Its been a while since I posted - hope this works!

I live near Belfast and given this is the 100 year anniversary of the Titanic Northern Ireland has invested significantly in an "attraction" if its right to call it that, built beside the Harland and Wolff shipyard where the Titanic was built. Some of your Titanic buffs may find this interesting. Theres a utube video showing the internal design of the exhibition and the external "bow" style building. Its very iconic on the Belfast skyline already.

I saw a TV show on this....they showed them building the bow for the exhibit.

We did a "Titanic Tour" of Belfast last year - run by Susie, who had a relative who was associated with the building /sailing of the Titanic.
Her tour was fantastic as her knowledge is considerable, and she has exclusive access to the locked up, disused drawing offices next to where the Titanic was built, and where her plans were drawn and checked each day during construction. She took us inside to look and we were able to imagine what it must have been like to look out of that very windows and see her being built all those years ago.

She also had exclusive access to the slipway where the Titanic was built (presently under redevelopment) and we were able to stand on it and ponder her terrible fate.

We loved Belfast ,and its people - despite the on going troubles (thankfully much diminished these days), it felt incredibly safe, and I would urge anyone with an interest in the Titanic to visit - we will be back ourselves when the new visitor centre is opened.
