Feb 5th - 12th 2012 Mexican Riviera on the Disney Wonder

Food? Any of the wonderfully Americanized authentic Mexican food at Epcot's Mexico will do just fine!

Question of the Day: Friday, December 23

How many times have cruised Disney? How many times have you cruised

Third Disney cruise, third cruise ever, third time on the Wonder. I didn't even want to redeem our first "free" 3 nighter to CC/Nassau because I thought it would be boring. We had such a great time we booked the 7 night Alaskan cruise as soon as we returned. This cruise was booked while in Alaska.

Merry Christas Eve everyone!

Question of the Day: Saturday, December 24

What are you eating tonight?

Prime rib, au jus, mashed potatoes, gravy, honey ham, tabbouleh, clam chowder & creme brulee. Gluttony.

Merry Christas Eve everyone!

Question of the Day: Saturday, December 24

What are you eating tonight?

Tonight: Going out for sushi with the in-laws
Cookies and milk after the girls are asleep (I should get something for the time I'll be spending tonight cussing out the horrible Chinese-English translation for the toy assembly instructions.)

Merry Christmas!

Question of the Day: Sunday, December 25

What is the funniest holiday story you have? From any season, not just this one!

During DD's first Christmas, she was only 4 months old and could barely hold her head up. We took her to see Santa Claus at South Coast Plaza. It is a rather nice mall with a rather nice Santa area. We placed her on his lap and he cradled her in his arm. The camera went up and so did her arm! We hear the photographer exclaim, "Daddy! Santa! Daddy! Santa!" My husband finally realizes that DD has her hand clenched around Santa's beard and pulling down hard. Santa has a real beard of course. DD continued to look rather angry in her photograph. This year went much better.

Merry Christas Eve everyone!

Question of the Day: Saturday, December 24

What are you eating tonight?

Christmas Eve = Lou Malnati's Chicago-style deep dish pizza. (The sheer thought that anyone here probably hasn't heard of Lou's is completely crazy to me. Their pizza is amazing..)

I'm still trying to think of something for the Dec 25th question...the day is still young and both kids got roller skates, so this story may evolve naturally as they zip around the house this evening...

Question of the Day: Monday, December 26

What is your favorite gift? (pretty open ended question, I don't want to exclude anyone, so it can be a gift from any holiday and any year)

Our favorite gifts this year, for DH and me, the cruise! Our cruise was already bought and paid for, but our in-laws looked up how much it cost and for Christmas, they surprised us by paying for the whole thing! And yes, I am pretty lucky as far as in-laws go. I'm very grateful for it.

I think DD's 3 favorite toys this year are her new wooden retro kitchen, her small folding dollhouse and this very simply fishing set from Melissa & Doug. They vary greatly in price and complexity. It is amazing to see what appeals to our 2 year old.

I got a new mountain bike, last one was pretty banged up and rusty.

Girls favorite toys are actually two little Minnie suitcase we got them. They are filling them up with their loot and taking them everywhere. Hope they don't break before we cruise!

It was a pretty quiet Christmas over here (much thanks to our upcoming trip) - I guess my favorite gift were the tickets to Disneyland following our cruise.

The kids each got a hamster, they seem pretty excited about that.

Question of the Day: Tuesday, December 27

Do you have any surprises planned for a fellow traveler on this cruise?

DD is still at the enviable age where she can be suckered into believing in things like Santa Claus. DH and I have been putting together a DCL kit for her (Minni PJs, Disney treats, small Disney stuffed animal, etc). I'm going to wrap it up with Disney wrapping paper and a gift tag that says To: Sophie From: Mickey and Minnie Mouse DH is going to sneak into the stateroom before we officially arrive and leave it on the bed. When we get to our room we're going to tell her that Mickey and Minnie left a little present for her trip. I have to admit, I'm a little afraid of her getting homesick and being stuck on a boat for 7 days. She's only been away from home for 2 nights and she does ask for "home" and "my bed" when we're away. I'm hoping the little surprise will cushion the blow a bit.

Hello everyone! My family and I are newbies to Disney Cruise line. A little about ourselves: I am 35, DH is also 35 and our DS is 6. We live in San Jose, CA. We decided to go on a cruise because it has always been on our "bucket list". We thought this would be a family fun adventure. Hoping DH doesn't get too seasick. We will drive up Sat night and stay in San Pedro. Probably check in around 12ish.

We are super excited and looking forward to having fun and meeting new people. I have thru some of the thread and I don't know where to begin. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated! Is it to late to join your FE?

@sruiz welcome to the board! it may still be possible, message Hawky7 pronto (you need to make 10 posts to be eligible for private messaging). i would go make some conversation on the general boards. i think Hawky 7 needs names and ages of those in your group as well as stateroom if you have it assigned already. Also, I think it would only be fair if we put you through the same challenge we put BrentM3 through. You have to go through our questions and reply to as many as possible. Actually, that would be a really quick way for you to get the 9 additional posts necessary to private message Hawky7.

Question of the Day: Wednesday, December 28

Name at least one unique item you are taking on your trip.

We plan on packing a full body bib for DD. I'm sure she won't use it at every meal, and we won't be forcing her. However, I'll take as much unstained clothing as I can get. I really don't want to deal with treating stains during a vaca. And I'm pretty sure most week-old stains are probably going to be lingering or permanent.

I think I may pack a fake wedding ring as well. I'm ok with having my ring on while on the ship, but wearing it on a beach sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Too much cold water, the finger shrinks a little, and bye bye ring.

Great idea for the ring! I lost my wedding band swimming in the ocean here last summer. I had lost 20 pounds in the previous 4 months, so between that and the colder water, it slipped right off!

Not sure what item we are bringing. Maybe our little speakers to play music from our phones at night in the cabin...

No surprises - I get too excited during the planning and tell everybody everything.. :)

I can't call this unique at all, but I'm bringing preprinted name labels and several collapsable duffel bags in my luggage. On both of our past cruises, we were in a mess of trouble on the final night while trying to pack up - I ended up buying extra bags from the store. This time I will be prepared for any amount of souvenir expansion.

Okay I just sent out a PM with the list and everyone's info for FE... If your room number isn't listed, please post it on the boards or at least back to me. You can only send a PM to 5 people, so if you can just let me know when you get your room numbers, that would be fantastic!!!

Something that PrincessSohpiesMom and I were discussing was the possibility of assigning days for people to deliver, we wouldn't tell everyone who had which day, you'd just know, hey I have night 5. This way we could make sure that everyone got something every night. It's up to all of you, it would be kinda cool to do that. But you decide, let me know. If you want to, I'll just assign you a night, and send it out to you.

Also for a meet up... It's the SuperBowl...Hmmmmmmm.... Usually we do the day of boarding and like around 3 pm-ish, on the Secret Deck on 7 Aft. What time does the game start?

I'm way behind on questions... Here are a few...

- Favorite gift: DH got me the Kinect just so I could have the new Disneyland game! So excited!!!

- Any surprises... No I suck at keeping secrets from DH, I'm like Brent, I always get way way too excited to keep any of the cruise stuff from him!

- Unique item bringing on board... Hmmm... I don't have any. But I'll be bringing alot of Booze. AHAHAHAHAHAAH :rotfl2: Not really alot, but hey 7 days, I plan on sitting out on the deck with a drink of my choosing that isn't watered down.

@sruiz...if you want to join our FE group, I need your info by tonight. We are closed for new entries to FE as of now. It's getting so close and I know everyone wants to start getting a headcount...

I saw that PM's only allow 5, so may as well throw this list out here...

I'm fine with getting my night assigned...

Super Bowl doesn't start until after 330pm, so a 3pm quick meet and greet should be fine. I heard they don't do the safety drill on Super Bowl Sunday, but wait until the next morning.
