Feb 5th - 12th 2012 Mexican Riviera on the Disney Wonder

Ok will try my best! ummm wondering how many questions that is? I probably have a lot of catching up to do! Alright here we go!

Ok, read through some questions and will answer a few tonight.
We live in south Orange County and have been here for 10 years. I'm originally from Long Beach CA and my Husband moved here from Hawthorne CA. I love Orange County! But I love that I grew up in Long Beach. And I absolutley love that I'm 20 minutes away from Disneland!

I'm new to this disney cruise, it's my first one! But I'm a little bit experienced with Disneyland, We've had annual passes for 6 years, but we are currently taking a break this year.

I most look forward to seeing my kids' little faces light up when they see all the characters on the cruise. I can't wait to see them have so much fun and build lasting memories with them.

I am currently a stay at home mom of two, a 3 year old and 6 year old. My husband is in Investment/Annuity Sales in Irvine.

It's my first disney cruise so I can't say I can give a tip. The only thing I can think of is to pack snacks for the kiddos and pack your camera chargers. And I'm happy to read all of your tips since it's our first disney cruise!

We decided to do a disney cruise since it's one of my dream vacations and our friends told us how much fun they had.

I am sooooo looking forward to Christmas! My kids are finding out about this on Christmas day!

That's the spirit!

Are your kids boys or girls or both? I have two girls, 4 and 5.

Welcome Disney Lago!

My tip was told to me by a friend,as I have never cruised Disney before.
She said to bring a case of water and tape(really well) a paper to it with your name and room number and they will deliver it with your luggage. If bottled water is handy to have in your room, its $30+ for a case on the ship!

:yay:

@shanie17, people really are different when it comes to formal nights. Most dress what I would call semi-formal. Not too many tuxes and formal dresses, but there will be some. There is the one formal night, and then at least one semi-formal night. Also, what sports do your kids play? We are a family of active athletes as well. Two kids in college on soccer scholarships, and myself for volleyball.[/QUOTE]

How great that your kids play soccer in college!! That would be my daughters dream. My kids are young.10, 8,and6.They play soccer, baseball, basketball etc..
It must be so fun to watch your kids play at that level!:)

Thank you everyone for the info on Formal night!

Still thinking about it... We set up to where we are receiving a phone call from a Disney character on Christmas morning. We did it thru the disney cruise website. But i wanted to also have some kind of gift to open, i was thinking of mayber buying a mickey ornament from the disney store and have them open it? still thinking that thru, i better hurry it's almost christmas!! What are you doing?

Welcome to the group DisneyLago! We are also OC residents. You'll want to PM Hawky7 with your information for the FE group once you've made 10 posts (you won't be able to pm until then).

thank you!! I'll send her a PM once I'm able to. Great to know you are close by!

First of all . . . :welcome: disneylago!!

What we do/did? DH is a software engineer, gets to work from home! Me, I've done a lot, from coaching volleyball, raising three kids, and working at Nike, but now I just get to stay home w/DH and our youngest DS(17)!

My tip would be to not miss the shows! Everyone has their favorites, but if you haven't seen any of them, you should go and decide for yourself if you like a certain show or not. And for the adults . . . really try to get to the adult entertainment in the evenings!!!

I saw a cute idea online(cant remember where,YOUTUBE,maybe?) where they put mickey mylar balloons in a big box and then wrapped them.Im doing that and I made a tag on the balloons that says ”in 41 days you will be on a Disney cruise."

Is it the 25th yet????

:cheer2:

@DisneyLago I think it is a list of the names and ages of those in your group, and your cabin number if you have it. I might be wrong, but Hawky7 will be able to correct me. Hawky7 is in the midst of retail Christmas chaos right now so don't worry if she doesn't respond promptly.

Question of the Day: Tuesday, December 20

What is your favorite Disney film?

It changes from time to time, but I think my favorite right now is Enchanted. I really enjoy the storyline, the songs and the humor.

Question of the Day: Sunday, December 18

What do you do? Or not do, or used to do?

(I have nearly 50 questions to go. I figure to get there, I need to incorporate some non DCL, non Disney questions)

Me: I'm a special events designer and am often a work at home mom. I keep an office for client meetings and will sometimes have to pop in. I try to get as much done from home as possible.

Hubby: Software engineer for a tech company in Costa Mesa, CA

DD2: Eats, sleep, laughs and loves.

I'm a Retail Manager for Sephora. Love it! It's insane, and alot of people think I'm crazy, but it's super flexible for my vacation needs, which are to go however often as possible. :rotfl2: Plus, I get some free makeup, so that is a plus. :)

DH is a Retail Manager for Verizon. I think he more puts up with it, versus loves it! :lmao:

It pays my bills and lets me go on vacation, and in my book, that's good enough for me. :)

Question of the Day: Monday, December 19

What is one rather unique Disney Cruising tip you might have for everyone? (this can be from personal experience cruising with DCL, or something you learned in the process of researching your trip)

One of the things I'm looking forward to most is the all-you-can-eat soft serve! Some people may be happy with a Coke float, but I'm a root beer float kind of gal. Unfortunately, I don't believe there is any root beer on board (bummer). We aren't really alcohol drinkers (I might bring one bottle of Rosa Regale or Magicale), but I think I'll mostly be carrying root beers on board.

You can get Mickey Ice-cream bars from Room Service!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yummmm!!!! love, love, love those!!! They aren't on the menu, but you can order them. And, we also to order choc chip cookies from room service, then when they are on their way, we go run and grab soft serve and make ice cream sandwiches. Yummmm.... Also, for dinner, order whatever, and however many you like. If you want 2 entrees, order them. Wanna skip entree, and just have appetizers and dessert, go ahead. You can order whatever, and however many you want. :)

I am a transit planner here in San Diego. Wife is a lead RN at a local hospital, and the kids need to get a job and start supporting us. Acting, ice skating, whatever. They're out of diapers, it's about time...

Tip: Pack swimsuits in our carry on (with the alcohol we are bringing of course), so we can swim the first afternoon while everyone else wishes they had their swimsuits.

:rotfl2: HAHA, your comment about the kids getting jobs sounds like something my DH would say, he'll like you. We don't have kids, but that's what he always says to my nieces and nephews...

Hello, I'm getting in on this a little late, I'm just finding out about this FE. Is it too late to participate for the gift exchange? I would love to join but understand if it's closed. I have 2 kids. Thank you!

Nope, we'll let you in! :) PrincessSophiesMom is right, just send me names and ages of your group along with your room number if you know it, and we'll put you on the list!

Retail Christmas Chaos is right!!!!!!!! Holy Moly!!! INSANITY! It's what, 4 shopping days left till Christmas and people are shocked we are sold out of our best selling gift sets??? HA!

Oh and my favorite Disney Film. Okay, I have a few, my favorite Classic is Aladdin. My favorite "current" is a tie between Wall-E and UP. I LOOOVVVEEE those. I really really want someone to make Wall-E and Eve costumes for me for halloween...Any takers? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Me again...

I have some more tips. Read this thread, it's amazing, I subbed to it, just to keep up on any new tips and tricks!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1380936&page=51

Also... I can't remember if we've talked about this. My brain barely works right now. Bring a pillowcase, or photo-matte and leave it at guest services with sharpies and they'll have all the characters sign it. It's awesome! Do it early on, and they'll deliver the last night. Bring a bag of chocolate or goodies, for all the characters who signed it. It's a super cool thing they do, and you don't have to wait in lines. If you are doing the photo matte, make sure you put some masking tape around the outside where the frame will hide the matte otherwise the characters will sign all the way to the end, and also put which direction you want them to sign, like for however you'll have the photo displayed. You can bring most anything for them to sign. I've heard people are now bringing this white vinylmation mickey that used to be available online, and getting that signed. That sounds cool. Also, another post I read a while ago, some lady brought a platter from her wedding, as they were on their Honeymoon. All sorts of ideas, but a "free" souveneir and it is pretty cool that you don't have to wait in line for the autographs.

Snow White. It is where it all started, and it is my girls' favorite too.
