**Fantasy Becomes Reality** Group--5/19/2012 (INDEX/ROLE CALL, PAGE 1--ENTRY 1)

John - Sabrina wants to try to get into the tween club instead but I am not so sure I even want to let her try. Have you guys discussed this?

Any chance Ashley is online playing WordsWithFriends? Sabrina plays, would be a great way to get them in touch with each other before the cruise.

Ok - back to work, for real this time!

Hi, this is Grazyna, we talked about it and we are not sure either. From reading other posts I'm leaning towards keeping her in the club/lab. I read that they are now strict with their age groups, too. What is WordsWithFriends?

Ashley will LOVE that! She will be almost 11 and I was just wondering if there will be other 10 and maybe 11 years old girls to have fun with. :

My DD is turning 11 next month and I'm nervous about her being in the Edge tween club because I'm not used to the idea of her coming and going as she pleases. We're thinking of asking that she phone us if she wants to leave the club so we know her location. I hope I don't sound too overprotective, but she's just not quite ready in my opinion. I guess it depends if there will be kids her own age vs. lots of 13 year olds. If she makes friends with kids close to her age, I won't mind which club she attends (if there is even a choice to attend the Oceaneer Lab). She loves to do arts/crafts, play games, play act/dance, and have fun.

I think Disney went ahead and took care of that for you. I believe they now strictly enforce the age groups. It apparently was a HOT debate on the main board when it first changed. Not having kids, I didn't pay close attention - but here is one of the first threads from when Disney made the announcement:

I have read that too but the one exception I have seen made is with 10 year old. I don't want to even mention it to her.

WordsWithFriends is an online scrabble game. She has an account and can chat with her friends with simple conversation but allows me to monitor closely - plus doesn't hurt her spelling or language skills!

I think she can go to the lab but has to give up Edge privlieges completely - it is one or the other. I am on the fence about giving her check in/check out privileges. Mabye if the girls all know each other and get along we can convince them to hang out in the lab? :goodvibes

I saw that and hope it is true - would ease my mind! I did read a few TR where they allowed the 10 year old in which is why it became a question. I hope that is no longer even an option but then again, she doesn't know it ever was so I may be ok! :thumbsup2

My daughter will turn 11 the week before the cruise.

Garry ....wdwgoose....asked me to post these pictures of the shirt he had made for us for the 2004 Christmas cruise:

If I remember right I think my DH told me that they have handsets so you can keep in contact with your children. You may want to check since I think you might have roaming charges to deal with on a phone. :)

She can go to club/lab, but she needs to choose it from start:confused3

Great! Are you thinking about edge or maybe lab? :goodvibes

Definitely a close call. I was thinking lab, but she may have different ideas. The kids still don't know we are going yet, but when we mentioned the possibility of them being in different clubs if we went, they got excited about it. Our son will be 9 in April. Since my daughter will only be 11 by one week, I am really leaning towards making her stay in the lab where her brother will be. Either way, she will be very happy. I guess we will just wait and decide when we get there.

That's disappointing since we have no idea where she would fit in best. I guess we'll have to check them both out on the first day before we decide. :confused3

We might check out that scrabble type website and let you know if Melissa's interested. :)

That would be great! Ashley will be turning 11 and Matthew 9 in June. I want them to stay together, too. Even though I really trust my daughter I'm not sure if I like that checking out idea. She doesn't hang out with older girls, so it's kind of scary.

ALSO they like doing hidden mickeys

I have not even looked for all of them.

garRy: should you be working on this at all, given you think you are probably moving your cruise up to April? Your work if much appreciated... just hope not feeling obligated!

We've had this cruise booked for some time, but just joined disboards. For our cabin it is myself (Scott), my wife Mindy, and our 1 year old daughter Norah. We have been on a lot of cruises, but this will be our first Disney cruise. In fact this will be Norah's 4th cruise!!! We be all the way aft in cabin 9674 and love watching the wake as we sail out. Along with us will be my parents and brother's family. Looking forward to an amazing trip!
