My friend just called and said they did the walkthru with a guide at SSR and they were given a special Fast Pass for going. She wanted to know how long it was good for....it says nothing on the Pass. Anyone know anything about it.?

About 3 years ago we went on the tour. We were the 100th person for the day...or something like that....and got our picture taken and received fast pass for all the fast pass rides. Ours also have no "expiration date" on them. And we just used some this July with no problems.

We still have some left and will continue taking them with us on future trips to WDW.

We received the hard plastic "fastpass" for taking the tour. It was good for the next day. We were going to Universal that day, so we dropped off the fastpasses at check-in and asked the CM to give them to someone.

Ours were good for 24 hrs...

wouldn't it be great if dvc could sell fast passes to members, i think they would excite all members with that one. :yay: :goodvibes

Ours (in Feb) was good for 24 hours also.

And no, I wouldn't buy a Fast Pass. They are free in the park and I'll just get them as I go. I think Disney's FP system is the bomb! Dollywood is trying to figure somethig out like FP and from what I have heard, it sounds like they need to visit WDW! ;)

Ours were on plastic cards, similar to room keys. The small print on the card itself said 24 hours from issue. On the folder the cards were in, it said 48 hours. I wasn't sure which to believe.

Unfortunately, we got them from our guide (we purchased over the phone without ever taking a tour, so our guide told us to stop in and see him on our next trip) on the day before doing Sea World. The day after next, it worked fine at Soarin'. It was very nice, because the FastPasses that print are instant. We tried to save our second FP for the next day to get on Everest, but shouldn't have tested our luck. I thought maybe the expiration wasn't enforced. The next day (3rd day after getting them), we got a "NOT A VALID FASTPASS" when we tried to use them. Oh well. We got in the single rider line, instead.

What a lovely thing to do! :thumbsup2

My guide told me they were good for 3 days. I know they didn't work after that.

But this may be exactly what you have to do in the not to distant future. If that were the case, would you then buy one?

buckalew 11, thank you for your reply to my suggestion that dvc sell their fast passes.

the difference is that the fast pass given by dvc allows you to go on the ride at the moment you arrive instead going back at a designated time. it is a little more like the fast pass/instant pass that universal sells. the ones we had only gave 2 rides on each fast pass, and we were given 5(one for each person in our group). i do not remember if they had an expiration date or not because we left wdw the next day and just assumed that they would be no good later. :confused3 just shows that you really should not assume. i am coming home in oct. :drive: and wish i had them again. the lines do get long. pixiedust:

We got a stack of fastpasses at DLR during our tour (about 8) they expired about 2 weeks out. We have AP's so it was not that big of a deal for us. we used 2 and had to head home, gave the rest to a young family to use, they were thrilled. There is no sundae bar at Disneyland so they give these out to everyone who takes the tour. We bought that day, so I guess you could say that those were expensive fast passes.

We also bought at D'land last year and received four fast passes. DP went out and got them framed in a nice little shadow box with an inscription reading: World's Most Expensive Fast Passes.

We won't even begin talking about the cost of the framing!

We did our walkthrough on 08/20th and our four fastpasses were from from 08/20 through 09/02.

Well, I did my tour today....NOT for the fast passes mind you, but to see the Grand Villa...which I told them was all I wanted, but they made me sit through the ENTIRE thing (2 hours) and got nothing.

My friends passes though that they just got last week, said 24 hours on the pass, but the little holder said 4 days.

Loved it ----- " The World's Most Expensive Fast Passes ! "

Thanks for the chuckle.

We received six plastic cards when we walked through and each had three fast passes in them. We still have two cards left over and although they are probably expired it will be fun trying them next april to see what happens. They were a lifesaver in July. The lines were incredibly long.

We toured about 8/26 and our fast passes said 24 hours but they were good for 4 days. When we went to use them, they had expired (3 days later). We went to the nearest DVC kiosk (you're never more than 100 feet from one) and he gave us 4 universal passes.
Space Mountan here we come. When we got there, it went 101 and we got to see it with the lights on. Bonus!

I would love this idea. Six Flags does this and Universal gives automatic Fast Passes to their customers who stay on site (or at least they did last time we went).
I know they are free on site, but a pay for fast pass option could work just liek the Six Flags or Universal type.

My thoughts:
1. We dislike the present Fast Pass System. Too many Fast Passes handed out and not managed equally or well everywhere.
Example: Last time we went on Rock and Roll Coaster, nobody checked fast pass times in fast pass line. Many people got in line with passes not good for hours yet. By the time they got to the front of the line, too many people behind them, so the attendant just let everybody through. The regular line did not even move for almost 40+ minutes ( we actually timed it after we noticed what was going on ). We left the line after the 40 minutes so we cant say how long that lasted.
2. Pay for fast passes. $25/person/day or even more maybe (limits how many would get it). This is what six flags does and it works great!
3. Just show the daily fast pass voucher in a fast pass line, not need to wait in line for a fast pass ticket and no limit on how many fast passes per hour or day you could get.
4. We obviously would not use this every day, cost. But on the days you really want to get on rides and avoid lines, this would be well worth the money. Every time we go to six flags we fork out the extra money just so we don't have the hour or more long wait in every line.

Our VOTE IS PAY FOR VIP Fast Pass :thumbsup2
But make it cost enough so that it is a luxury not what the fast pass is today, more of a joke.
