. I'm alway telling him the new things I learn here.

Question to previous cruisers. Do you take & do you give the kids motion sickiness stuff before getting on. My girls both did well on 34ft charter in Lake Michigan w/o anything. Personally I dont even know what to do.

Thanks Wendy

HELP!!! OK, my D-SIL called to warn me that spur of the moment, my D-FIL and D-MIL just booked today on the same cruise. Now, don't get me wrong, they are dear people. In fact, for the past 10 months, we have lived around the block from them. We see them every weekend and sometimes during the week. But to go on vacation with them??!!!! :confused3
Thank goodness D-SIL called and we both calmed down and talked about how the kids will love having their grandparents on the cruise. So, when they called a few mins ago, I didn't pass out or say something I would regret.
I was hoping for a lot of "alone time" with my DH as he travels during the week about 90% of the time.
D-SIL and D-BIL understand the need for us to be alone and I can be very frank with them. Not so with D-FIL and especially D-MIL. Hope I don't sound like a whiner. I guess I'm just in shock. Oh yeah, and they linked our reservations to eat with us at dinner, every night. Gulp, hope we get moved to 1st seating. I remember reading a trip report from a gal whose MIL showed up at the airport as a "surprise" and joined them on their trip. So, it could be much worse. They are nice fun people, so I'm sure we will all have a good time. I'm just a little freaked out and venting.
Kim (and anyone else)- I will join you for any drinks in the corner - ANY TIME.

Oh My Anne--you're being very good about it all. Its great that you have a good relationship with SIL & BIL. Mine would plot with MIL & FIL to surprise me. OH my if that happens I will loose it. I need a vactions from extended family.
Sounds like a :drinking1 wont be far
Wendy

Well, my MIL is coming and we too live right around the corner from her and see her everyday! She is fun, but we are total oppisites. She is quiet and reserved and if is mad at you will hold a grudge till the cows come home and I am outgoing and I can be mad at you one minute and be over it the next! Life is too short to be mad! But, my kids love her and she is a GREAT Granny! I guess we will just all have a secret corner to drink and vent! :rotfl:

About the sea sickness for kids.....My boys did absolutly fine! But, they have never gotten sick in the car or on a boat. Now my niece who gets car sick did get sea sick , but I gave her half a Bonine every night and she was much better. I guess it depends on the kids.

Wendy and everyone, I'm trying to be mature about it, but it's not easy. My D-SIL is my best friend from high school who married my husband's brother. So, we have been the best of friends for about 25yrs. Thankfully, we can give each other moral support when needed. We both have mixed feeling about our in-laws going on same cruise as us. Since they already booked and it's a done deal, we'll just make the best of it. My MIL shows much favortism(sp?) towards our girls as she had 5 boys and one very spoiled girl. That is one of my major concerns with her on the cruise.

So...... Disneypilots, you want to field that answer? About the MIL and FIL? :rotfl:

oh yeah, My Newport-news order came today. So one suit will work the other goes back as soon as I can hit the post office. YUCK!!!!!

Can anyone say HUGE cover-up required!!!

Regarding MIL and FIL.....there no problem. They will follow you around for the first couple of hours. NP......Once they realize there is free food, and usually a buffet open somewhere...they will get distracted by all the great food. Thats when you quitely slip away to meet us on the pool deck for a quick refreshment......... Another trick is to take them to the REALLY LOUD dance club.........Where there is no food, but ALOT of noise and activity....... Leading to more refreshments.......... If all else fails...sign them up for the Bridge tour......the Galley tour....the plate decorationg class.......and anything else thats in the Personal Navigator. Then meet us up on the pool deck..........I'll be the one sleeping in the Sun.......because Jen will be keeping us up all night. LOL !!! And yes Jen, I realize that sleep is overrated.....I just like too :cloud9: nap in the sun with a frozen drink......

There........that should about cover it......

Mark

We have been cruised Disney this time of year 4 times......... Had 3 great weather weeks, and 1 cold weather week. Last year was the bad weather(cold) week. We had to have the sail away party indoors........that really spoiled the mood....its better to be up on deck 10, at the front of the ship.......when they blow the Mickey Horn. :earseek: 'When you wish upon a star' at that volume is aewsome !!!! :goodvibes

Anne, hang in there,,,,,,the Inlaws can be managed.......read my previous post.......If that fails.........we have a few more tricks up our sleeves...... Laura and I have had alot of practice managing the parents. They just need help finding their things to do. It realy becomes quite easy.

Mark

Thanks guys. I'm sure all will go well. My in laws are actually young and fun loving. My FIL just turned 60 and MIL is 57ish. Just a shock to find out they were coming along. Kids are excited that they will be on board, as are DH and D-BIL. Great idea about all the tours and activities.
May even print them out some navigators posted on other sites. That way they will have something to read on their long drive down to FL. Also thought about having them lug our formal clothes with them, since we will not need them on the cruise for a few days (Mon is formal and Thurs semi-formal, right?).
On a lighter note bought DS(7+) and D-Nephew(7) pirate costumes. They are cute and fairly inexpensive.
